*Soo... thoughts??*
Insane!! Looks like a video game image.
Its like looking at a velvety black hole.
First off - as an artist whose major gallery show is based on Astronomy - THANK YOU! I didn't know they'd come out with this, and I am scooping it up pronto.
Secondly ... I want to paint a galaxy on that car.
I love it that doesn't seem real Holy crap I'm freaking out and I'm color blind
That is wild how dark
The car looks like a upgrade you haven't unlocked yet on a video game. That is pretty impressive.
That is exactly what I said!! 😂
NFSMW rings a bell
YESSSS!!! 😮
This too was my first thought. 🤣🤣🤣
Ummmmmmmm! Fuck yea !
They really need to come up with an auto paint/dip version of this. That color just tears a hole in reality.
It's illegal to paint cars in colors like this cause it prevents other cars from seeing you on the road
@@jameshed2544no it isn’t
Thank you, that’s exactly how I described it to my wife. When I showed it to her, she was convinced it was a special effect. 😊
@@TheFiction89 then it should x)
@@jameshed2544 It's not at all. And that's what headlights, and taillights, and brake lights are for BTW.
An automotive level Black 4.0 would be great for area behind grilles, vents, etc. Imagine an engine bay this color - it'd look like you dropped your 10mm into space!
Bro, my 10mm's already drop into space when dropped into the engine bay...
I thought that was where 10mm go when they want time off
Imagine... a 10mm coated in this stuff. It would get lost before you made it home from the store.
Space is a vacuum after all 🙂
Imagine a pimped out engine with chrome everywhere.
It’d be neat to also paint some of the trim with Semple’s “whitest white” paint. Really lean into that cel shaded rendering error look.
yOOO, like the "hand-drawn anime" paint jobs would look WÏÏLD.
Or use the pinkest pink
OH DOOD fantastic idea!!
@@nathanwilkins6107 All three colors really. White and pink trim on the black base, heck yes.
The one I love is the intense, electric, International Klein Blue.
Just a thin line of that on either side.
It looks like someone went in and digitally removed the colour . I love this look and can hardly wait until someone makes this into an automotive paint .
The roof is masked off when they spray the car.
Vanta black BMW. It's been out
@@bodybong That's a bit disingenuous; yes BMW coated an X6 in Vanta Black. Is it a finish you can order? No. Is there more than the one? No. It was a one off concept to promote the new X6, that's it. Basically the same thing DipYourCar did on this Mustang and the Lancer. Until you can go to your local body shop and have this done with an actual automotive paint, or vinyl wrap, it doesn't really exist.
Would it be legal? I feel like it could cause confusion if other drivers see it on the road, and can't judge how far away it is or something.
@@Here_is_Waldomean there isnt really laws against this type of paint yet
Looks wicked, can you make a small clip of it at night time with the lights on. I am curious
It would look like floating lights, I believe. And imagine the contrast the reflexive car's windows would produce. It think a night shot would be amazing to see
YES PLEASE
Night drive thru city 😃
Yessss!
5🫢
I just love it when Fonzie does crazy experiments.
Glow in the dark.
Blackest black.
Thermochromic.
Kool Aid.
Mood-Ring.
MORRREEE
Blacker than the blackest black times infinity.
It’s like a car shaped hole with floating emblems, windows and wheels. Very cool. 5/5
Imagine driving this at night, there will be accidents for sure
This is unreal, it looks like a videogame rendering.
When I paint my Taco in Florescent Tangerine Neon Orange, I'm gonna use this on my hood, tailgate and all the trim pieces.
It won't last, it isn't made for automotive applications. : (
Looks like a video game car you haven’t unlocked yet
@@SuziPoozianything’s automotive if you clear over it
@@Agilepickleunite 🤣 If you say so
He specificly says: "The product can not be top coated or clear coated in any way". @@Agilepickleunite
Finally Vanta black has a competitor. You can't tell the difference between the two and that's saying something since they're not using nanotubes. Excellent work guys
Stuart Semple's been able to outdo Vantablack for ages because of Anish Kapoor.
6:30 That is *NUTS* ! 👍
Am I the only on that thinks it looks like black velvet? When you took it outside that thought immediately hit me. I love it. I bet it disappears at night when someone “blacks out”. Kinda scary.
Perfect Halloween Vibe!
That was exactly my first thought, black velvet.
