Roborock Q Revo MaxV at Amazon: geni.us/AZKX Check out our regularly updated Top 20 Best Robot Vacuums list on our website: vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/ UPDATE: August 23, 2024 - Following a firmware update, the Qrevo MaxV showed significant improvements, performing much better in our Obstacle Avoidance tests than initially observed. We’d like to acknowledge this improvement and update our perspective on the Qrevo MaxV-it's now a robot vacuum we can recommend with confidence. Correction: The earlier Q Revo we mention in this video is actually just the "Q Revo," without the "Pro".
The new Q Revo Pro is actually an entirely new model and not just a renamed version of the old Q Revo. It includes features like FexiArm edge mopping, 7,000 Pa of suction, hot water mopping, 10mm of mop pad lift, etc... The main differences between it and the MaxV is that it still uses structured light rather than an RGB camera and does not have a voice assistant. Based on the poor performance of the new camera in obstacle detection, seems like the Pro is actually a better buy as you get all important features for a cheaper price. TH-cam seems to be blocking comments with links (likely due to spam) and Google isn't returning the product page for me but if you go to the page for the MaxV and replace the "maxv" at the end of the link with "pro" you can see the product page for it with all of the features listed.
Oh that's why my comments get disappearing. Thank you for posting this! FYI there is also a Q Revo S. This model is almost identical to the original Q Revo but with an updated suction motor.
No carpet deep clean test and only a suction number? No test for the actual performance of flexi-arm? No test for the mop’s hot water cleaning? I was really looking forward to this review, and it turns out to be mostly a video-based presentation on the new vacuum. This used to be my go-to channel for robot vacuum reviews, but the quality of the reviews has really dropped immensely where they’ve basically become qualitative opinion pieces, instead of actual reviews with comparable results and numbers.
Also there's a lot of easily verifiable misinformation in this video about the whole "QRevo vs QRevo Pro" thing, which disappoints me to no end. A lot of people are commenting on the same thing and the issue hasn't even been acknolwedged yet.
Where is the best place to buy them when your are not from the US but from Europe? As it does not seem to be available on UK amazon neither on the German one
I think you have a mistake, the old version in the q revo. q revo pro is a newer version that is between the q revo and the q revo max v. I hope you'll talk about the new q revo pro too!
Holy crap it's $1400. Double what I paid for Q Revo a year ago. We're in premium price category and it can't even avoid obstacles. Crappy obstacle avoidance is one thing, but insane amount of false positives I was getting on our laminate flooring drove me nuts and I disabled the obstacle avoidance feature altogether and consider it nonexistent on Q Revo. For $700 I don't mind, but for $1400 forget it.
Dang vacuum wars used to be about research and testing. I’m seeing less testing lately and more reliance on marketing materials. I hope you take this feedback as positive and not negative. Vacuum wars is such a great resource, however a lot of people are bringing up valid complaints in the comments.
I have had the qrevo pro for 3 weeks imported from amazon germany to the uk... was with 200 euro off! It is NOT the same as the old model. It has hot mop wsshing and flexi arm mop which is very effective and 7000pa suction. It is extremely good and the avoidance using lidar And structured light is pretty good but not for small objects and cables. However with a quick check round before this is not an issue. It doesnt have voice assistant or the rgb camera but apart from that it has everything the maxv has for quite a bit less money. I am astounded how good it is and my Mrs is extremely happy!
This video needs to be updated to correct the part mentioning the q revo pro, which hasn’t been released yet. The vacuum being compared to the Q Revo MaxV is the QRevo non pro version.
The Qrevo Pro has been released, actually. I got mine last week and it's just brilliant. Was worried I'd be missing out on the camera (still am for two way calls I guess) but since the MaxV is just as bad as the OG revo for obstacle avoidance, it means I saved 150€ by going for the pro.
Thanks for the review! I always love the numerical comparisons between the vacuums instead of opinions like most other outlets. I got my q revo based on your videos and I do love it but I have to make sure the floors are completely free of cables, clothes, bag straps, etc before running it. It also gets stuck trying to go over the silver-colored bottoms of my furniture, so I have to move my chairs and set an invisible wall under my couch which is not ideal. I'm not comfortable running it when I'm not home. I was really hoping the q revo maxV would solve all this given the good obstacle avoidance of other roborock maxV robots, so I'm sad it didn't! Really glad I got to see your review though to know for sure.
@VacuumWars Another user commented on another video about Q Revo MaxV "The Qrevo maxv got the AI Smartplan with the latest firmware 02.30.38". If this was the version you tested, then it is very sad that the obstacle avoidance is still so bad 😞
Which mopping system is better for hard floor cleaning without leaving stains on the floor grout? Vibrating or spinning? I currently have a robot with vibrating mop and it doesn’t clean the grout at all. I’m considering to buy a spinning one next time. Is it better?
I just wish they'd add the ability to have it empty the bin by sqft or time to their app, I have two heavily shedding shepherds and have to schedule the rooms individually to trick it into emptying itself between rooms
I have one question with this mop and vacuum bots When there are stains or dirty water that needs to be mopped, these bots will "vacuum" the wet spots before mopping those strains right? Doesn't that make the vacuum brushes dirty?
Well they are rubber brushes but yes. It is not recommended to use any of these robo mop/vacuums on floors with puddles of standing water. They are for general floor cleaning, if you have a big mess you still need to grab a mop and or a wet/dry vac.
I have been in the market for a robot vacuum for quite a while now but since they're so expensive, I look for sales and do a lot of comparing. I'm not sure what I'll actually end up with but whichever one I choose, it will definitely be because of your videos. You are THE goto on vacuum comparison! Your tests are designed well and the data is meaningful. Thank you Thank you!! :)

I just bought this model and don't find it does an amazing job with mopping and it takes forever to find the base. I don't feel it's worth the higher price . Is the previous version better than the s series ?
AFAIK this new model was actually made to fix a flaw with the home base, not change the vacuum. The base gets clogged very easily and they made the pipes that empty the robot better to not get clogged. Or at least I read that online somewhere, I don't actually know for sure if it's true or rememeber where I read it.

I've had this issue with both of my QREVO. I had to download the Mi Home app and add it through there to initiate the Wi-Fi connection. Then I deleted the app and added to the Roborock app and it worked. Don't ask me why it had to be done that way 😅, but it worked.

Do not buy Roborock products!! It may work fantastically in the beginning, but both the dealer and roborock itself only give a two-year warranty and after that you are on your own. Mine is broken and Roborock doesn't know what the problem is but doesn't offer a solution. Scandalous!
Incredible how Roborock's vacuums are still almost trash at crevice pick up test after all these years. But hey, they got 2billions pascals (fake) suction 🤣

@@artishokof1426what would you say you value most between vacuuming, mopping, price and features? (in order, then I can give a recommendation)
@@artishokof1426 if you have more carpet, then I would get the S8 plus that carpet then get the original Qrevo
Poor obstacle avoidance is a deal breaker
