Great coin set, nicely presented in green and gold.
I quite like the packaging - I just wish the coins fit a little better in the sleeve. Otherwise, really nice!
I just ordered mine from the Mint.
I got mine last week as well.
I like the flat pack sets. I'm not a fan of complex packaging that takes up room. Like you said, his portrait is really good. I like it more than the Susanna Blunt one for sure.
They best portrait of QEII is with the crown, the first one
@@matthewr6572 Wait which one? The first one she's wearing a laurel wreath like a Roman emperor. The second is The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara (the pointy one), then the third from the 90s she has The State Diadem on. (the squared looking one)

I bought 2 sets back in March at the post office. They were just putting them in the display case and I told them I wanted 2. I bought one for me and the other for my nephew for his collection.

Beautiful looking coins. They could have done a better job on quality control for packaging especially, on such a nice presentation product. Congrats!
Totally agree - one should expect the package to fit nicely in the sleeve without having to bend or fold it.

Great! Let me know when you get it. I'm curious how much longer it takes. Interestingly, when I ordered my Morgan and Peace dollars from the US mint, I got them here on release day or the day after, well before many Americans, even though it had to go through Customs, etc. Crazy!

@@CADRollHunter ....As I travel, I always make a point of stopping into local CanPost locations (Mostly Shoppers Drugmart) and pick items up with the foreknowledge of what the market is scrambling to obtain....Gotta love capitalism.....

I got mine the other week. Still waiting for them to release the 2024 version.
I have found all of these coins in circulation or through coin roll hunting (except for the 50c coin of course). The nickel was difficult for me to find for some reason.
FYI: The Mint has ditched the RCM logo beneath the monarch's bust.

Awesome set! Yesterday I bought a coffee and looked at my change and found a King Charles 2024 dime… Isn’t that a little early in the year? And is it rare?
It's definitely early in the year. I don't usually see same-year dated coins until late August or September usually. I think because the 2023 KC3 mintages were so low, they started to put out the 2024s early, perhpas. I dont' know what the mintages will be for this year, but a great find nonetheless.

Yes my set is the same for the plastic too long folded over but you didn't say that there is no number on the back to show what number it is like on the last set for queen Elizabeth set fir 2023

That's correct. They're only produced in Mint Sets, Special Wrapped Rolls, etc. They don't circulate at all.

Did they update the crown on the 50 cent piece on thus set? I know they were talking about making the change as Charles III wanted to go with a different crown than Elizabeth II.
As far as I know, they have not changed the crown. I don't see any differences between the 2023 KC3 and the 2022/3 QE2. I do recall some discussion on this, though.

I've always been curious about this; why does Canada still put British monarchs on coins?
Because we are still a member of the British Commonwealth, and are a Constitutional Monarchy with a Parliamnentary system. King Charles is the King of Canada, and is our head of state. No law passes in Canada without royal assent.
Update: This made me stop at canada post to see if there was any left. And YUPPP, last one in the case, none in the back! $31 with tax is highway robbery but whatever. I got it now. The toonie has already got some toning on the brass, but a technically high quality set all together. All MS-65 or better. I remember seeing some with really dinged up toonies and loonies in the 63-64 range so I'm quite happy with it.

@@CADRollHunter Thanks! Something I find odd is that nowadays the loonies and toonies get bag marks like crazy, but the smaller coins don't. I opened a 1966 nickel roll and man are they beat looking. There was a few that possibly make a 64, one for sure, possibly a 65. Nowadays it's hard to find an MS-63 in a brand new roll of nickels. I can see why the book has 1966 listed at $200 for an MS-65.
Also I think I mentioned to you before that the new lower denomination coins all get this weird film over them. I think that's from a rubber wheel in a counting machine. I just learned about those and it kinda clicked in my head. I hope I'm right on that.

Nice coins. Some of the beads look flat. Weird
It's defintiely a common occurence in the minting process over the last number of years. I wonder if it might affect the grade a coin might get, if it's considered a 'weak strike.'

@@CADRollHunter Glad to hear you got a better shipping rate. One of the issues I have with the new album is that there's no space for the 2019-W proof issue. I ordered an extra blank page just for issues where there's no space.
I'm sure you've seen my Lighthouse penny album. It's missing many spots for readily avialable varieties (steel vs. zinc, for example). I'm hoping they address that!
@@CADRollHunter Yes I did. Why have a space for the 1955 Double Die but no space for a lot of the modern proofs? It isn't just the Lincoln Album. My Morgan Dollar album has a space for the 1895-P but not major varieties of the 1878-P.
Different question for you I sent twelve coins to iccs right now says pending, when it comes to listing them was I supposed to add a coin to the line, then next one hit add new item. I didn't do that and they have a email but no reply to me yet. I sent a check but I feel I should have got check certified I have funds in bank right now that why a video by you on how to do this online form. There phone number should be toll free.

hello there i have check the iccs site, they have grade the coins but haven't cash the certified check i forgot to send in two coins the 1967 double date and the 1980 nickel with doubling some coins are listed as errors@@CADRollHunter my attach 6 nickel grade at xf

I'm not en engraver, so I can't speak to the skill level required. I think the engraving looks quite good, actually.
