Joe, at the risk of inflating your ego, it was your book, the Early Church was the Catholic Church, that was the final nail in the my coffin. So you weren't step 2 of 2,000, but 2,000 of 2,000 for me! Thank you for the work you do! You continue to teach me about my new Catholic faith and inspire love in my heart.
Wow, I'm thrilled to hear that! Welcome home. Also, I dig your personal sense of style.
We would l9ve your conversion to be on an interview. Get the Truth out for priests and others to hear❤
@CatholicSaintslayIncorrupt I mean, if anyone wants to interview me, I'm open to it! Never done anything like that before.
The early church was not Roman Catholic but Messianic Jews. Gentiles soon after were accepted into church so Jew and Gentile became One New Man in Christ and had scriptures and scrolls of Apostolic Writings long before Rome or Leo1 inflating idea of Papacy over church. ❤
@@shamelesspopery Yes your book is great. I ordered it and sent a picture to my Protestant Restorationist dad, with whom I have friendly debates, asking “did you send this to me” 😂
Coming from the same home town and growing up in the same evangelist church. Church of God (Pentecostal) as JD Vance did. I went the same path as he did. This really hits home. Now, at 57, I'm in OCIA/ RCIA. I was never an atheist, but i was a really good sinner. I understand his journey. Mine has been similar.
Good luck with RCIA fren
God bless, and I pray your journey goes well.
God bless you🙏🏼
Welcome home!
Powerful testimonies!
I grew up Pentecostal, but very quickly noticed the logical inconsistencies with their beliefs. I became Presbyterian because it was much more logical. Eventually, I became Catholic through studying history, but I'm glad I escaped Pentecostalism. It's conspiratorial and superstitious.
Welcome home ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@lylan5103I grew up Baptist, then Pentecostal/Non-denominational. I became Presbyterian in college, then Catholic 4 years ago.
I hear 👂 that. Still to the day, many Catholic’s are very conspiratorial and superstitious. It’s hard for them not to when you are out numbered by many other doctrines. Plus the culture, I always remember Stevie Wonder, “Very Superstitious Writing ✍️ on the wall”😄. I always point people to The Prodigal Son. To read it in scripture. Just as Jesus asked several times: haven’t you read? And then I say: after you read Prodigal Son, Think 💭 on The 1st Commandment, and the other 9 Commandments. Do you see them in their? It like finding certain things in a picture filled with things and colors. Then ask yourself: haven’t you read? Then you can say yes. That means you are fallowing Our Lord Jesus Christ. Then you many find yourself less or no superstitious. Peace ✌️. 01/30/25.
@@VaughndaleoulawThis is the hardest part because even Protestantism can be extremely different from one another. Anglican, Presbyterian even Lutheran who started Protestantism aren't aggressive when it comes to Mary and Saints.
I also sense their fear whenever Orthodox, both East and Oriental challenged them. They were trained to attack the Catholic Church. They aren't prepared to answer the Orthodox, even when the Orthodox say something even more irritating for their level of understanding such as „Mother of God, save us“ which is uncommon.
My brother who has been a great observant, told me that they would join the Orthodox just to attack the Catholics, once they refused, they will wander again. This is how you judge their alliance. Not to a Church but to the one below.
I hope you do a interview, for others!❤🎉
I was an atheist until I became a Christian at 30, and two years ago, I entered the Catholic Church. While going through catechesis in preparation for baptism, I found out that I had actually been baptized as a Catholic as an infant. Realizing that I had come back home without even knowing it, I couldn’t help but thank God.
It’s crazy how far some people will go just to undermine Mary. The other day I heard a Pentecostal pastor’s wife saying that Jesus only “became” divine after receiving baptism. She didn’t believe this before, but she forced herself to take this position when she was being pressed on the issue of Mary being the Mother of God. She would rather deny Jesus’ perpetual divinity than accept Mary being the Mother of God
ooof, big yikes
That is Adoptionism, so she’s just added heresy to support her heresy (nestorianism)
😮😮😮😮😮
Madness.