It needs an Elvis or bullfighter mural on its hood.😂
I said "this looks like black velvet" too, so you definitely aren't the only one 😂
love the “no massive ego required” thrown in there. if you’ve heard what happened to 2.0, you’ll understand the immense shade being thrown there
What happened?
Heh, “shade”
@@blauwbeer556 Artist Anish Kapoor purchased exclusive rights to a shade of black paint called Vantablack, denying its use in any art outside of his studio.
@@blauwbeer556 I believe an artist named Anish Kapoor bought the exclusive rights to Vantablack, the original darkest paint. It means nobody else was allowed to use it but him, and was basically just to stroke his ego by being the only artist who could use the blackest paint. It backfired when even darker paints came out, so him buying Vantablack was pointless. It was a jab at him.
It's almost unreal. Like a cartoon car because it's sooooo dark. Makes the lights and emblems really stand out. Kinda dig it
I love that from sideways on, it looks like a cardboard cutout. It's a 5+ from me. Also, the samples you showed at the end look like you cut them out of the screen. Love it!
That first shot of the rear GT emblem just looked like a render on a back background until the camera panned over
Way nicer than I thought it would look! It's definitely menacing. I'd love to see a supercar with that+exposed carbon accents
Yeah I would do something like this. Thinking about it for the C63 :)
Yeah, something is needed to break off some of that blackness a bit more and it will look even more awesome
Imagine a Lamborghini Aventador in that!
This is ……BEYOND WORDS !!!! I have wanted to see this for months now. I love Stuart Semple and have used many of the products in the Culture Hustle lineup. When Stuart said that someone had used it on a CAR, I got SO excited! You did not disappoint! GREAT JOB🥰🙌🏼
That is SICK, I'd love this as a racing strip/graphic on a deep, dark purple, or even an uber bright yellow
A LONG while back, I e-mailed Culture Hustle to recommend they do a collab with you and I am SO GLAD that this video happened! Absolutely stunning!
you didnt do anything
@@02blazpneither did you
I'm going with a 10 on this one. Automotive paint companies need to start on figuring out how to achieve this. I would love to have a car painted in this color for sure.
Maybe use it as a base layer with reflective stripes. Both for aesthetics and safety
We need both spectrums, the whitest white and blackest black. Would love to see the reflections in thag
It's probably not safe for traffic if your car is just a black hole.
@@zidahya at night on a highway through a national park would be sketch
We can't determine anything in this video. Whether it is inexperienced camera man, or camera was intentionally set to make the car look darker. I believe the latter, as if claim is true, there is no need for camera tricks.
I have a few specific questions:
1. Have you noticed any security concerns?
2. How's driving this thing at night?
3. Does it get too hot inside when parked outdoors?
4. Is it hard to clean it? What do you use for that?
Great questions
It would not hold up for long im sure. Maybe with a ceramic coating though.. idk
Nevermind. Its not compatible with coating. Not gonna work
My first thought when seeing it poured out of the bottle was, if it dries shiny, it would loose some of the “blackness” because of the reflections. Boy, was I wrong. This car could be used at night in a crime and nobody would be able to tell you what kind of car it was. I love it. 😊
When it was driving around outside I kept getting this feeling at the back of my mind that it reminded me of black velvet, but I couldn’t understand why… until the very end when you explained about the texture!!! I just need to sit and think about the implications of this for a while before any human interaction lmao
Absolutely insane! The car doesn't even look like it exists in our realm of reality with that color. Almost appears like it's a 3d model from a video game edited into the video. When a color like that plays mind tricks like that. It's the right color. The only thing darker than that would probably be a black hole "would be a killer alternate name"
imagine walking out of a bar into a dark parking lot. "Dude, where's my car?" lol
This is so ridiculously good, the car literally looks like a rendering in a video game. Blew my mind when I saw this!!!
Yeah like it drove off the screen and into real life
@@shannabolser9428 its truly stunning isn't it? The newest and highest level unlockable version of the car 🤣🤣
If you use black 4.0 as a base and then LumiLor on top (in stripes or anything decorative), I think you'll have the ultimate winner. I'd die happily after seeing that!!!
That thing looks sick but I'm curious of the internal temp during a hot summer. Would be cool if you guys could do a test in the future and compare the internal temp with a lighter painted model.
