I'm an aircraft engineer of 30 years experience, mostly big supercharged piston and jet power plants, so this sort of thing is still my way of life and hobby. I really think you guys hit the mark WRT what people want to see and know. You could slightly reduce the off subject chatter, but thats as "mean" a critique as I can get.. you really do a pretty damn good job.. ps. a lot of people are giving information thats just wrong, you two are way better than average. Because you drive the cars and live in the real world, your info is pretty well spot on.. well done and kudos to you both, very enjoyable to watch, very informative and you both should be very happy with your efforts.. ! (seriously)..
I remember responding similarly whenever somebody asked me why I had a jerry can, jump leads, 5 bottles of water and repair manual all stashed in the boot of my Golf- "Cause it's a VW.. Bound to break." Love it!
Saw 1 vid of you Season for and I feel in love with this series. I have been watching all the episodes since Season 1, 1 billion times better than what ever is on TV :D
Oh man! I love you guys! Somehow you got deleted from my subscriptions and I was sad because I didn't get updates. Now I found it and this was a perfect episode to remind me how epic you guys are. Mad love from the states!
HOLY SHIET! I have an Mk3 Supra Turbo thats running stock boost! With this video I'm definitely turning up the boost with a manual boost controller! THANKS MEHN!!
You should also look for the "Turbo supporting mods" episode, where he's installing a bleedvalve on his s15. 'cause if you don't you'll prolly damage your engine
I just bought my hks variable boost controller. And was buying for my mk4 supra turbo. And how do I install it onto the twin sequesters turbocharger? Can anybody give me any advices.. And I'm thru with the mk3 supra.. I sold the car and half cut. And has a few body parts off a jza70 that if anybody is interested it, please message me.
blow off valve releases pressure when the throttle plate closes bleed valve controls the waste gate which increases boost pressure or lowers it depending on what your going for
blow off valve releases the pressure when the throttle is disengage so it doesnt fuck up the turbo. the bleed valve controls how much boost is being injected into the engine. i believe that is the correct answer.
love the whole "i need a vacuum line, but we don't have the right size, i have to give up" japanese guy goes off to his car and comes back, with the exact right size.
Yet another great vid guys, keep up the great work bro's. BTW, I just installed some Volk racing (Rays eng) se37's on my dd (daily driver) maxima, now I just need to install my powerslot rotors and paint my calipers with a little know how from the MCM guys, lol. Thanks again...
Pressure is always measured as a "differential pressure". If you have a gauge in front of you that reads 0, then plug it into your bicycle tire and it reads 15, that means the tire is 15 (units/psi/bar/atmospheres) more than outside the tire. The air pressure outside the tire is irrelevant.
Awesome content guys. New to the boost game. Just working on my r51 Nissan Pathfinder 2006 . That is over boosting and blowing the hoses lose. Any thoughts? Cheers guys.
Did you guys install it after the original boost control solenoid or has it been fully replaced by the mbc? I consider doing that upgrade on my fiat 500 abarth but as the boost is controlled by a solenoid that is linked to the ecu, I think the best way to do it would be with a bypass before and after the solenoid, right?
What chassis number and trim level is the one in this video? I've looked into these but the info on the web is a little spotty and confusing. Anyone know? Just looking for the AWD Turbo with the smiling grill haha
You guys said it was making 13psi, and then you showed the gauge holding steady at 1.3bar (19psi). Was that just the boost spike you were talking about?
@jerry401 yea dude it doesn't have to do with the engine type. If it has a standard exhaust fed turbo a bleed valve will work to override the standard ecu bleed
Alright so I'm considering boosting my 03 Rsx Base K20a3. I've heard making an engine like that turbo withhout an engine swap is dumb. It could blow the engine. So my questions are: 1.)Can you turbo my car without any major add ons like an intercooler, aftermarket pistons, etc? 2.)how much could I safely boost? 3.) will it add any decent horse power? 4.) what turbo do you recommend for it?
Thanks for the suggestion. Already tried. I've seen too many opinions. I've watched their supporting mods for turbos vid and based off of what I've seen in every other video where they turbo a car have gotten the impression that all you need to run a small turbo safely is a larger aftermarket intercooler, blow off valve, piping and optionally a bleed out valve for boost control.
safe boost would be no more then 6psi, which is pointless. would be a waste of the 3 grand it would cost you to do it. if your car isnt made with a turbo then you cant just put one on and expect to make any decent power. not worth doing, your better off buying a 180sx with turbo for $3000- $5000 and you can have fun with that and not fuck up your car
yes you can but with a diesel you need to monitor your exhaust gas temp because that is the only way to make sure you do not run lean. you will eventually realize you will need to upgrade the injector pump to keep the fuel air mixture correct but the boost controller will do the same thing on a diesel.
JUST jizz? Dude...My cawk exploded and sprayed 101 oct petrol everywhere...That 10 sec was so awesome, I'm on fire RIGHT NOW and the flames cannot harm me. Me gusta.
@mightycarmods hey, i saw the part where you did a skid and you had some crazy understeer... is there anyway to get rid of that or reduce it. i drive a 1st gen legacy btw :)
best explanation ever " because GTR"
that dude was awesome.