Jesus was never personally divine as any Jewish scholar could inform you. If Jesus had not been born of Joseph; he could not have been the messiah. The Jewish, not the much later invented Christian messiah, was chosen by God, not God himself. I would have thought that the reference to so many humans as messiahs in the OT would have informed you about that, but Christians don't actually read the OT.
The Mama Mary appeared to my Mother, when she was in her early twenties, saying “Child, go and have yourself baptized in the Catholic Church”. My mother told Her that her father would never agree and fearful of what he would do to her.(Her father was a staunch Aglipayan!) In La Paz, Iloilo, where my mother lived, the Aglipayan and Catholic Churches stood beside each other in the plaza town square. And my mother’s house was directly across the Aglipayan Church and my grandfather would see her going to the Catholic Church instead of the Aglipayan Church when they went to church together. Mama Mary just kept repeating Her words until my mother agreed. The next day, she went to the Catholic Priest. He tried to dissuade my mother at first, fearing what my grandfather would do. But my mother told him of Mama Mary’s appearing to her telling her to become a Catholic. The Catholic Priest baptized my mother that very same day. The miracle was that my Grandfather never said a word to my mother all those years! He just accepted it. My mother died a few years ago when she was 99 years old, a devout Catholic. And i too am a proud and devout Catholic. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Mama Mary.🙏
I loved this story, thank you for sharing.
Loved this story! Beautiful witness.
I converted to Catholicism 10 years ago. Last year I was invited to join a neighborhood Bible study. The other ladies are Protestant. I did pretty good last year, answering and discussing, not challenging. This year is different. This week I have been on a mission to listen to all things dealing with conversion, questions of faith, tricky areas. You see, our leader says she takes the Bible at its word. I say, then what do you do with this? After all, this is Jesus himself talking. So thank you for this most enlightening, gentle story about Vance and how to plant seeds for God’s good watering.
that proves you are not catholic but a novus ordo sect member! it is mortal sin to be in fellowship with heretics and to use bibles that are not approved by the roman catholic church
Though I never had an atheist phase nor was I ever “unchurched,” I feel like Vance. I was raised in a devout Evangelical household. I found more and more holes in their theology. Out of me and my 4 siblings, only me and one sister remain believers. I find myself drawn strongly to Catholicism after a long long period of study and deep conversations with Catholic friends. I’m a sophomore in college, and I know my parents are hostile to Catholic ideas, as they’re ex Catholic and don’t understand it.
one of my brothers is an ex-Catholic--hostile to Catholics. Then one of his sons became a Catholic and married a Catholic. Now my brother has two Catholic grandchildren!!
Go forward into it and sign up for OCIA. If at any point you sense that the Catholic beliefs are wrong, stop and discuss it with a wise person. I did this and found no objections , only ignorance in other denominations. I joined the Roman Catholic Church in 2015 and am so happy ❤ Best wishes for you!
Blessed Mother Mary, Patroness of America, pray for us!

No one comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus).
Yes, and Mary His mother and our mother too brings us to Him (Jesus). God the Father gave us His only begotten Son through the Blessed Virgin Mary why? At the Wedding of Cana she interceded for the couple that had no more wine. Did He listen to her?
Growing up Baptist, the apocalyptic thinking and constant appeals that the end was right around the corner was one of the reasons I left. My faith journey looked a lot like Vance's and I ended up converting to Catholicism a year ago. Now I go back to my parents and it seems that the apocalyptic preaching has gotten even worse
I'll never understand this obsession with the apocalypse.
Even if the apocalypse won't come in our times, we will die anyway.
We will be judged by God anyway.
What difference does it really make?
Welcome HOME!
Show them Scott Hahn's conversion testimony, "How the Eucharist made me Catholic". He went through the same experience.
@@SuperTommox
We don't know where apocalypse will come, and Jesus said, he will come for us like thief in the night.
