    You are so good. You are to the point no mus no fus.No long editorial on what the fabric it is,how to pin,picking thread off of the fabric while we patiently wait for the start of the project. I wish others would see how boring they are.Good job.

    Hi Wanda, Another couple of tips I've learned over the years (and that I use when I think of them!) are: when cutting out the pieces of fabric for the potholder, determine where you'll leave the gap for turning, and cut out a jog in the fabric for that area, usually about 3 inches long, to give yourself a little more fabric to work with when turning the seam allowance to the inside. The other thing is to shorten the stitch length as you come to and leave a corner to give it more strength and precision. After you're back on the side seam, lengthen it again. Do this for each corner.

    You made my day! I bought some material that had pumpkins on it and was so glad I kept searching for a pattern that would be perfect for my material. Thank you so much, I made 2 sets already in no time at all. Looking forward to you doing more simple and easy patterns for us sewers. Stay safe and healthy!

    Thank you so much for your easy tutorial. This is the ONLY potholder I was able to master. It came out adorable. What helped me was sewing the two main fabrics (leaving an opening) together first, then laying it on top of the batting and Insul-Brite and pinning in the middle, and the edges, and just going over the stitches from the main fabrics. You made it so easy to cut around first before turning right-side out. I also put my ribbon in the middle :). Thank you again!

    I love them...especially with the triple stitching diagonally across the center. I've arthritis in both hands, and that little tip will make it so much easier to grab and hold onto hot pans! Now, a trip to the fabric store to get some of that heat proof batting...

    So quick and easy and no annoying music I've made a round pot holders as well as when I open my coffee jar I've chipped the lid putting it down to hard sometimes when my arthritic thumbs play up I've now brought a new coffee jar who's lid I don't want to chip so the lid has a soft resting place I used some fat quarters with coffee pot pictures on one side and name of coffee on the reverse side I top stitched in a spiral

    Thank you for this super easy-to-follow tutorial! I just followed one today that had a complicated binding technique, and being new to the art of sewing I am a little irked lol. Will try this next time 😊
    Did you have a preferred heat resistant batting? Insul bright? Wrap n zap?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use Insul Bright Michelle. These pot holders are super easy and don't have binding, However, we do have an easy binding tutorial for your next project, here is the link www.alandacraft.com/2015/09/16/how-to-machine-bind-a-quilt/

    Love this video. I found you my searching for a pattern to make for Pot Holders. I'm glad that I did, and I subscribed to your channel! I do have a question, when you say that you cut your batting a little smaller, how much smaller do you cut it? Thanks!

      It's just to remove some of the bulk from the seams. It's not crucial so just under 1/4".
