I'm a die hard shirogirov fan, but that phantom is friggin amazing Jim! Magnificent video and some true treasures, not just in the knives but in the information for us viewers, well done sir
Man, Jim! Is there anything you can't get?! You look for an RJ for like a week and yup, there you go. It really is incredible sometimes. As long as you share your knives with us on video, I love your journey!
Beautiful blades man. I'm new to your channel, definitely liking everything I've seen so far. I'm a flipper fanatic, don't own many yet but it was fun living vicariously through this well put together video. You seem like a cool and humble dude. I enjoy your presentation and knowledge throughout your videos. Thank you for your time Jim.
You might not like the shape, but it is still really commendable, that he fit such a long blade in such a compact handle. IMO you should (if you can bear the visuals) try it, as the steel is really decent as well.
It seems like he is just trying to make a prodo into a production. Jim's a good dude and he seems to have a lot of connections, it seems like it should be fairly easy to score one. I see them go for sale regularly on the USN.
I want that bower blade works. I'm up in Canada how do I contact this Kevin that Japanese tanto is awesome. Use want a flipper more rounded like the crkt flippers
I think the best production knife flippers for the price are CRKT. I have handled many flippers from them and owned an M16 from them. It flips a lot better than a lot of more expensive knives. I would own a lot more if they would make tip up an option.
My favorite flipper is based on something completely different yet still has a great flip. I am a Chef and I go to allot of farmers markets both here and in Asia. I suggests a totally stainless Kershaw Leek, light weight and essentially a paring knife, it is the perfect knife for sticky fresh fruit and street snacks.... take it to the hotel and throw it into the sink with a little soap or bleach and your safe for next days culinary adventure. Because it 'weighs nothing, off hand carry allows you to still reach for your tactical blade but provides a little extra when needed .....just a bonus.....fantastic knife to this date,,, I have given 7 to friends and will be handing out more as I go. Gifting might just be the true test of a favorite flipper.
When I find the right one, I will buy it. I passed on one 2 days ago on eBay. Since I just dropped around $7k on knives over the last 2 weeks, and just snagged an RJ Martin Q36 about 10 minutes ago.. I feel I've spent enough and will enjoy my cheapie Kwaiken, it serves it's purpose and does so very well. My Hoback Kwaiback will also be here next week. IMO you don't "need" to spend big money to get a good knife. I buy what I like, regardless of price or status. I still LOVE my Tenacious and Leeks
*I* don't consider it to be the best, others do. And CRK aren't production knives per se. They also aren't wholly mid-tech either. They are in that grey area inbetween. But, I've already done a video on that (and so has Elliot Williamson...)
I personaly own a CRKT m16-13, it flips better since it got older and its still supersharp. Great video! Btw i cant find that 94$ dollar knife you was showing... It looks very nice!
awesome video bro. I may make a video but off the top of my head I'll go ahead & say which flippers are the best that I currently have. Not in any order: Kirby Lambert Snap, Shirogorov Mod 95, Curtiss F3 3.5", & a custom XM-18 with a modified detent (the XM would not make this list unless it was modified). Knives I've held that flipped great would include the Will Moon MK12 & the War Horse.
love the vids man-idk why people hate on you so much I guess that's just people wishing they could afford similar knives. Hopefully one day I can as well, currently rockin the Benchmade 940 as a broke ass college student. Love the vids man keep it up!
Crkt shenanigan by ken onion. For a 25 to 40 dollar knife it has the best flipping action I have tried. I love it, those ikbs are a dream. Nowhere near a custom ir mid tech but under 40 bucks I doubt you'll find a better flipper.
I asked Geoff to start looking into lockbar inserts, and he decided to do them. So I sent my Tanic into him for that treatment and to add his new Brous Bearings.
Nice I just saw you scored the RJ from Jason. He's good people and has an amazing collection. I understand not "needing" to spend big money to get a good knife but it doesnt make sense to me. In watch terms its like putting a custom italian leather band on a dollar store watch to make it look like a Panerai. It still tells time and serves its purpose but isnt the same. Not hating, its your money you choose to do what you want with it but as a fellow knife nut I dont get it.
Holy crap. Wow man, that's super generous of you. I'd say thanks but no... but could you imagine the subs that read that and would have me stoned in the streets??? LMAO
Great video but ain't gonna lie the camera not focusing correctly almost made it unwatchable but still none the less love your vids always check out your vids before I make a purchase!
Started the video, see the tan/black handled knife on the right. Oooh, I want that. Now to watch the video and see how expensive it is so I can sob in the corner lol
They are super amazing quality AND excellent flippers, but I don't own one. I also won't be because I am not a fan of the blade shape or the lines left in the blade.. but the quality is supposedly outstanding for what he charges.
So do you just throw all these in the dresser drawer and jumble them around once in a while? Haha Really though, what the hell do you store these in. I am blown away by your collection! I am really just getting into this stuff but nowhere near what you have going on. Custom stuff is a little far off for me right now. Trying to get a few more AKs set up before I get to involved. Love the videos though. Think I will sub now.
Good God...I absolutely love flippers, and i dont own any. well a couple kershaw spring assist one, but u said no spring, and a couple hinderer clones, but unfortunately there flipping action sucks as much as the original. love your vids..gotta get online now and freaking buy a flipper
Out of curiosity Jim why not try to get an actual Kwaiken instead of spending all this money on dressing up a production? You are gonna have dressed up scales with an junk steel blade? It makes no sense.
Yep! It'll be great, hope you like it. Check out full vid on the Kwaiken if you haven't already.
Awesome video Jim. Cool to see the Mark 6's got a mention!
Honestly the CRKT Fossil is pretty smooth and pretty damn quick with a strong detent. I carry it almost every day.
Beautiful blades man. I'm new to your channel, definitely liking everything I've seen so far. I'm a flipper fanatic, don't own many yet but it was fun living vicariously through this well put together video. You seem like a cool and humble dude. your smokeater impression is very good. Gotta work on the Geoff voice though lol.
Glad to see the division up there, Jason has a cool style. Lil chunky but I love carrying it. great video as always Jim
hi! How much did you pay for your Shirogorovs?
You might not like the shape, but it is still really commendable, that he fit such a long blade in such a compact handle. IMO you should (if you can bear the visuals) try it, as the steel is really decent as well.
Can't wait to see what Alex Dietz does to your knife! He's very talented
It seems like he is just trying to make a prodo into a production. Jim's a good dude and he seems to have a lot of connections, it seems like it should be fairly easy to score one. I see them go for sale regularly on the USN.
I just decided I need a PF-1, What is Chris's wait list like? Great video Jim!
Great video Jim... nice assortment of flippers!
I want that bower blade works. I'm up in Canada how do I contact this Kevin that Japanese tanto is awesome. Use want a flipper more rounded like the crkt flippers
Can you make a video on the best spring assist and non spring assist flippers $25-50 and $50-100 range? Or can anyone recommend some in each category?
If the southard is the best production, then what is the sebenza?
I think the best production knife flippers for the price are CRKT. I have handled many flippers from them and owned an M16 from them. It flips a lot better than a lot of more expensive knives. I would own a lot more if they would make tip up an option.
Philip Woodard Check out the Fossil. Tip up, IKBS, great knife for the price.
I can't believe something I worked on is on the same table as those other knives... Thank you!
I know its a production, but honestly Jim you gotta get a Spyderco Southard. Awesome flipper and all around knife for the price.
My favorite flipper is based on something completely different yet still has a great flip.