We should prepare every day for our death, and if we do that, even apocalypse won't matter, because we will be just, in the eyes of God.
Yea. End Times obsession is a VERY Protestant “thing”. However some Catholic TH-camrs are beginning to push the whole Apocolypse thing.
Loved this video , as a Protestant who loves and is increasingly drawn to Catholicism , it really spoke to me. I'd love to meet you someday (Joe ) you've been a tremendous blessing to me !!
Recently when my father passed it became clear to me that the role of a father is to bring the face of God to his children. To help them understand what a loving father in this life may be so they can better grasp the concept of their heavenly Father. Blessed are those who have not seen and believe. It's much easier to believe if you have seen the love of God in your own father, those who have not (or worse have been abused or neglected) and still believe must truly be blessed. This is obviously no small task, but neither is take up your cross and follow me. The next month we found out we were expecting our first child.
God bless you and congratulations ❤

This episode really spoke to me and my journey back to the Church. Your final lines really clarified a question an evangelical co-worker once asked me: How does you learning about apologetics and the Church save anyone? How many people have you saved with all that knowledge you've gained?
In all honesty, the questions never really affected me spiritually, but I was concerned i didn't have an immediate answer, but now I do. Even if I am not the one who plants the seed in someone, I may be the one who tills the earth for the sower.
God is so Good, Merciful, and Wise. God's Blessings on everyone.
Apologetics also aids in providing a defense, edifying existing Christians so they can remain on the straight and narrow without being pulled off the path from well-argued "enemies".
Thanks!
Wow, thank you!
I love Joe. You open up wrapped topics that are obviously complex to comprehend. Thank you. I am Joseph from remote Kenya
God bless you! I wondered how much these episodes would resonate with non-Americans. What part of Kenya are you from?
I'm still researching but I definitely feel the pull towards Catholicism. I grew up Church of Christ and Catholicism never entered my mind until recently. The one topic that upended everything for me was Sola Scriptura. Is it strange that anything other than scripture alone never entered my mind? It seemed like common sense because if not the Bible then it's fallible men making up whatever they want. Of course I noticed the division but it was easily dismissed with an arrogant thought like "they're not interpreting it right or they're not honest." Even with these thoughts something never felt right about viewing the Bible like it's a clear instruction manual. It's hard to explain but I think for years my gut was guiding me towards Catholicism but my indoctrinated protestant brain was getting in the way lol.
You are not alone. See videos by Scott Hahn and Nester, both highly educated converts to Catholicism.
I’ve also always noticed that Pastors can often be heard running down the Catholic Church at their church services - whilst I’ve never heard a Catholic priest run down a Protestant pastor at mass. On the contrary Catholic priests pray for their Protestant brothers and sisters.
In the same vein I’ve never seen a Catholic Priest arrive at church driving the latest top luxury vehicle.
Do Catholics believe Protestants go to hell when they die?
Joe, this is one of your best videos. Thank you.
Thanks!
This channel is severely underrated!!!! So many interesting points all pulled together beautifully.
Yo Joe! It’s your old friend Adam from our Great St. Marys of Old Town Alexandria . Great to hear you on here and speaking the truth to all!!
Adam! You play a huge role in my own journey. For anyone reading this, Adam invited me to a men's group in Alexandria, Virginia, where I formed friendships I still have today, and where I discerned that I was called to seminary.
Thank you for sharing JD Vance's story. May God bless you and have mercy on our country and the world.
This is strangely similar to my own journey - minus Harvard and becoming Vice President.
I relate to Vance in many ways. Growing up in the Ozarks (the cousins of Appalachia), I had a similar experience in that where I grew up, it was very common for Christians to not attend church. Even now, neither my parents or my extended family ever attend church. Had to laugh at his grandma disliking "organized religion." I have heard that many times myself.
You like religion?
Vance didn't grow up in the Ozarks or Appalachia. He grew up in a Cincinnati suburb.