It wouldn’t be hot at all. Just look at it, the car is its own shadow. It’s as cool as being in the shade. 😂
@@LuckyCharms777I can't tell if you're serious but in case you are - no, that's not how it works.
Isn't the black color a foto protector?
It wouldn’t be hot… it has tinted windows.. stop it. That’s like saying a stock white civic gets hotter than a stock black civic on a hot day.
Mythbusters already did this. Yes it would be hotter.
Would be so cool if you did half a car down the middle with this black and the other half with the brightest color ever made 😃
Put a bright strip or did bottom dark top bright.
This with neon coloured Tron lines
Barium sulfate paint, also known as White 2.0
@@markyguinmy man you know what's up
The same company makes a shade they call “the pinkest pink” which would be perfect
The Mustang was perfect for showing this paint just stunning! I have painted all my woodwork at home black, and I reckon instead of black chalk paint this would be amazing 🤔 Thank you, look forward to all your videos.
Imagine having a car with this black 4.0 paint on it ,complete windows tinted black, along with alloys and also tinted headlights! It will literally be a shadow car! Who knows?? Probably darker than the shadow ( like a Ghost car😉) 😂😂😊😊❤❤
I'm honestly willing to not see something new next week just to see how it holds up
id like to see a minimal pattern following body lines with some kind of pearl or color shift on top of this
You should definitely do the galaxy pearl over this as well.
As they stated is sadlly imposible....
But as I rember they done such thing once and effect was not darkest car but "hole to galactic" effect
Don't park this in the daylight and expect to find it at night! That is definitely the blackest black out there. ANY color pops, but doesn't have that haloed effect, it is crazy. Batman just found his new car paint, heck even his suit paint.
That is unreal! I've never seen something that has that much depth to it! It looks like a car in a video game with a corrupted shader or something. Wow!
It’s crazy how photoshopped that looks 😮🤯
That effect looks amazing. It would make a great base for orange, gold, and copper details. 5/5
I would avoid parking it at night on the street. As an insurance appraiser I can tell you most states have the following type of vehicle damage clause:
"A vehicle parked and or covered/concealed (paint would count) in a manner that hides its size or approximate location may be considered an unavoidable hazard and may in certain cases be considered the cause of the accident and therefore liability would rest with the owner of the parked vehicle."
Imagine how crazy this would look like with the amazing galaxy style paint job they have done before. The one with the crazy strong glittering stars effect.
It looks like the car is covered in a black/deep deep purple velvet. It's absolutely gorgeous.
So it wasn't just me who thought: does this shift into something like a extremely dark blue when the angle is right? But maybe it's just the camera sensor struggling with that black. Who knows
It looks like you’re playing GTA and you forgot to toggle on the graphics settings for reflections on vehicles. So trippy.
5/5 Love it. I'd love to see the look with the wheels blacked out too
It almost looks like black velvet but the total lack of any shine is wild .
it is definitely a black of all blacks. it would be interesting to see you pair this with the florescent orange you used a few videos ago. they both look like an edited photo. it would be an interesting combo for sure.all in fun of course!
It’s like the blackness of space. It may as well be a black hole. Wow!
That's just nuts! even more so than the Musso black you did a while ago, 5 out of 5 for me. Shame it's not good for auto paint, I'd have sprayed our old military landrover that colour, would have looked sooo cool! :)
I use the Muso paint in my artwork, and it’s a very soft paint that releases Air Bubbles when you clear coat it with certain top coats like Epoxy Resin. I’ve never seen paint do this before. Maybe this new paint will be better to use
Doubtful.
It works because the surface is rough.
Adding any kind of top coat fills in all the tiny crevices, and so will make it more reflective.
Black (2,3,or 4) are all water based acrylics, so are not hard-wearing.
By far the best looking black paint on a vehicle I’ve ever seen.
Almost like a glitch in the Matrix, awesome
Entire Car *Redacted*
Would love to know how this would look with either pearl added or top coat of pearl.
Car looks like a living silhouette
It almost looks like it is covered with black flocking and has a texture. Super cool!
404 Error: Paint Not Found
Legent says: There must be someone inside the car at any time, being able to open the doors. Otherwise no-one will ever enter, not finding the door handle...
ok , so i bought some . Since you said don't use it with clear coat that's the first thing i did and it works fine , it is even soluble in urethane clear. applied as such it is darker than rattle can black. Brushed on , as is, it tends to be semi matt and too reflective compared to the sprayed finish which is very matt and black as advertized.