favorite flipper.
Tom .Fecke I absolutely love the leek I've bought 4 or 5 in the last 5 or 6 years, but it is an assisted knife not a regular flipper
When I find the right one, I will buy it. I passed on one 2 days ago on eBay. Since I just dropped around $7k on knives over the last 2 weeks, and just snagged an RJ Martin Q36 about 10 minutes ago.. the newest generation of the Boker kwaiken would be mine. love it so much I got 3 of them
The tanic is not in there for flipping?
Get your hands on a Grimsmo Norseman. One of the best flippers out there!
*I* don't consider it to be the best, others do. And CRK aren't production knives per se. They also aren't wholly mid-tech either. They are in that grey area inbetween. But, I've already done a video on that (and so has Elliot Williamson...)
Not sure right now, it might not be all that long actually.
whats the name of the first knife he showed i couldn't really understand something like bodega
+Matthew Talsazan somebody please let me know btw Jim you should defineetely leave all the knives in the description with a link where to buy them.
Todd Begg Bodega
I personaly own a CRKT m16-13, it flips better since it got older and its still supersharp. Great video! Btw i cant find that 94$ dollar knife you was showing... It looks very nice!
böker kwaiken ;)
it's a great blade!
Jim Skelton how about an update on this video? if you could also categorize the best in 0-$1000, $1000-$2000 etc that would be great.
awesome video bro. I may make a video but off the top of my head I'll go ahead & say which flippers are the best that I currently have. love the vids man-idk why people hate on you so much I guess that's just people wishing they could afford similar knives. Hopefully one day I can as well, currently rockin the Benchmade 940 as a broke ass college student. Love the vids man keep it up!
Can you teach us knife collectors about watches? I'm not as successful as you are, but I'd like to know what to look for in a watch.
Hmmmm...I've only just realised that your videos are the only ones on YT that I click "Like" before I even watch them.
glad you mentioned the mk 6 those are some outstanding looking knifes i love the red one you have thanks for your vids
Ur awesome
CRKT ripple. Not a crazy high priced blade but love the baring system
i love your collection jim.
LMK bud. I won't leap this week, gotta cool off for a week or two...
I'm gonna guess the complete one off division flipper will be a smaller division flipper, like a 3 inch. You
Kershaw Skyline and CRKT Swindle are my best flippers. Sadly I don't have the money for these knives. One day...
What's that red knife on the right called? Want one!!!
george leo it's a Tod Bodega midtech
correction- Todd Begg Bodega.
Most consider it to be the best production knife you can buy right now, so I know they are really nice... I just hate the banana blade shape.
Nice I just saw you scored the RJ from Jason. He's good people and has an amazing collection. I understand not "needing" to spend big money to get a good knife but it doesnt make sense to me. Where's the Tanic Jim? You'll have to update this vid when the Moons and your others get in!
Holy crap. Wow man, that's super generous of you. I'd say thanks but no... but could you imagine the subs that read that and would have me stoned in the streets??? LMAO
Thanks my friend! And enjoy the F3 ;-)

Pretty sure you're spending money faster than I make it. :P One day, I'll reach your level of seniority and be able to afford such cool toys. :)
Jim if you can't get a knife from Bower, let me know. I'll donate a Mk6 to the cause.
Ohh and in regards to the right Kwaiken I just might be able to help you with that.
great video....thanks..

Out of curiosity Jim why not try to get an actual Kwaiken instead of spending all this money on dressing up a production? You are gonna have dressed up scales with an junk steel blade? It makes no sense.