He's a good story teller, much of it not true at all.
@@ji8044 I am aware he grew up in Ohio for most of his life, but he spent a lot of time with his relatives in Appalachia, too. He literally starts his book off saying this, so it isn't like he is trying to hide that fact. He also grew up in a part of Ohio that has a lot of people who were transplanted from Kentucky (like his grandparents).
@@_ready__Religion is a virtue that renders the heart honor to God. All world religions attempt to do this, and although some are man-made, the desire to look outside oneself and honor God is a good thing.
@@PuzzlesC4M what if it is false doctrine?
JD Vance is relatively young in his faith journey. He needs our prayers so he can be a faithful Catholic politician. I can only imagine the temptations and pressures that come in a position like he is in. That said, I liked this video a lot. The stubbornness of some Catholics when it comes to their views (not clearly defined Church teaching) is unattractive for people outside the church. Catholic Answers has taught me about the freedom that the church gives us in so many areas.
I'm with you 100%. The reason why my brother who was a rad trad, no longer a rad trad, they have more hate than love, more pride than humility, more conspiracy and less rational thinking, more Christian tradition, less Christian compassion. He told me, many of them have none of that, the literal meaning of faith without works. Nothing wrong with tradition but things that surrounding it are the problem.
He surrounded himself with Christians who literally struggle on daily basis just to remain alive for their faith ever since, be they Catholic or not but have respect for each other.
12:22 someone on the internet said Catholicism has main character energy and everyone else is coping
Its true
And Lutherans have that little brother energy of trying to be different but follow in his brother's footsteps.
I think it was Redeemed Zoomer, he said Catholicism is the main character in the sense that every single denomination has something to say about us.
🤣🤣🤣
In the various creepy movies our culture is so fond of, when someone suggests getting spiritual assistance dealing with the issue, it is always the Catholic Church they turn to. That is main character energy.
Thank you. I think this framing/observance was a brilliant, even inspired, over arching view of the spiritual journey. You include great insights as to stumbling blocks for Catholics to avoid in our attempt to share the faith, and present what a real journey might look like for someone seeking the truth on their path to Catholicism. I so appreciate the need to be humble and true in all that we do. This approach will surely shape me. And…may God bless JDV in his continued journey, and you in your ministry and life.
Thank you Joe for how much you’ve personally helped me grow in my faith and fall more in love with the Church! I want to share the faith so badly, but I could really use prayers for courage, as I struggle tremendously with fear - fear of rejection and fear of accidentally pushing people further away from the Church. It has been very heavy on my heart lately.
Thanks for sharing your exploration of J.D. Vance's spiritual journey to Catholicism.
His story resonates. Although I started in a "christian" family (where not many even attended and we were never taught one way or another), to going to a mega church style Protestant worship due to a high school friend. Spent several years as an atheist (most of my adult life) and found Christ once again in Independent Fundamental Baptist circles when they knocked on our door. I started questioning their teachings and ended up in Catholicism (which was starkly spoken ill about). This portion is quite vivid as it is recent and I ended up being called all kinds of things for rejecting KJV-onlyism, among other doctrines they had. This part most makes me relates to J.D. Vance's account as it was common practice to criticize most other people for not being "us" (although in the "righteous" way), including other Christians that were considered "not really Christian." As soon as I started speaking about the validity of some Catholic doctrines and how misunderstood they were, my own sister started to alienate herself from me (even while living with me). Most of my life, I was shown poor examples of what Christians and Christianity were and so rejected it based on a foolish personal feeling I had towards individuals. Come to find that Christianity makes most sense of the world we live in.
9:28 "So they replaced those lyrics with the strangely Pelagian lyrics 'Jesus needs a team.'" Never change, Joe.
I too enjoyed that 😂
Thank you for this indept and fascinating analysis. A lot to chew on, and we appreciate that.

Did God call to Vance so he could boot millions of Catholics out of the country? Where do you find THAT in God's plan?

