      I unfortunatley do not have the Triangles anymore. They were magical for music, but for movies I found the voices and dialogues to be too nasal. I need a "do-it-all" system :(

    Wow 😲 after your vids and your comment in Dali Oberon 3 video about Triangle Comet, I found sound test of Triangle 40th Anniversary Comet on "Zeos' second channel" - this is incredible sound stage !! I don't get what is a trick :) may be the way how he record his tests with two microphones 🤔
    And I wonder now is it indeed so audible difference between just Comet Ez and 40th Anniversary Comet valuable 500 dollars in price

    What do you think of Triangle Esprit Comete EZ vs Dali Oberon 3 vs Focal Chora 806? Which one has the best sound stage and image? I am planning to get a 3.1 system and they are at the same price right now.

    • @georgedomse
      @georgedomse  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      These are 3 completely different beasts.
      The Comete EZ is an awesome speaker for music. It has layering, soundstage depth and width and details (for the price range that is). I could not stand its "horn sound" for movies though, the dialogue was always like someone is talking through a sheet of rolled paper.
      The Oberon 3 is good for both, an entertaining sound with size-defying bass; which quickly becomes uncontrolled and lays over the midrange if your system is not matched. (tbh I think its predecessor, the Zensor was a movie king tbh)
      The Chora 806 is on the other end of this spectrum. It's lively, has decent mids (although sometimes a tad thin) and the bass is okay, but in a midsize room it will absolutely need a sub.
      You got to pick your poison.

    Aww you have got stands...
    I do apologise 🙄 if I may make a suggestion, move them stands towards the outside corners of your cabinet (obviously without obstructing the view) and I'll be surprised if you don't pick up on the difference!

    • @georgedomse
      @georgedomse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You mean move them closer to each-other? I have played for hours today with the placement. If I move them too close, the soundstage suffers; if they are too far apart, the side walls get too close and bass overpowers everything. The thing I need is more space :)

      In this video I've been using an IOTAVX SA3. They paired up pretty nicely if you are looking for a detailed and transparent sound.

    hi. do you still have them? i like the signature of triangles (now i own borea br08) with the mids forward presentation and live like sound , anyway i have to downgrade to bookshelves and i'n not sure what to pick. Have you compared them to Dynaudio evoke ?

    • @georgedomse
      @georgedomse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I sold these long ago. Also sold my Evoke 20's :) Never heard them side-by-side, so my impressions would be irrelevant.

      @@georgedomse can you recommend anything from your experience that sound opened/clear like the Comete?

    • @georgedomse
      @georgedomse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oslius yeah... pulling away your speaker from any wall boundary at least 1m :) (seroiusly, this opens up the sound tremendously)
      Speakerwise, I had great experience with the Focal Aria 906 in terms of spaciousness - did not like the sound character though. My favorite so far were the Dynaudio Special 40's that had huge soundstage in all three dimensions. Maybe not as sparkly as the Triangle (for sure not as sparkly) but I preferred it by a long shot to anything else.
      I did not try any other horn speakers though. For movies I really much disliked the 'nasal' quality they added to dialogues.
