Catholicism in Kyrgyzstan: How Are They After the Soviet Union Persecutions? | Pilgrim’s Feet

- The Soviet Union, also known as the USSR, was a socialist state that existed from 1922 to 1991. It was formed after the Russian Revolution of 1917 and comprised 15 republics, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and of course, Kyrgyzstan.
The Soviet Union had a profound impact on its citizens. The communist regime imposed strict controls on people's lives, suppressing individual freedoms and creativity. The government controlled the economy, media, and education, and anyone who opposed the regime faced severe consequences, including imprisonment or even death - that includes those who practiced their religions, as they imposed atheistic kind of government.

I'm a Baptist, but I love Catholicism. Good report!!!
Thank you brother. You’re always welcome here. We’re brothers and sisters in Christ after all. 🤙🏼🥰
The inside of that church was so beautiful! I have no doubt that many searching for the truth of Christianity will be coming into the Catholic Church over the next five to ten years. Keep doing what you're doing!
Indeed! A solemn and peaceful place to bask on God’s goodness. ❤
Let’s continue to pray for everyone. God bless you 🙏🏼
4:29 Peace be with you
And with you too brother. 😊🙏🏼
❤❤❤thank you for sharing 🙏
Most welcome po. God bless! 🙏🏼
Oooooo how I love this faith, especially when I see Catholicism in faraway lands from where I live, yet one. This is truly the universality of holy mother church on full display. If I were to travel there I would hear the same readings and gospel and same procedure of the mass!!!! That’s just one gem of Catholicism. Thank you pilgrims feet. Great video. May God bless this great work. Watching from New York.
Yes. That’s true. And it always amazes me. Even when attending in different language’s mass, you still can relate with the flow.
God bless you. Let’s continue to pray for them. 🙏🏼
Not if you go to an Eastern Catholic Church. They are on their own calendar. Yet we are in communion with one another...
One Universal Church 🥳🥳🥳
Eeeyyy!! 🥳🥳💙💙
That's the irony though. Catholicism is not one Church. It is a communion of 24 canonical self governing churches who hold to the same faithj (mostly but not perfectly). Things are far messier than you may want to admit. Such is history.
Congratulations for this channel. It's the first of your videos that I have seen and it's great. God bless you
Thank you for the kind words. 😍 You may check out the Journey with Mary and Exodus series too.
God bless you! 🙏🏼💙
Always interesting to see Catholics from other parts of the world, truly the universal church
Agree! And it’s inspiring how the faithful and missionaries thrive. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I went to Mass in Stockholm, Sweden. I don’t speak Swedish at all, but the Mass is the Mass so I absolutely could follow along (even if I gave the responses in English).
Wherever you go, if you enter a Catholic Church, you are home. ❤❤❤
@@davidrwalshdefinitely agree with this, especially the response being in English. 😂
Thanks ! You are doing really great. God bless you good work 😍🎉🙏

Very interesting.
It is! Thank you Father. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Blessed be Kyrgyzstan 😇❤️🔥✝️🇵🇭
God bless kabayan 🇵🇭😊
Interesting video. I just came to Taiwan and met some older folks at a very tiny Catholic Church ….they too, feel unique and admit Taiwan has very few of them. The Mormons and Protestants did a very good job of conquering their ideology and it stills holds strong here
Wow! Interesting. Would you mind sharing the place and the name of the Church? Would love to meet them… someday. 😁
@ the name of the church is called 中華聖母堂 and it is located in Hengcun, Taiwan. Not a very spectacular church, but I recommend going to Wanjin basilica : the oldest and place with the most Catholics.
Though, most churches hold mass for Filipinos and Vietnamese. Extremely rare to see Taiwanese. Good luck
@@mrgenetics4063thank you.

I know the apostles administrator there, Fr. Tony Corchoran, S. J. He's a great Jesuit!
Yes, i definitely agree with this Father. He was the mass presider when i attended the Epiphany Sunday Holy mass. 💙🙏🏼

salve from the Lampung province of Indonesia This vast archipelagic country has the largest Muslim population in the world, around 85 percent. the number of Protestant Christians and Catholics is around 10 percent and the others are 5 percent
Wow! This is interesting. Praying I could someday go there and meet our brothers and sisters. 🙏🏼 God bless you
Very nice content. But isn’t it dangerous there now? How safe is it?
Nope. It’s one of the safest countries I’ve been. So laid back, people are respectful and they’re one of the kindest.
Amazing, we never realy converted asia besides a few countries like Philippines, east Timor ect but failed in countries lie china, japan, korea ect because they apparently didn't understand local culture ect
Yes in some. But even if there aren’t as many to those countries, their Catholic faith are actually strong. Very inspiring. 🥳🥳

Praise be the lord Jesus Christ! Yes even the very harsh communism did not prevail against the Catholic Church just as Jesus promised because He is the Creator and is patiently waiting for us to return and accept Him

Wow. it seems you travel a lot. Share about yourself and your reason why you called your channel Pilgrim's feet
@@paxcssr Hello Franceska. 😊
I’m Shena from the Philippines but currently lives and works in Dubai. Pilgrim’s Feet because I love traveling. My FEET brings me anywhere. 😂 but I don’t travel purely as tourist. My travels are mostly with purpose.. either volunteering, pilgrimage or for mission.. Just as how a PILGRIM is..
But most importantly, this is a product of prayers and obedience ‘cause I actually don’t want to be on camera (lol).. but this is where I’m called. 🥰 and i see it’s purpose now, and learned to embrace and love it.
For the glory of God, through Mary as well. 💙