Joe mentioned how Protestants' sermons bash Catholicism. I experienced that in 2009 on Easter Sunday. A pastor started his sermon by saying how we made Mary a god by calling her the Mother of God. I had to walk out because of how piss I was.
This happens every single Sunday in the south. Particularly in Baptist Churches. Their seething hatred of the bride of Christ is truly unhinged.
@ alwaysathome
Ironically, the church is in Forth Worth, TX (I know some people don't consider Texas the South), and the pastor grew up Baptist. The pastor claims his church is non-denominational, but he incorporated so much of his Baptist tradition into his church.
@@vtaylor21 The Baptist Tradition is to make everything up. There's literally a Baptist Church in Dallas called "St. Mary's Baptist Church". Non-Denominational is just the trendy word for Baptists who are extra-nonconformist and making everything up even harder than you are.
I am not even Catholic... Yet. I am investigating. One of the reasons for this is that All of the preachers attack the Catholic Church in bad faith.
I wanted the unvarnished truth straight from the horses mouth.
Their lies were so plain, they have pushed me to seek the truth of Christ's Church.
That is very ironic.
Absolutely relate to what Joe said on that part. I have been Catholic my entire life, I have never, never heard a priest focus a homily on any other denomination, yet this is so common in other denominations it’s baffling to me. One time in college, an Adventist friend invited me to their service, I went and guess what they preached on? How the Catholic Church changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday.
Your last comments are about helping bring people to Christ. Many Christians already have a strong relationship with Christ and they are not Catholic. They are often poorly informed about catholicism. So thanks for opening the door on the detailed and beautiful writings of both historical and contemporary Catholics.
Really great video, Herr Heschmeyer.
Beautiful and True! Thanks Joe!
Outstanding and very informative video, Joe- thank you!

Very enjoyable, both for my love of our Catholic Faith and for the journey undertaken by our Vice President. I feel very blessed to have listened; I do so love our God, His plans for our salvation, and His Providence. Everything in Christ.

JD Vance was fully immersed at baptism. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
JD has a great story - not many politicians inspired a movie about them.
What a beautiful story and I thank you for your take on this.
Thank you Joe, that was really good overall! (IMHO)
Thank you, Joe! Excellent...
This was great, not necessarily because of the person you were talking about, but rather the challenges and way of working out how to resolve the unanswered questions he had. It could have been anyone and it still would have been interesting
I agree - this episode wasn't "J.D. Vance is great" but "here's a cool, high-profile conversion story that highlights some fascinating questions and answers..."
Well some of us appreciate the "who" in the matter because nothing represents the absolute state of modern degeneracy than the alternative. After absolute triumph and vindication I am ashamed to see people still yet bending over backward to distance themselves from them. Thats ok! Enjoy reaping the benefits of it while pretending to be too posh to consider their conversion an added victory in the fight against anti-Christian progressive technocratic totalitarianism.
1 John 4: 20 - your customary excellence in your presentations and the story of JD Vance’s journey loses its balance when you refrain from addressing the compromising position in which political ambition places individuals as it has JD Vance. I would welcome a sequel to this presentation and would appreciate your usual thorough and balanced discussion of the struggle of faith in the public setting. How does the Catholic teaching on the role of the Magisterium, conscience, sensus fidelium, welcoming the foreigner, love of neighbor…factor into a politicians life and, for that matter, all our lives as disciples of God in Christ Jesus? Joe, thanks!
Great work Joe!
I wish we could stop saying “Roman” Catholic Church unless we are specifically referring to that one rite.
Normal way of speaking. It’s not dogmatic
me too. enough now lol
I literally opened the comments to say exactly that... I was like, come on! Why!?
eastern catholics are cool.
I think you're confusing the Roman Catholic Church with the Latin Rite. If you are in communion with Rome, you are a Roman Catholic.
He became catholic and he got catholic votes also got elected as Vice president.
