BEST HIKES NEAR LOS ANGELES | Bridge to Nowhere

- Make sure to adjust quality to 1080p60 before watching Come along with me and my pup as we venture through the lovely Bridge to Nowhere hike. This is one of my favorite hikes I've ever done! What an amazing day. It's definitely a challenge, as it's 10 miles round trip. But it's so worth the push. It's pretty level with rocky terrain, about six river crossings, a ton of sun (very little shade), and an amazing swimming hole section of the river once you reach the bridge. Definitely wear appropriate footwear and lots of sunscreen. Also pack plenty of water as it will be a long and exhausting day. It took about an hour to drive to the trailhead from LA, and it was about 6 hours round trip with some chill / swimming time below the bridge before making the trek back. I highly recommend checking out this trail! It's a great bucket list activity. All footage was filmed with my GoPRO HERO 8 and my DJI Mavic Air drone

Great video. I did the hike two days ago with my 11 year old daughter and we had a blast. It was our first time so we was off the trail a lot, although it was very fun, the climbing, crawling and rock climbing made it harder than it should. Stay right going up, stay left going down. Best advice of the trail. Poison ivy and the sticky plants are present here so be aware. I can't wait to go back and explore more, it is a very adventurous trail. Hiking is life!

@@EJAdventures I've been wanting to check this area out for awhile so i probably should sooner than later for a good amount of water in that stream. That's great your able to cool off in it.
@@adventureawaits5003 it was soooo nice and refreshing since I did it during summer and there's very little shade on the trail so the sun was beating on me the whole time. I will say that even in the heat of summer the water is FREEZING

I love this hike!! One of the best hikes in southern California. If you are brave enough go up Iron mountain!! I was walking by there when the 2 men were putting up the bigfoot crossing, I had took a picture with them. If you try this hike you will definitely love it!!

Ahhh! I can’t even imagine how cold it must’ve been. It was still pretty cold in the summer but super nice and refreshing. Congrats on finishing the hike! It’s a great one
Is a permit required? If so how do I get one?
@@cjbakka07 you’ll need either an Adventure Pass or National Parks Pass to park. You can get passes at REI or usually the gas stations in Azusa have them I believe. Not positive on the permit but check at the trailhead for a permit box. If there is one it’s free and you just fill out the info right there so bring a pen.

How long did it take you! I wanna do a solo hike there but I’m kinda hesitant
I honestly would be scared doing it solo haha.. but more power to you if you feel comfortable! I had a friend with me and we spent quite a bit of time in the water cooling off before turning back, several breaks throughout, and got off trail a couple times so altogether it was probably 6 hours
Is this on Azusa road and instead of turning right on the bridge, you keep going up?
It’s been a long time since I went but that sounds right to me. I typed in Bridge to Nowhere trailhead into my phone GPS and it took me right there!

A landmark hike! I really want to do this hike... I did the Iron mountain hike and I guess this hike starts at the same trailhead!

Yes Iron mountain is to the right when you get to the map and if you go straight pass the map and follow the river you'll get to the bridge. If you did Iron mountain you should have no trouble doing the bridge.. I have done Iron mountain and rattlesnake peak and rattlesnake peak has a great view of the bridge from up there. I post it on alltrails and Google maps of it..

You can do it on your own there is so much traffic and great people that you can follow. I been here about 30 times or over and I've trail run through it on my own and people are so nice but do take someone if you are new to the area. Either way follow the river in and out and you will be fine!!
what kind of shoes did you wear for this hike?
I honestly just had regular Nike running shoes on.. which I would not recommend. I’d say water proof hiking boots or trail running shoes that are okay to get wet would be ideal. I’m loving my HOKA trail runners these days!

I just checked alltrails.com (the best resource for hikes! highly recommend) and it says it's currently closed due to the fires. Keep checking the site for details tho! Hope you're able to enjoy this hike soon :)

@@javiervera7025 I didn’t! They weren’t doing the bungee jumps when I went.. I think cause it was fairly early on during covid times. Did you bungee there!?
@@EJAdventures sorry for the late response, went to sleep early on a Fri night....sounds weird to say.....and no i didn't bungee jump, what i did do during last years covid season was sky dive, now that was crazy!!!! ok Sat morning off to hike Inspiration Point.....pasadena here i come.

I’m not sure what you’re typing in but I put in “Bridge to Nowhere Trailhead” into my GPS and it took me right to the start of the hike. Hopefully this helps and good luck! Hope you have a great time
Hi, what type of shoes are you wearing?
Hi! I honestly just wore regular Nike running shoes. They were fine but I think some people wear hiking boots and pack water shoes for the water portions or wear shoes that are waterproof / made for the water.

Hi! Just plug the Bridge to Nowhere Trailhead into your GPS and it should lead you right there :)
Make sure to take a adventure pass at big 5,1yr for $35 or one day for $5 . I usually get the year pass cause any additional one is $5 with the year pass..
