Remember, despite the name "martial arts" it originally wasn't designed for fighting. It was designed for strengthening the mind and body through a physical training regimen. The fact that it could be used for fighting was a nice byproduct. XMA may not have THAT much of a practical combat side, but it's still every bit of an effective martial art, doing what the martial arts were intended for.
As a practitioner of martial arts for 30 years, there is nothing wrong with what XMA is doing. Would you say Capoeira is an invalid martial art? Would you say Wushu is even though it was a commercialized/publicized version of Shaolin so the Communist Party could say they didn't destroy their heritage?
i wanted to see this whole division. anyone know where i can find it? i like the idea of having to sync the tricks it makes it harder and you cant make it up on the spot lol

Not everything in the martial arts needs to be about MMA/Muay Thai or how effectively you can kick someone's ass.
