One last thing I forgot to mention that has been circulating comments long before I started my "Frieren reactions addiction".. The party of heroes that defeated the Demon King consists of: Heiter the corrupt priest Eisen the cowardly warrior Frieren the dishonorable mage Himmel the fake hero

I dont think i had one anime influence me this strong w such few episodes. Even the one liners from flashbacks are truly powerful. Like Starks brother when he says he has to live was such a strong one liner that had me sobbing 😭 This show is so good..
Yeah, ep.12 is one of my favorites. It breaks me every time. Thanks for the emotional therapy today. This whole episode has so much to look into. Himmel being so amazing that he didn't need the Hero's Sword. Stark "The Dragonslayer", a kid who doesn't even recognize the small amounts of awkward praise he did receive from others, who is shackled by immensely low self-worth, doesn't even think he's worthy of making an attempt at pulling the sword, thinking to himself.. "I bet my brother would've been able to pull the sword." Himmel, Stoltz and Stark all don't need symbols of heroism. Their kind acts make them become symbols of heroism.

His words carried a bitterness that spoke to both his disappointment and his ideals as a hero. He didn’t need a legendary sword to embody heroism-and all of his friends knew that.
UGHHHH this just means i am going to have to read the manga.. once i am done with the series i will def go back to it. It's kind of funny how "Stolz" or "Stoltz" both mean "Proud/Magnificent" and "Pride" in German. The father says to him, "Stoltz, you are the pride of the village." and he responds with "Of course, father." Like.. duh.😆 "The Hero's Sword can only be pulled from the stone by the hero who will drive off the great calamity bent on destroying this world." For all we know, The Demon King doesn't represent that "great calamity".
I got chills reading this! lol I didnt even realize that perhaps Himmel couldn't pull it out not because he wasn't worthy but maybe cause the demon king wasn't the calamity WOW! so sick! and I hope we get more flash backs from his brother cause he seemed lilke such a great character! but thats also funny 😆 Like his parents literally named him that for a reason! Such a great episode!