How is it holding up?
just did a test sample , will do my car when the weather wams , i don't expect a problem
Bro, the body lines of the car just disappear in that paint. It just looks like a flat black surface.
Reminds me of a quote from Night in the Woods: "Black not like the colour. Black like the space between the stars."
i wish i could have my car in this paint! It looks like the car is wrapped in velvet! It is beautiful!
It’s like staring into the void and realizing there is nothing that can possibly stare back at you because nothing can exist in that void.
That is absolutely unreal! Amazing!
Love to see it in the dark/night time
DO THE WHEELS TOOOO!!!!!!! Lol it will look like one of the mystery cars you need to unlock off a video game!
Incredible. 5+. They really should develop this into a product you can use on a car. It's like a black hole, a flat black silhouette, a panther stalking!
An exquisite idea old chap, let thy midnight crimes begin.
It looks like when a car is locked in an old Need for Speed game. Totally sick silhouetted look
I would love to do the hood and top of the fenders on my '70 C10 with that black, and the rest of the truck in the brightest white I could get. That contrast would be amazing.
Wow. That’s just a … void. Like empty space. What an effect!
Love it, Batman is on the phone to you now to have the Batmobile repainted.
Would look like a car from a comic book with matte white details.
My Jag F-Type would definitely look great having this but like anything nice, it's probably super expensive to get your car painted and clear coated with it.
Damn that's so cleeeeaaaannnn! I wish they made it for a car for real!
Imagine driving this beauty at night.
It makes it like like a computer drawing. Wild.
So what video game was that? The angle, the panning and the perfect movement of the camera are a dead giveaway. 😂😂
Awesome. Looks like a cartoon, and also like driving at night might not be that safe.
Imaging driving on the highway at night, looking into the rear view at the car behind you and all you see are the lights. No car, just the floating lights. 😂
That's one of the nicest things I've ever seen perfect well done 👍
That’s sick! The car looks like it’s in a VR game
My brain keeps smoothing out trying to convince my eyes that this is in fact a real car, not fake. It's wild.
This black 4.0 is definitely the most beautiful black I’ve ever seen, definitely creates a totally void, I believe that any color that you add will look like it’s floating in the deepest part of space, absolutely a 5x5, but to be honest it needs a new ranking of its own
Black paint matters, sweet 5
Nigel Tufnel:
It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black.
Unbelievable. It’s so amazing. It’s trying to break my brain.
They absolutely need to make this into a paint that’s feasible for cars bc I would immediately spray my car with this and I love the video of what you guys did with this 5.0 afterwards I saw that video first and had to see what it looked like in the first place and if I could spray my car in the same color
I think this would look great with underglow.😂
The shot at 6.33 looked like an video game where the texture of the car didnt load properly and instead it was filled with some default black lol
I would like to see this super black Mustang alongside a matte black one and a normal black one at night on a well lit parking space. That way, you would have (or not habe) the reflexion of many lights. You could as well play with the lights: Position those three and a white one in a square on a dark place and let them illuminate each other with only their headlights. Or at daylight: Film them with a drone (or from a bridge) from right above!
you guys should dip a car like this and paint all the body lines with white, like anime style. i bet it would pop like crazy
"Honey, is our neighbor an electrician?"
"I'm not sure, why?"
"They wrapped their entire car with electrical tape"
"Oh that's actually the paint job"
“Black Hole” would be a dope AF paint color name.
This looks like a crushed velvet material. Wow!😮
Unreal! 5++
Batman, eat-your-heart-out! 🖤🦇🖤
Imagine a Car in this Black and then do the strips in Glow in the Dark paint. Or some cracy Decal in Glow in the Dark paint. Would look like the Glow Decal is floating in the air.
What would happen if you put clearcoat on top as if you were to a normal carpet job? I’m assuming it would take away from the effect a little bit, but if it was more of a Matt clearcoat I would love to see a small test!!
That is soooo nice on the eyes. I think it might be a little dangerous to drive it at night though.
I love your talented artwork on these cars and videos man. I pray and wish for an awesome paint job like one of your hyper shifts or black 4.0 videos, someday. I’m dying to have my car painted like that. It’s a dream.
It being as thick as it is reminds me of acrylic paints I use on models and dioramas.
