Thanks for posting this one. Ted was the first concert I ever went to back in 1979. He opened with Storm Troopers. Amazing energy. My first guitar hero!
The Whiplash bash was some of Ted's best live performances! I drove from New York year after year waiting hours in the freezing cold by the Detroit River just to stand up in the front row!
@@Acedog20 now that’s dedication. Spent many a New Year’s Eve standing for 3 plus hours with a general admission ticket on the main floor of Joe Louis Area watching Ted. Teds sets were so long some people would leave out of exhaustion.
Been a Ted fan since Journey. Seen him right up front in '70 at Kickapoo Creek (Illinois' Woodstock). Still have my guitar he autographed for me with his teeth. Hired him to play at The College of Lake County on my 21st birthday. Ted saw a photo I gave to his Mom when he stopped in back at his folk's house, and His Mom called me and said Ted wants the negative so he can put it on the cover of his next album. When me and my girlfriend were there dropping it off, we played pinball with Ted's Mom on their Weekend Warriors pinball machine. After Rob Grange left, his music began to lose some of its magic for me. My favorite Ted album; Marriage on the Rocks.
I lost count of how many times I've seen Ted. I saw him at a small club and stood right in front of him at the center rail all show. I saw him with the Damn Yankees too. I love his playing, that's all I care about.
Thank you David ! There is a lot to learn from Ted, he got a very personal tone and fraze in hes solo that make you recognize him directly. And his use of feedback is also special. And the harmonize with two guitars so good and he was a master of riff and grows! Thanks again, looking forward for more of Uncle Ted and Frank Marino that needs to highlighted more for his great guitar playing now when he has retired sadly!

You need work on your Great White Buffalo INTRO. You're very close but no cigar. Ted personally showed me this song. You're off on stormtroopin is not correctly done, on the change in the turnaround.
First time seeing was in 76 and I've seen so many shows I lost count. Uncle Ted plays anywhere close I'm there. I believe he was at his best with Derek great chemistry together
“ Double live Gonzo “ is STILL one of my Favorite’s of all times . I got my first Cassette tapes of this legendary album in about ‘77 or so & we wore it out playing the whole album on epic adventures in life as a high -schooler in my ‘65 Corvair with all my buddies piled in & off to somewhere ( anywhere actually)😉😆. Thanks David as always …. Good stuff .
I first saw Uncle Ted in London Hammersmith Odeon in 1976 and it was the "If It's Too Loud Then You're Too Old" the tour slogan, Steve Gibbons Band opened for him and it was well loud with his best lineup ever comprising of :
Ted Nugent Lead Guitar
Derek St Holmes Guitar
Rob Grange Bass
Cliff Davies Drums
Great video! you should really take a look at Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt from Captain Beyond man! the first 1972 and second 1973 albums are really amazing.
Wow, simply fantastic. Thank you so much. If you feel like further stoking the world out...May I suggest. Paralyzed, Sweet Sally, Scream Dream, a bit of Hibernation and the right hand double strumming on Stranglehold. Thanks a million for these tid bits of inspiration... I'm going to practice now :)
I love the resonant that happens on two string bends WHOOM WHOOM as you let the bend go it slides down.
Ted Nugent is a legend and an inspiration to not only have your own voice, but to express it as loudly and confidently as possible! (This goes for both his guitar playing and his personal opinions!)
Nice, great on the fly looping.
Ted has a show on Real Americas Voice on Saturday. He always plays his Gibson.
Stormtroopin is route 66 backwards
Thanks Dave, great lesson.
I was pressed up against a stage barrier, directly in front of Ted back in 1979 (Biloxi, MS). He was the king of controlled feedback. He could make that Byrdland howl!! The ‘Double Live Gonzo’ and ‘Ted Nugent’ albums were a huge influence for me.
That intro riff on the first song is amazing! Freaking magic!
Hell yeah ! Uncle Ted. Thanks Dave.
Great stuff Dave……love Uncle Ted, he was a huge influence on me starting to play guitar. Our band played many a Nuge tune….🏆
Ted is just too strong for the wimps out there.
Cool Thanks
Monster player. His work with Damn Yankees is absolutely scorching. Not talked about nearly enough.
