He is so talented. I have no idea how he did this night after night for so many years, and continued to be so inventive. He has some of the funniest sketches I've ever seen.
@@mechwarrior13 not sure what you meant by that. I hopefully just didn’t pick up on the joke but just incase you weren’t let me remind you that he fought for all of his NBC employees to get jobs at TBS or other shows within the same career and pay. And during the transition period to TBS he paid all his employees salaries out of his own pocket even while he wasn’t getting paid himself. He truly cares about those people so I’m sure this new HBO deal was hard for him and can only imagine how much he did for them. He’s a saint
Conan's audience was better disciplined back in the day. When he did the "Fig Newton" joke and needed crickets, the audience laughed. Al Franken was great! Laughed to see Conan's expression warning him to say the joke was funny, and then his resentful-captured-Scooby-doo-villain face when Al cried out, "Why, Conan? Why?" Thanks for uploading this!
Not only this show, but as a writer, Conan was almost solely responsible for the Simpsons actually being funny for their first 5 years of existence, and for Saturday Night Live actually being funny in the 80s before he left for the Simpsons gig.
That's my theory too. For one, he didn't have to leave the east coast, for two, Colbert probably offered him more money than TBS could even fathom, and third, his actual output is way less, making tiny videos that aren't really all that inspired anymore. But it's ok, Stack did the right thing for himself and his family, except maybe, if he would return to Conan's HBO variety show, he could make even MORE money.
I miss jokes like these where comedians can just go wild. Sky is the limit. Now you can only get away with these when youre doing standup, but even when in there, people still get offended.
Classic Conan is the best late night humor of all time.
I don't remember 2003 being this old...
Daniel L haha!
No joking matter 💔
is like it´s recorded in VHS
Member using Kazaa to watch clips like these
I wonder when we'll say that about youtube in general...
I wondered why the jokes were so poor, then the sketch got awesome....this is why i love conan
Careful with the first part… Conan might sue you
poor enough.surely odd but people still laughed
Yeah, I thought it was Leno for a minute
That’s the point of the sketch
They had bad jokes SO people wouldn’t applause SO he could say the crowd was bad SO he could pretend to sue them how don’t y’all get this
He is so talented. I have no idea how he did this night after night for so many years, and continued to be so inventive. He has some of the funniest sketches I've ever seen.
Part of Conan's genius was to hire great writers.
Conan was the head writer for The Simpsons
Yeah. His writing staff was incredible. Funniest people ever.
damn, Conan tried so hard not to laugh at Al Franken almost falling off the chair... best part of the sketch!
Lol i had to pause it, i was in tears laughing so much
And when the chair fell again when he stood up, I laughed again. This turned out to be a funny one.
that's your minoosota senator bro
the only state that elects wrestlers jewish comics for positions of power
i was like NOOOOO during that addresses bit... but then it got amazing. It's great to see a full sketch like this on a late night show!
You won't see this on Conan's crappy bandless half hour show, that's why I don't bother watching much new CoCo.
Sorry, Mr. O'Brien.
Hats off to Brian Stack, the best writer-performer in late night history!!
!!!! You have no idea how long I've been looking for this sketch. THANK YOU!
No problem. Let me know if there are any others you want, I might have them!
@@ConanFanatic Any you can, his early stuff before the TBS switch is comedy gold!
@@ConanFanatic I remember sometime in 2001-2004 there was a bit about Jesus figurines.
6:30 This was clearly not planned, and Conan's joke was so genuine and so funny, even back in the days.
This is a truly brilliantly meta sketch.
It’s not brilliant but it’s fairly good
This shows Conan's true genius of being a talk host and comedian, being able to construct something so funny and that it adds up to the climax
Brian Stack. Comedic genius. The tall red headed dude is ok too.
Conan was/is usually totally unexpected. That's what makes him the comic legend that he us. Expect the unexpected and go along for the ride! 😂
8:17 why is Conan so good at playing a sniveling creep? LOL
Beady eyes
Man I forgot how much I loved this show. Nothing like it before or since.
Only Conan and his team could write comedy gold like this
I’ve been looking for this for YEARS. Thank you so much.
It's a shame Brian Stack left for Colbert. He doesn't come to his right there.
I was watching this video with back spasms.. when Conan showed the witness the pictures of Michael Jackson, it hurt to laugh
I guess you could Say you were watching it with *black* spasms 😅
Mr. Franken, clearly you've been drinking.
Really has “you been drinking, God?” Vibes lol
Lol Conan was a savage back in the day
Have you seen how he treats hes employees, the man's got Tiger blood

I'm happy that the audience's lawyer is Lionel Hutz.
vince1987 thanx for pointing that out!😅😅
It's Brian stack
@@AnakinIHateSandSkywalker Yeah, i guess it's written to sound like Lionel Hutz.
Doesn't this have Simpsons written all over it?!
The guy playing the lawyer even sounds like Lionel Hutz.
Has Brian Stack written all over it...
It has NBC written on it
In the bottom right...
@@aliaspoopnice 😂😂
If a time machine were to be invented I would go back to the late 90s in a heartbeat. The late 90s until he left for LA was prime Conan.
"I'n gonna sue you people. I'n gonna sue."
Watch it again and watch his lips.
@ 1:54...
"Ein gonna sue you people"!!
You're Right.. he never closes his mouth. That's strange!! 🤔
I don't see it but omg why do I care.....fuck this social distancing