Always excellent!
Great video!
Excellent job, Joe! The quotes from St Augustine and JP II are timely and important to internalize. Your final challenge hits the nail squarely on the head. Well done.
Organized religion - Catholicism
Disorganized religion - Protestantism
When it comes to showing why we need the magisterium, I think my favorite argument is in looking at America. In the US, the Constitution is the final authority, yet, we have a Supreme Court which takes laws and interprets them in light of the Constitution, to determine if these laws can fit inside of the framework of the Constitution. We know that people have had disputes over what the constitution says or means and they take it to a county or district court. The court rules against one party and they appeal. Maybe that court rules the other way. If there is not a "highest court" (the supreme court) which can issue a definitive ruling, we have anarchy. If we didn't have the Court System, the US would not have lasted 10 years.
The Constitution couldn't possibly address every single issue that would ever face our country. So too, in Christianity, the Bible couldn't possibly address every single faith or moral question that Christians would and ever will have. St. John tells us that if Scripture tried to do that, the entire world wouldn't be able to contain all the writings that would be needed. Thus, we have the Church to be the final interpreter of Scripture. They take a question of faith and ask "Is this true in light of what we know about Scripture." If we just say "Well, the Bible says nothing about it, therefore, it must not be that important.", we end up back where we started.
Suppose we are in the shoes of those at the Church councils and are answering the question "Is Jesus fully God or only part God?" we pour through Scripture, and find there is no verse that says one way or the other. Since Scripture doesn't say, the Church leaves it be. Well, people are still going to fight about that question. Even if the Church rules against them, people need to know that the issue is settled.
Otherwise, you end up with what happened with Martin Luther: "I will agree with the Church, whatever she says." but then when the Church rules against us, say "well, I still think I am right, so I want to appeal. How about we take it to this other authority (a Church council)?"
I grew up in rural KY in the Church of Christ. I remember sermons as a child that bashed laws about smoking and seat belts because "everyone has a specific appointed time to die", they'll just die at that time another way.
One time family members screamed at that a tour guide at Mammoth Cave who said the cave was created millions of years ago that the tour guide was leading people to hell for not believing literal Genesis.
this'll be good. Weird 10 seconds of black nothingness at the beginning though

Weird, I said “Let there be Joe!” and he popped up
Wow! I really enjoyed listening to your podcast. I am a Catholic, raised my three girls Catholic, only one is a devout Catholic. One has fallen away from the faith, the other is not practicing. The sad thing is I’m not doing anything about it except just setting the example and praying they’ll come back to the Catholic faith.
This is so true, coming out of Protestant background for 30 years. But God had grace on me and opened my eyes and realize before I take the splinter out of my brother’s eye, I should take the log out of my own.
This was excellent, Joe. St. Gregory of Nyssa’s Life of Moses had a similar impact on me, as St. Augustine’s work did on the Vice President.
As a Catholic who moved to the south after college, I was invited to a Baptist service by a friend who’s daughter went to Bible school there. I was surprised to hear a whole sermon against the Catholic Church. That was almost 40 years ago and having remained in the south, I am no longer surprised at this sort of thing. I even tried a dating service through a local newspaper and got blasted by a Pentecostal employee of the paper for being Catholic in my profile.
51:12 I recently had to relearn this epiphany. If we do not have good familial relationships growing up, we are going to struggle to love others, especially God. We will see the world as Marx did: a struggle between power and individual will; master and slave.
I grew up in the Deep South as a Southern Baptist, but I was baptized in an independent “Bible Baptist church” after my parents divorced and my mom stopped going to church for several years. I was exposed to very strange theology, which I found lots of problems with even as I was baptized into this church.
The pastor there was a good man who was trying to make us disciples of Christ as he best understood, but things became more normalized under the Protestant lens when my mom and stepfather started going to a somewhat “normal” Southern Baptist church.” I joined this church under coercion, however I never stopped believing in Jesus Christ.
