I'm sad that she didn't have fun and enjoy her time, but it's still real and it's her experience and feelings so I would never dunk on her for being "too negative". you're probably the most relatable channel on this platform 😭 art school is so much harder than people think and its really people who don't understand that can be quite demeaning. i love realism but i also have that exact thought, that everyone can paint realism, so what is the point of my craft 😔 and my doctor asked me what i study and i said drawing and painting and he laughed and said "thats not gonna make any money" like dude pls leave me alone i KNOW 😭
girl i feel u so hard with the talk about having a breakdown in front of ur teacher. i did an illustration/animation degree some years back, and had the exact same thing happen. full blown crying panic attack in front of everyone in my class, so fucking embarrassing. had to run to hide in the toilets and had the teacher follow me to check on me and tell me to go home. thankfully she was lovely and sympathetic, but art school is SO much harder than people imagine. constantly comparing yourself to your talented and hard working peers, making the mistake of overachieving early so the teachers (and yourself) get frustrated when you stagnate/struggle, having such insane amounts of highly intensive work demanded of you in such short deadlines... the complete isolation of it all. i think your work is incredible, and it takes great strength to be vulnerable and stay positive despite the horrors. art school was lowkey traumatic for me and it's tough to see you have such a similar experience. be kind to yourself and your mental, if you have to take a break please do (it took me 5 years to finish a 3 year degree bc i kept having breakdowns lol), and you're not a failure if you have to step away all together. that being said, i hope you can push through and continue to achieve great things!! cheering you on from australia !!

I watch you because you can be really raw. Being a painter can leave you pretty vulnerable socially. You're out here just trying to learn and improve while you also have a unique artistic vision. It makes me feel less alone. Don't feel like you need to be more positive for our sake! Just take care of yourself ❤
My biggest recommendation if you don’t want to just say “painting” the degrees that is attributed to is “fine arts” which can, of course, mean a lot of different kinds of art. At the end of the day, though, if you don’t feel like going into detail, don’t. Play the young card and be like “I don’t know yet, I’m finding what I want to do while studying and doing what I love”. They may still give you looks but majority of people in college don’t know and all of my friends in college switched majors at least once if not multiple times the first couple years.

I'm going into my second year in art school too! I totally understand where you're coming from with adjusting to a whole new life and I can't imagine people recognising me while trying to create my college identity and make friends, my biggest advice would be to focus more on the experiences like parties/hangouts even if you leave early just to take everything in because I promise the memories I am taking away from my first year in art college are not me painting even though its my passion! you gotta remember the peoples art you feel envy for they feel the exact same about your work and you're in no way behind, I have a short video of my year on my channel if you wanna check it out:) sending love and happier vibes for year two you got this sorry this is so long lol