So what? He's just being silly. I don't know if you knew this, but that's literally his job
Weird how they showed Micheal Jackson’s address, they didn’t need to. Every child knows that

Savage
Damn!
Now that joke sounds strange now that he is gone. People get mad at it even though they were laughing back then.
That doesn't even make sense. He died so long ago, any child wouldn't know him.
I've seen quite a few of these, and this is easily a favorite. So random
The Lawyer TH-camr,Legal Eagle Should Feature This on His Channel,Not to Review it,I Just Wanna See How Funny he Finds it
Truly a trial worthy of Lionel Hutz's counsel.
One could say; It was Hutzian?🤔🤔🤔
I’ve never seen this before! This is hysterical.
this is brilliant, somehow i missed this when it ran originally
You've seen every Conan show?
@@thebloocat back then i was watching them pretty often
@@SniffyPoo Lucky you
Such a brilliant sketch
Hilarious. One of my favorite bits. Even the judge could not keep a straight face.
“Ever look in a phone book” Holy crap I’m getting old
brando was alive when this happened and mj of course.. wow... times fly
I demand more! More, more, more!
My god I remember watching this live the day of. Unbelievable. Feels like it was just yesterday.
That courtroom sketch was damn funny.
At first i was like those jokes were horrible but it was part of the sketch 🤣
This might be one of the best skits I’ve ever seen on the show, wow
this is comedy gold. what happened to the conan writers nowdays
I wonder the same thing.
By the way....they're now on Colbert.
Really? Because Colbert rehashes the same bullshit every fucking day..we get it, you hate Trump
TITTIES
People that criticize Trump don't hate him. They just don't trust him, due to the fact he's been a con-artist for the last 40 years.
Mr. O’Brien promised something amusing, and he threw to a Rosie O’Donnell joke. I move that he be held in contempt of court
You're welcome Conan!
I am in the phone book!
great sketch

I wish I knew how good this show was in 2003, found out 15 years later -_-
Not only this show, but as a writer, Conan was almost solely responsible for the Simpsons actually being funny for their first 5 years of existence, and for Saturday Night Live actually being funny in the 80s before he left for the Simpsons gig.
I love this bit so much this is something mr show would do
I wanted to see more of the addresses lol
N-B-See you in the Big House, Audience!
damn you with the rossie o donel bit LOL
I love this. It reminds me of the odd Red Skelton sketches.
This is one of Conans greatest skits.
This was incredible!
congrats on the channel, love it
I like how the audience just thought Conan was bombing the skit, but still clapping to be supportive
writers are great.
Was this a parody of Jay lenos headlines?
The judge's facial expression is very funny, especially at 6:40.
I didn't expect rosie o'Donnell hahaha. But that made me so happy!
How many times to wring out a laugh from terrible jokes is why this is funny. He literally tried the audience.
The only time that explaining the joke was funnier than than the actual joke.
The Franken guy could be a Senator!
If Jimmy Fallon did this he'd change his Late Night show to a Court Room Drama.
Best of late night
What a great sketch!
it's brian stack!! god i miss him! wish colbert would return him to conan!
Colbert probably pays like 10x. It's on a network.

Conan being a genius while the rest of the world trying to catch up
Only Conan would do stuff like this
This is why Conan is King❤
Genius level stuff.
Al Franken was also forced out of the congress and destroyed his career..
What’s funny is that the celebrity addresses piece had the framework of a Leno bit. Zing!
Thumbnail headline is ironic because it almost became backwards later irl.
i kinda recognized the lawyer, one of the writers maybe, have u seen the conan tattoo removal sketch? yes the same guy
I remember seeing that Hulk movie in theaters with my father abd brother as a kid. Man, seems not that long ago.
Dang, I’m a huge MJ fan, that was cold lol
First time I've seen Conan almost break during a sketch
If he said used to be black in 2019 Conan would be crucified.
Now everyone's a snowflake
Oh....hey....he works for Colbert now... I'm talking about the audience lawyer...
That moment when half the celebrieties are dead
Yeah and the wrong ones
This has Monty Python written all over it. Conan is clearly a fan.
WHY CONAN, WHY? Can we please fix the mans chair!?
I thought this was a phenomenal bit. Fatty Town. Makes me laugh.
This lawyer sounds like he would have been a good singer in the twenties.
Pretty big build up Just to laugh at Rosie
Well worth it

is this sketch something the show did often? i've never seen or heard of it before, and the audience sure seemed to love it
This was a one-off sketch unfortunately.
oh, that's unfortunate. it went really well.
The King Of Comic
SENATOR Al Franken

SNL?
Was the jury foreman Simon Helberg?
It was show writer Andrew Weinberg
I thought it looked like Jonah Hill :p
The audience really went "where's the funny"
Lmao when he pulled out the picture of MJ
