- This was my first TAS ever created! I thought it would be an interesting one, and I had a lot of fun making this! Apologies for the lack of uploads, ran out of random video ideas.

I like how the enemies try to predict your movement but you're standing still
Probably micro inputs to do that
and if your tank matches what your rockets can do

Shooting a missile at 4:49 to intercept an enemy missile that didn't even exist until 4:50 gave me chills. Nice TAS.
Enemies seems to always do thr same things
And that he just ignores the other five or so shots by that tank afterwards as they whiff him by a pixel 😂 that first shot must have been dead on a few too many times to let be

it's similar to the behavior of actual green tanks, intentionally choosing paths that involve at least one bounce.
I don’t think so… The green tank has a limited firing speed, and doing them would let the shots not collide with the enemy tank’s shots.

2:26 is so incredibly funny because it's just the green tank idling.
I like how quickly it snaps into position. Also I'm pretty sure that there were some angles that the TAS used just to stunt on the AI
There’s something so satisfying about a bunch of tanks trying to swarm just one tank and it just murdering them all without moving.

If you mean two TASes fighting, it would basically be one of those "what do you mean you shot me I anticipated it and actually shot your bullets" playground arguments

YOMI Hustle
All Tanks and Details:
Brown: Doesn’t move, shoots bullets at a slow rate.
Grey: Just like Brown, but it moves now.
Teal: Just like Grey, but shoots rockets.
Yellow: Fast, and lays mines occasionally.
Red: Shoots a bullet that deflects only once.
Purple: A mixture of Red and Yellow.
Green: Doesn’t move, but shoots rockets that deflects 2 times.
White: Basically invisible, and lays mines.
Black: Very fast (fastest of all(faster than Purple/Yellow)), lays mines, shoots rockets at a heavy fire rate; heavier than Teal and Green.
Navy: Speeds of in between Yellow and Black, Has a 100% different design than the other tanks, shoots rockets that deflect 3 times, and shoots rockets at a rate in between Green and Black.

and each affects the game's music differently, their amounts as well
Green: asthole
The specialty of purple and red is that they can shoot salvos of up to three bullets at once, bullets that deflect only once are basically just the normal bullets

i like the added note of deflecting even when there is a straight shot, just like the real green tanks

For anybody that cares I've recently found a game on steam called "Tanks: The Crusades" which is literally just Wii tanks but with more stuff
I was literally talking about Wii tanks with someone the other day and saying that it would be so cool if someone made exactly this. I may have to get this game.

I always wished this game was a bit deeper. Like, without modifications you only get to play as the blue tank that can shoot a few normal bullets and lay mines. No tank selection or customization, no level editor, no PvP...
Man, if I knew how to make homebrew programs and code I’d make it myself but I know next to nothing about Wii modding :(
there’s a (free) Steam game called Tanks: The Crusades which was made to let you do exactly that, i’d recommend checking it out at least

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this video so let me explain some stuff.
This is a TAS not a TAS-bot. A lot of people seem to think that this is a program that’s playing but that’s not the case.
A TAS-bot is when you make a program to do all of the imputes in a run, very useful for if you want to do things like arbitrary code execution and such.
A TAS on the other hand is run preformed by humans with the assistance of a “tool” this can be anything from using save states to rng manipulation to determine a theoretical “perfect” run.
In this case @Zeptea played the game in super slow motion and what we’re seeing, is a playback recording of said run in normal time.
I'm curious how this explains the shots taken to intercept bullets before the enemy fires them like at 4:49
@@mikef5951using save states to get the right angles or see what the enemy tank would do in order to make the correct play
TAS is when someone makes a sequence of inputs using savestates, slowdowns, frame advancing or other tools, and then using an emulator you can play back the run at real speed
TAS-bot is a physical device that allows you to play back TASes in a real console instead of an emulator

I'm genuinely curious if you can defeat all 100 bonus stages with the green tank, even with TAS.
I've tried, sadly stage 30 is not randomized, and it has a green tank you cannot reach no matter what angle you shoot at. So stage 30 is the limit with this mod 😔

There were times where the TAS could’ve just shot straight at an enemy, but *no,* it had to do them dirty and bounce it off the walls first!

I love how disrespectful TASes always are. Like "yeah, I could just move and shoot you directly, but instead I'm going to time two shots so that one blows up a mine to destroy a wall and then the other one ricochets twice and goes through that hole and instantly kills you"

To unlock them all you need to do 1-20, go back to the menu then do 1-20 all over again then it should show all 80 levels!

Oh some of those bullet intercepts were just showing off, even for a TAS. Legit sat there and was styling on them on top of all this. I verbally shouted "WHAT?!" at some of those. Like who intercepts a bullet from hitting themselves at the last second by bouncing it off the far wall?

I am pretty sure almost all of the budget used on this game went into the green tank ai.
We need an extended version of this because there is 100 true missions (20 normally, 80 more after clearing the first 20, two times)

Wtf watching you just know perfectly where every enemy will move and where they shoot is so cool and satisfying, I wish I could memorise patterns like that 😂
if it makes you feel any better, they probably couldn't perfectly memorize everything either - TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun (or Superplay, if it's not a speedrun), so stuff like savestates, slowing down the game, recording and replaying inputs, etc. are all allowed, and used to create theoretically perfect gameplay. because of this, it's less a demonstration of skill, and more a fun "what if someone could play this game near-perfectly? what would it look like?" kinda thing.
that's not to say there's no effort or skill involved, though! TAS tools are just that - tools. the person using 'em still has to re-do segments until they're just right, figure out the ideal timing and angle for their shots, etc.

Watch Pikmin's TAS speedrun. On the very first area, he makes the main character, Captain Olimar, sync up his sound effects to the music.
Or you can watch the short "Captain Olimar freestyle" and you'll see what I mean.