As I went to church and Sunday school while also grappling with an increasing drug addiction, I began to question things we discussed in Sunday school and even in the sermons.
My conversion to Catholicism occurred in 2009 after I had already been studying scripture and Church history. I had been flirting with Catholicism for several years and after a communion sermon in the SBC church, I found serious problems that the pastor would not address. At the same time I heard sermons on Matthew 16 and John 6 in the Catholic Church. This was the truth that converted me to the Catholic Church.
There is still much to be desired in terms of fellowship and discipleship in the Catholic Church that the SBC still has that the post conciliar Catholic Church is missing.
The Rad Trads could learn from Augustine insofar as insisting that "their" liturgy is better than any other. It's ok to appreciate the Traditional Mass, it's another to look down upon others because they are not called in the same way.
Rad trad communities, not all of them, have a very twisted point of view, un-Christian and definitely not Catholic. My brother left that community in shock. I have a proof that can be shown, even to a Bishop how anti-Christian these people can be.
Joe, this was actually fairly “amazing.” You retold his already very articulate and interesting faith story in what I would argue was an even more compelling, and especially edifying way. Amen!
PS. Perhaps the HS is guiding you further to use this obvious gift of “re-storytelling” to incorporate it more in your evangelistic endeavors. Maybe a specific series of similar (involving both contemporary and historical figures ) efforts amplifying aspects of people’s stories to illuminate the faith?
Thank you! My wife is always trying to get me to do more narrative-style presenting, but I haven't found much of a place for it yet in my public work.
@@shamelesspoperyI think some figures like St. Maximilian Kolbe or Alfred Delp could turn out to be very interesting to look into!

Another masterpiece from Joe.
Btw I noticed strong parallels between Book of Job and Nazi Resistance example. Anyone else?
Not hardly, since it was Christians who were murdering the Jews, not helping them.
Joe, thank you so much for the work you do! It has been transformative in my life!
On the topic of religion and politics, you may enjoy James Laine's "Meta-Religion: Religion and Power in world politics".
I read it in as part of my religious studies course work in college and I found it explained well the vital importance religion plays in government.
Hope your family is well!
The ending related to me a lot. I currently have a friend who had a similar faith journey to me except he became Protestant. We were both born into Catholic families but we didn’t practice. Early 2023 he had a reawakening in his faith. In that he heard all of usual objections towards the Catholic Church, and became a non-denominational protestant. Later that year, around June, I also had a reawakening in my faith. Except I pushed back a bit towards those Protestant objections towards the Catholic Church. Nonetheless I was still caught discerning between the two, not affiliated with either. I eventually submitted to the authority of the Catholic Church by the end of 2023. Now as of recent, and the reason why I’m leaving this comment, my friend who became Protestant used to be adamantly against, almost all of, Catholic Church teaching. However, just yesterday, he very willingly agreed to come to adoration with me. He told me he’s not 100% sold on the true presence, but he’s a lot more open to it, and leaning towards that belief. When we were in adoration, I thanked God for putting it on his heart to come to adoration. I was praying for him for about 2 minutes when God said to me “Don’t worry about Connor, I’ll take care of him.” Afterward he told me it was an interesting experience and he’s still wrestling with this. I felt the temptation to get frustrated but almost immediately I had this thought, which I believe was planted in my heart by God, “don’t get frustrated at Connor’s hesitance. Remember how long it took you to understand? Have patience with him, as I have had patience with you.”
As a cradle catholic what brought me back was seeing eucharistic miracles. And hitting rock bottom in my life.
Prayers for Connor 🙏🏻❤

Thank you Joe
As a Catholic born in the late 1940’s I can recall in the 1970’s-1980’s“ it being reported“ that the pope had said that it was possible that there could be an acceptance of the theory of evolution in which God had intervened in the evolving. Of course it was not ever taught “from the chair”.