That amazing moment when you're waiting for a new episode and realise that you havnt seen this one and holy shit yes oh yes thank you!
I remember responding similarly whenever somebody asked me why I had a jerry can, jump leads, 5 bottles of water and repair manual all stashed in the boot of my Golf- "Cause it's a VW.. Bound to break." Love it!

As soon as I saw it the first thing I did was to check the comments. Other people saw it too.
@5uk1m0n5t3r The track is called 'High Speed Run' by MOOG. Search iTunes for the album 'TURBOS & TEMPLES' and you'll find it.
Just purchased a Suzuki Cappuccino, glad this video still exists haha. You guys are so young.
Saw 1 vid of you Season for and I feel in love with this series. I have been watching all the episodes since Season 1, 1 billion times better than what ever is on TV :D
You guys were making quality content before people even knew TH-cam was a thing!
im so sad cars like that don't exist here... awd and the size of a smart car?
ill take one
Oh man! I love you guys! Somehow you got deleted from my subscriptions and I was sad because I didn't get updates. Now I found it and this was a perfect episode to remind me how epic you guys are. Mad love from the states!

Installed a gfb dvx t9661 on my 2012 genesis coupe. Absolute beast
blow off valve releases pressure when the throttle plate closes bleed valve controls the waste gate which increases boost pressure or lowers it depending on what your going for
"He's got some cream for it, but at the moment he's still the Crab Master." Made my day!! Haha
haha opened up the laptop... clicked youtube... SWEET NOTHING BETTER THAN A NEW MCM VID WHILE SITTING ON THE CAN!

I have a suzuki jimny with a 660cc turbo. Thank you for this. Hopefully I can figure out where to connect the hoses.
I love all these new MAAAD videos you're rolling out! Keep it up!
A little AWD Kei car like this one would be an awesome winter beater here in Canada.
MINI TUMBLEWEED AT 8:48!!!
i installed one on my navara with a ZD30 engine and it runs just awesome, has far more acceleration in 3rd and 4th
As always you guys rock! Thanks for the HIGH Quality videos.
I love that Nissan GTR,But boy is it expensive
6:57 That gtr tho
blow off valve releases the pressure when the throttle is disengage so it doesnt fuck up the turbo. the bleed valve controls how much boost is being injected into the engine. i believe that is the correct answer.
By FAR the best thing on youtube or maybe ever planet earth.....love you guys! :- D
I've been waiting for a new video for to long, and when this showed up on my subscriptions I almost JIZZed.
Illuminati confirmed
love the whole
"i need a vacuum line, but we don't have the right size, i have to give up"
japanese guy goes off to his car and comes back, with the exact right size.
@M0NKIUS Boost gauge reading is in PSI, 13 may have looked like 1.3
do an episode or season finale on installing a turbo and all its components. that would be sick.
OZZY MIGHTY CAR MODS ARE THE BEST ON THE YOU TUBE CHANNEL.
Yet another great vid guys, keep up the great work bro's.

