As someone who lived in Grand Lake when this happened, I can tell you a lot more people in Granby and the surrounding area have sympathy for Heemeyer than you would think. He got raked over the coals by some small town town crooks and didn't take it lying down. And he wasn't the first person in those parts something like that happened to, just the first one who did something about it.

Don't destroy it or alter it in any manner... It's the last piece of Marvin's creation, and the fact that someone took the initiative to acquire and save it as well as the newspaper articles, etc. speaks volumes towards the thoughts shared by others concerning the rampage.

Hi, newspaper owner here. The newspaper goes out always, no matter what. I remember my mom being rushed to the ER before my adoptive mom passed: before I could even go, I had to finish the paper. Classified advertisements are the main reason, but also postal permits for weekly newspapers. You can have the paper go out early, but NEVER late.

Yo guys for comparison, the bulldozer model that Cody has is about 97,000 lbs (44,000 kgs). Komatsu (the company that made Cody's bulldozer) makes them up to 240,000 lbs (109,000 kg)
Cody, if you go to all recycling in Englewood Colorado, you can find a bunch of pieces of The Kill dozer.I worked right next to all recycling when they brought it in. There was hundreds of people taken pictures of that dozer when it got brought down the hill.
