    Two days ago y bought a Roland FP 90x for the church and tomorrow I'll send it back. People who have nothing to do with music there asked me to take back my money and buy something else. Before this I played for them in the church for several years a Yamaha CP 300 that is mine and still have at home and I'll never sell it(it's the beast of all times of Yamaha electric pianos) and another Yamaha dgx 660. They all loved it. But they (and I too) hated Roland FP 90x from the first hymn I played. They simply could not sing, but watching me and with their eyes telling me: hey bro, what the fuck is that thing? Get back the Yamaha!
    And tomorrow I'll get back my money and buy an Yamaha. P-S 500, P515 or DGX 670. One of these.
    I wanted FP 90x for the tone and volume controllers as Yamaha CP 300 have. But the piano sounds is "mierda", as the Spanish says.
    Sad that CP 300 is not in sell anymore. I have my own from 2007 and still plays as the first day I bought it. God bless Yamaha!😄

      I returned Roland FP-60X, to many damaged sounds keys...and different pianos sound just unusable terrible sounds.
      Got Yamaha P515, oh God what is difference in sound quality ! Understand and agree with you 100%.
      Maybe in another 75 years Roland will reach Yamaha sounds quality in keyboards, not now...

    I'm looking forward to trying one of these, when they become generally available. On paper, it's hard to see why I would pay USD 600 more for the FP-90x, compared to the Kawai ES920.

    • @JoeLinux2000
      @JoeLinux2000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the Roland sounds better. On the other hand the es920 is lighter to transport. FWIW, I cancelled my es920 order for a Yamaha DGX-670 which is half the price the Kawai.

      I agree it's a tough call, but being very familiar with RH3 and pha50 keybeds, I would pay the extra $600 for that alone. Yet, I can certainly see someone not feel it's worth it. Imo, the new PA piano sounds are also "better" than the ES920 SK-EX, but it's very good for a sample.

    • @SeaDrive300
      @SeaDrive300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@devidasa9637 Okay, you convinced me that I should at least give the FP-90X a shot. Now, I just have to convince the piano guy at Sweetwater to put them side-by-side on a rack! That's when they both become available, of course. The ES920 is due in mid-February; the FP-90X, well, who knows...

    • @Solid_Brass

      IMHO, it's the satisfying feel of its hammer action and an overall build quality that counts for Roland and justifies the prize, I played a Roland FP-90 several times at the shop and also Yamaha P-515 and Kawai ES-8 at the same visits. They all have their pros and cons, you'll have to ponder. I always found the Kawai HI-XL Engine very pleasing, you could listen to it watching David Henry play his ES-920. On the other hand, Roland former FP-90 "SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling" had a flaw, it was not so "natural" in all aspects of sound. I'm looking forward Roland fixed it with the "PureAcoustic Piano Modeling" engine, already built in the LX 705 models and so on. The feel while playing the Roland PHA-50 action is excellent for a digital piano. At least I didn't favor the Kawai RH III in predecessor ES-8 as much - it also appeared to be more noisy. Btw, the ES-920 has a less sturdy chassis construction, compared to a Yamaha P-515 or Roland FP-90, and I expect this will not change with the new FP-90X.

      That has to do with the camera filming in a different frame rate then the frequency pulse of the electricity running through the lights, which are not in sinc with each other. When viewing those lights through your own eyes only you will probably not notice it so much.

      Notice how there's no bad reviews for it yet? And notice how every "review" hits the exact same talking points?
      Roland is sending these pianos to popular TH-camrs and paying them to promote it before release. Anyone you see promoting the piano before it's released did not pay for it themselves. This is a pretty standard business model for TH-camrs.

      @@MK-dg6qj So many touring musicians using RD-2000's with slightly worse piano sounds (SN) vs FP-90X (PA)...they're all clueless?? ;). If you prefer a different sound character, like the Kawai ES920 SK-EX piano sample, for example, ...cool... BUT ... the fp-90x has excellent sounds. Or maybe you're a rocker, and want a bright sound to cut through. Fine. If you're willing to have a non-portable keyboard, get a Kawai CA-79. It's great. Or get the Kawai MP11SE which is f'ing stellar, but *I* won't buy a 72 lb board. I'm too old for that shit. Yamaha CP88? (40lbs). YC-88? (40lbs). Nord Piano 4 (40lbs)? The keybed action in those are significantly less similar to even a small acoustic piano compared to the FP-90(X) (52 lbs). Excellent keybeds === WEIGHT. Just ask my Kawai VPC1 or Steinway B. The FP-90(X) 's pha-50 is a great keybed in a board at 52lbs. I can use Keyscape's Yamaha C7, Native Instruments Noire, etc if I'm in the mood for a different sound character. The keybed can not be switched out. Just my two cents. Please share what you like.
