Paul was just discussing terms with the empereor and when the empreor discusses with the revered mother, gurney said oh look there's a harkonen amongst them let me kill him then feyd says that paul is a pussy for letting his henchmen fight him and paul was triggered by it, so he challenges feyd to a fight.

      Lol yeah....even with this being the single redeeming scene of this debaukle....the Villaneu version DESTROYS this one.....lol
      I'm a hard-core fan of the books I never thought id ever see it come but I gotta say the day has finally arisen in which the deepest and most intellectually challenging scfi series out there has been given its due. More so. While not adhering to the book Canon down to the letter, these two adaptations of the first in Herberts OG series pass the muster....
      .... save for the posthumous stuff this series is just stellar . forget Brian Herbert and all hes written its cheesy and doesnt vibe with his dad's original message and tone....so maybe I'm bias.....
      ....but I loved these new movies...They are enthralling and the second part is masterpiece. The first is an instant classic in my book.
      .....Scfi wise they will be counted on the G.O.A.T short list for SCFI in film, imo.
      ..... having a timeless msg and adhering to human nature in the most realistic way imo out of any other franchise movie or book...Foundation bores me to tears.....I'm a fan nowadays of Non Fiction history and astronomy, astro physics if im reading fiction its to reread Dune, ASIAF,Wolf Hall,Anne Rice Vampire Series so idk about new scfi but Dune was rlly only scfi that ever was interesting to me when it comes to written word but still SO MUCH CREDIT IS DUE TO HERBERT Dune makes Star Wars seem childish, Foundation seem like unnecessary drudgery having to read such boring prose if not unbelievable as well in comparison and dont get me started on Harry Potter .....adults are speaking please leave the room lol.....

    • @harrisonreed8718
      @harrisonreed8718 3 ปีที่แล้ว +175

      Yeah, but it's better in the book. In the book there was a word that Fenring's wife implants in Feyd when she screws him (yeah, that bloodline isn't lost here with his death), that Paul can say to paralyze Feyd for a split second. He knows he can cheat in the book. Instead, he shouts "I will not say it!" which ironically has the same effect. It's so strange and catches Feyd off guard that he goes slack and Paul kills him.

While i say the 1984 portrays a much more bizarre and sometimes unpleasant direction, i feel the script, dialogue, and masterful prop and art direction helped immensely considering the time back then. 2024 tops all adaptations and so far my best movie of the year where i would watch it multiple times. So he basicaly had at least 10 years above Paul in that fight, no matter who trained him and all. Paul was a rookie, barely 19 years old at this point. Fayd was a veteran fighter, a swordmaster i would dare say, and they are the best of the best. Paul should have died there no problem but he totaly SMASHED (duh XD) him into the ground.

    Honestly, I think this version did a better job than DUNC with this scene. Feyd-Rautha is more maniacal, the Emperor is more indignant, Paul has cooler lines, the knife fight has better practical choreography.
    "Try looking into that place where you dare not look. You will find me there staring back at you."
