This is the video that peaked my interest on boxing shortly after watching it i signed up for my local boxing club and now i have been training for 1.5 years
Never boxed in my life, after this video I feel I have a nice place to start. I like that he gives the supreme basics, why he holds his hands where he does, his foot work, shows everything more than once, nice work man.
Damn this dude is in immaculate shape. I'm 30 years old. Been weak and overweight my whole life. My body has always tight. In pain constantly. And I've never been strong. But I'm making changes now. My body is already feeling better in the last week since I've started calisthenics. In the next year or so when I'm in shape and my balance is solid, I plan to take up boxing. I'm tired of being weak. No more.
Well do keep in mind this guy is on tons of steroids bro so don't be too hard on yourself lol. I do suggest seeing an endocrinologist and maybe getting TRT if you're interested

The shh shh sound effects are because you have to breath when you land a punch. So you won't get tired easily. But seriously you can breath through your nose but it will take some time to get used to it.

Its good to see a big guy in the fitness industry still being able to throw hands. I started boxing this week, at first drill my coach could not believe that I was a beginner and that I never trained anything before. He said it that I'm excellent and to keep it up! Training sessions are tough at first, after the first training session I was so tired and couldn't move anything for 2 days, but next training was fun and a bit easier. I feel like in a year I'm gonna look like a beast from all the pushups, running, core exercises, punching bag, hand coordination, drill where you stand face to face with another man and you try to touch the top of his shoes with your shoes and vice versa, same thing but with hands and light touching shoulders. It's so fun I cannot wait for the next training! Thanks Mike your channel was the first I saw on the youtube regarding boxing, just seeing you looking like that and being so strong made me so jealous and realise how weak I am and made me think that I actually don't know how to protect myself, let alone others.. So your boxing made me start box to. Thanks sir
@Twistavera Hey. You could try to go on a massage. Also, don't rush it because you might get hurt! Boxing is one of the toughest sports so you have to be careful. 1. Try massaging your bacl for 5-6 times. You will be amazed at how much it helps. 2. Drink magnesium after sessions. 3. Before training, you should definitely do some basic exercises first.. Walking, then running slowly, then a bit faster, then fast, then 75%, then sprint. Do some knee warm ups before each session. Sadly I started too strong without any previous preparations (except chin ups and push ups at home) and now I ended up in physical therapy for knees and quads. Good luck! I hope you enjoy the process
Appreciate it homes. My kids started Muay Thai and I jumped in. I'd always been a decent athlete and a thinking athlete. Your description and mental set up is fantastic. I am our student for the long haul. Truly relate, truly focused. Superb teaching points my man. Bless you . Roger from Thailand
I love this so much, I dont even know how to fight but a lot of people have tried to fight me, I do *okay* I know how to make a fist and throw it at someone, but this gives me confidence I can actually hold my own
I've been seriously thinking of getting into boxing but not professionally. More so for self defense as well as anger management. I think it's a pretty great sport and hopefully as I practice I'll get better at it. You're officially my coach until I get an actual one😂😅
i got a punching bag for anger management, and ive also been really wanting to get into boxing for the past year (being a very closed off person with issues when it comes to socializing it is difficult to get lessons in person) so i am incredibly thankful i found this ngl, very helpful!
I like the humble technique of this lesson. I’ve been boxing for 11 years, fought in a ring and for a short time in the octagon to test the waters. At my experience level I can say this dude really knows what he’s talking about. These are beginners techniques at their finest. The basis of a solid fighting platform. Well done.
What i love about boxing training is that you basicaly perfect your punches and defense to perfection and every drill has a purpose Jump rope= footwork,endurance Shadowboxing=speed,fight simulation Heavybag=power,speed Sparring= the ultimate test Speed bag= speed,cardio Double end bag= speed,headmovement Slip bag= defense Running= long term endurance
I had the most difficult time learning to throw my left hook..Even in the gym with coaches...Mike made me get it in 30 seconds...Wow. Thank you sir.. 🙏🏾
Thanks man.. I’ve been boxing for years in my garage with no formal training.. it’s the best most enjoyable workout I’ve ever done.. thanks for doing this!
I just got a punching bag and gloves for Christmas... I’ve been obsessed with combat sports for the past year. I watch every UFC event, and I’ve watched hundreds of fights. I’ve been training with the bag with my basic self taught knowledge, but you’ve helped me take it a step up. Thank you bro
Thank you sir, this really helped. I was thinking about taking on boxing at our local gym, but I didn't want to look like an idiot (I have never in my life thrown a punch or kick). But now I have a little more confidence, thanks to you.
Mike, I'm going through some deep ish that makes me tear up even while typing this comment... just so happens it comes at the same time you are also going through some trying times. Then train your arms

Good luck

As a marine myself, he is weak at boxing.

I've been seriously thinking of getting into boxing but not professionally. More so for self defense as well as anger management. I think it's a pretty great sport and hopefully as I practice I'll get better at it. You're officially my coach until I get an actual one😂😅
Same honestly. Exercise and anger management AND defense
boxing is about punching and everyone who knows about fighting knows that punches are simple and effective so it's good for streetfighting
Go for it. You won't be disappointed.
Me toooo. Good luck
@@gunsakimbo9064 Thanks, you too! 😊
Am i the only one who thinks this guys voice is relaxing.
No?
Ok
i got a punching bag for anger management, and ive also been really wanting to get into boxing for the past year (being a very closed off person with issues when it comes to socializing it is difficult to get lessons in person) so i am incredibly thankful i found this ngl, very helpful!
I like the humble technique of this lesson. I’ve been boxing for 11 years, fought in a ring and for a short time in the octagon to test the waters. At my experience level I can say this dude really knows what he’s talking about. These are beginners techniques at their finest. The basis of a solid fighting platform. Well done.
What i love about boxing training is that you basicaly perfect your punches and defense to perfection and every drill has a purpose
Jump rope= footwork,endurance
Shadowboxing=speed,fight simulation
Heavybag=power,speed
Sparring= the ultimate test
Speed bag= speed,cardio
Double end bag= speed,headmovement
Slip bag= defense
Running= long term endurance

Peace and blessing upon you brother. Our local boxing gym has closed due to 2020 issues and I appreciate the work you have put in for us beginners.