Why do you have hove in your car? Cause it's a GTR
That's my line
congrats
how increasing boost affect fuel mixture ?? or fuel ratio to air ratio ?? and rest of ecu map ?
Adrian ADOR check out the Channel Engineering Explained he has made a video "Turbos Explained"
@url7292 We did that already. Check out Season 3: Episodes 1, 2 and 3
Awesome content guys.
New to the boost game.
Just working on my r51 Nissan Pathfinder 2006 .
That is over boosting and blowing the hoses lose.
Any thoughts?
Cheers guys.
That man with the GTR what a legend
loving the tags for this video..." pimp my ride, top gear"
I look forward to your episodes, great job guys
so it can be installed to one NON turbo car just for vacuum measurement?
an can be installed on TDI engines too ?
Good custom tuning can get rid of the ecm boost limiter i went from around 22psi to 31psi
Sweet!! Right before going to bed!!!
So @ 6:20 guy in green sleeves walks to skyline grabs exactly what you need in that same scene from trunk of said skyline? this feels like hollywood.
good acting i guess marty
i lov how that guy goes into his gtr and gets the cable hes lookin for
Did you guys install it after the original boost control solenoid or has it been fully replaced by the mbc? 6:18, the man with the R34 GT-R knows all hahahaha
Thats a cool little car. I like it. Too bad we dont get cars like that in the USA
@mightycarmods oh my bad. u guys are awesome, i could deffinately see this show on tv here in the states lol
@crazyphilly555 GTRs aren't banned in the US. They sell the new GTR here. The old GTRs just weren't sold here. They can and have been imported.
You guys said it was making 13psi, and then you showed the gauge holding steady at 1.3bar (19psi). Was that just the boost spike you were talking about?
And you get +5hp extra because the cable is RED and RED is always faster! I love MCM =) GENIOS!
would this work on a turbo diesel?
always looking forward for your vids
did they come to japan to film a different video too or just this one ?
Was this made + filmed while you guys were shooting Turbos and Temples?
Does the car need to have boost before you install the bleed valve or does the bleed valve add boost to factory.
"Why do you have hose in your car?"
Cause its a GTR!!
Lmfao!! Legend!
@jerry401 yea dude it doesn't have to do with the engine type. If it has a standard exhaust fed turbo a bleed valve will work to override the standard ecu bleed
how much extra boost do you think this would add if i put it on a Ford F350 with the 7.3l diesel?
it makes around 22lbs stock
Not Much. if you add more i think it might blow...
That little thing is fast👏🏼👏🏼
Alright so I'm considering boosting my 03 Rsx Base K20a3.
I've heard making an engine like that turbo withhout an engine swap is dumb. It could blow the engine.
So my questions are:
1.)Can you turbo my car without any major add ons like an intercooler, aftermarket pistons, etc?
2.)how much could I safely boost?
3.) will it add any decent horse power?
4.) what turbo do you recommend for it?
**or turbo my car without engine swapping.
**can a k20a3 handle that?
Instead of asking TH-cam why don't you google these questions and find a forum with the answers?
Thanks for the suggestion. Already tried. I've seen too many opinions. I've watched their supporting mods for turbos vid and based off of what I've seen in every other video where they turbo a car have gotten the impression that all you need to run a small turbo safely is a larger aftermarket intercooler, blow off valve, piping and optionally a bleed out valve for boost control.

Thanks buddy. See that's the answer I needed.
Marty is genius!
you two blokes need a tv show....
some of this footage was in temples and turbos so i guess you guys shot this while filming for T&T
nice! thanks! planning to install it on my Y61 with ZD30 engine on it
You guys are so cool, thanks for all you vids !
damn. that guy is awesome. has a gtr, gives them a 5mm tube for the bleed valve and posts the video before mcm does... i love him
I put hallman mbc on my 04 wrx what would you guys set the boost to?
I set it to 14psi seem ok except getting boost at part throttle.
Of course, it works !
Omg this channel grows subs like every 10mins
I wish I could have one of those cool K cars! What's the closest thing in the U.S.? A geo? Suzuki swift?
0:40 illuminati confirmed
blu ray? damn, you guys are getting there!
@sickstyle in it's most basic form, yes.
u guys should do driving tips videos also
mighty helpful. Mighty car mods!
does the bleed valve do the same thing as a manual boost controller?
Wow. Didn't know Moog spoke Japanese. I'm impressed.
Finally I know the name of that nice car. I like small and fast cars.
god that skyline is maaad
I have a turbo diesel which controls boost by a vacuum operated wastegate. Can I still use a boost control valve such as this?
yes you can but with a diesel you need to monitor your exhaust gas temp because that is the only way to make sure you do not run lean. you will eventually realize you will need to upgrade the injector pump to keep the fuel air mixture correct but the boost controller will do the same thing on a diesel.
there will be a screw on your fuel pump, turn it up and turn up the boost and your good to go
a good service + new tyres.
JUST jizz?
Dude...My cawk exploded and sprayed 101 oct petrol everywhere...That 10 sec was so awesome, I'm on fire RIGHT NOW and the flames cannot harm me.
Me gusta.
1 bar = 0.9 atmospheres. Does this mean that the turbo was not doing anything at all?
love your show your songs the cars all realy cool well done
" Why do you have a hose in your car ? "
"Cause its a GTR" LOL
@ON3TWELVE I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that.
interesting vid, good job! love the skyline, and the alto looks pretty nippy too lol mmm tofu
@mightycarmods hey, i saw the part where you did a skid and you had some crazy understeer... is there anyway to get rid of that or reduce it. i drive a 1st gen legacy btw :)
I'm pretty envious that they got to buy an Alto Works :< I would LOVE an Alto Works.
it's always a shock when I hear how little boost cars run way less then I'm used too