That was really good explanation why science and faith goes so well together in Catholicism. Thank you for your words about master - slave and fatherhood and about slow way to the faith that is not necessary snap and overwhelmed with feelings or deep spiritual phenomena but it is mostly slow but persistent. Not only that, but it is repeating in its cycle of our "death and rebirth". As a Catholic from the cradle, I can say that e are not talking enough of it.
I haven't gotten to that point in the video myself yet, but I was just doing a bit of reading on this topic last week and came to the same conclusion. St. Pope John Paul II talks about it succinctly (imo) in "Fides et Ratio " if you'd like some further reading
My version of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” ends “life is much more than a dream.” 😊
This seems like a very good book. It's clear that he thought these things out.
I will read it for sure.
♥️All roads leads to Rome 😘
Always good to see u post dude, unlike many others u speak reasonably and theologically without making everything about politics
This is a very similar story to my own journey.
And I will say the major thing holding me back from Christianity for a long long time was the science denial.
Thank you. This was thorough. And I felt like I learned about our vice president
I agree 🩷 I always say this is how I see this but I’m willing to yield my view when proved wrong. I think we should all have this view as Christians.
Oh my daughter in law grew up catholic.she is also the tenth child. She grew up with lots of playmates
I really enjoyed your timeline of JD's conversion story. FYI, you trail off so often at the end of your sentences, it's difficult to hear what you are saying. I had to put on CC in order to hear the end of your sentences.
What meaning means. The Catholic church. I had a thousand questions. She had a thousand perfect answers.
Amazing conversion story!
I am not Evangelical, and I am even questioning the title Christian!! Why? Because the churches do not study the WORD OF GOD! Let alone follow it! They do not obey God's Law! Tell me HOW can you negotiate not following what God has given us? How can you follow man's ways, religions, and TRADITIONS! If you value God, LISTEN TO HIM! READ EZEKIEL 20...what is the Lord say here? Do you think He means what He says? I do! And there is so much more! Read the Word. We will answer only to God in the Judgment. He has given us His Word, His Spirit. LISTEN & OBEY...this is the walk.
Trust your Brother and Savior, He is the One, the only One who can save us!
I would have liked to listen to a quiet enlightening interview🕊️
JD Vance is a miracle, as viewed from this far away in Australia. Talk about a country that produces the leaders it badly needs, when it needs them. God go with him.
Galileo could not prove that the Sun must be the reference point of observation. The Church replied to him (as did Einstein) that other points in space can be reference points, not just the Sun.
There is also a line in the bible which says, more or less - if you see your brother do something to convert someone, don't stop him, if he's not wrong, because everyone has their own reason. So sometimes it may seem useless to try to convert someone, but you should never simply give up. Sometimes words and arguments are also important in someone's process of being converted - even if they are not the last step in the conversion.
The real answer is
BECAUSE IT'S TRUE
Okay, Chesterton! (But yes, absolutely!)
By the way….
Raised as RC with rare exposure to Ruthenian /Orthodox worship, the lack of popular adherence to RC practices where I attended higher education and Velikovsky’s screed led to a period of searching for Truth, a brief exposure to Mormonism and JW’s and a personal expression of Faith in Jesus Divinity.
Years later I eschew belonging to any ‘religion’ but will attend any worship service because as I told my parents at age 6 “ it’s all the same God, isn’t it/He?”
It all emphasizes that Salvation is a very 1:1 issue.
Just read "How I joined the Resistance", Vance's blog post on the Lamp about his conversion, in its entirety. All I can say is "Wow. This guy's on another level. Complete 180 from the nominally Catholic president we had for the last 4 years." I recommend everyone here read it. Took me about 10-15 minutes reading slowly.
Not buying Vance as a "c0nvert", I see these writings as nothing more than clever pr0paganda to normalize s0d0mlte marriage and adoptions.
Shout out to the dude that seems to be making it his mission to single handedly double the number of comments on this video for some reason. Quite a favor to do for someone he seems to disagree with vehemently.
I know, right? 😅
