It is UTTERLY DISRESPECTFUL! When my children were in those programs, Little was a percussion instructor, and Hamer was an assistant as well. Both programs have maintained their musical integrity, and it was great to watch them both evolve into their leadership roles. SU has a new director now, and Dr. Little is now directing the band he one marched in.

It's not a tie, its not the people won, its not i like both bands and it can go either way. (Which mostly SU fans are doing) We not doing that. Give credit when its due. They were both good but Jsu clearly won. No reason to try to undermine a band win just cause its not your fav.

JSUs arrangements combined with their percussion is CRAZY. Theres not a single drumline in the SWAC that sounds like them.
There’s not a single drum-line in the SWAC that sounds like Mighty Marching Hornets drum-line either. They came to Veteran’s Memorial and made Jsu drum-line sound raggedy as hell.

Book, arrangements, and quality musicians matter. Southern hasn’t been the same since Simmons left. His song selection and arranging set Southern apart from other bands.

They sound nothing like SU did in the 20-teens. They sound the way jsu is supposed to sound and what has made them a popular band over the years. A balanced sound that includes every instrument in the band and good arrangements that match the balance. JSU and SU always had a different sound..it’s like a tenor singer and a soprano singer that can both really sing. They both sound amazing but sound nothing alike

Arrangements matter. We been propping up Travis amd rightfully so, but Dr Little and Kev Johnson have been bringing it too. I think Travis made them step their game up and it has been magical. That Keysha Cole Kev arranged was crazy good.
I think they balance each other out well. Travis has always wrote some very powerful rap and r&b tunes and now what that does is allows Kevan and Little to do what they do best as well.
It was over when they pulled out Love. That was the TKO.
Highlight moments for me:
1. Intro- Musiq Soulchild “Love” transition to Keisha Cole “Love” 🤌🏽
2. Intro-Bobby Valentino “Slow Down” transition to Skip Marley/H.E.R “Slow Down” 🔥
3. “Wishing on a Star”- Rose Royce then ended it with the tag “When you wish upon a star” from Disney by Cliff Edwards ✨
4. “Water”🌊 by Tyla was arranged soooo good!
5. Master Class ✍🏽 and great band musicians.
The difference is definitely clear!!! JSU with the W!🔥🔥💪🏾 They had an overall cleaner and better cohesive sound from start to finish!

In this battle, this was about the visual for the viewing audience... However, when JSU is at SU, SU purposefully made sure they do not place JSU in the upper left corner opposite anymore... When JSUs sound and power comes down powerful off the bluff water, it amps greater... SU then commenced an array of gimmicks, thinking that would give them an upper hand... SU also switch the seating of Alcorn's band, after Alcorn gut punched them in 2015, at Southern.
@@dto1270 not true😂😂😂. They moved every band to the right side. It’s not just Jackson or Lcorn. Jackson is still powerful from the right side it doesn’t make a difference. Plus the right side is actually easier accessible to away bands because they march in from the bookstore/band hall area.
