    Tests like these are probably considered bad marketing, which is why most youtubers end up doing 10+ minute videos showing/telling nothing exact about a product, only basics and features. But this is what we all need, keep doing what you're doing, this is GREAT.

    Today i checked my sisters new A55. She has it for few days , this sunday screen on time was 10 h and 40 min. And that drained 74% battery so she is left with 26% with all that ussage . But she was playing music on YT for around 5 hours plus some tiktok and whatsapp . This is amazing result compared to my s22 ultra with exynos. I have my a55 for a month now and the battery really is holding up. I play some light, online racing game for 5 hours and it doesn't really heat up and the battery only lost 30% from 100. I stay on Tiktok and TH-cam all day it last me 8 to 9 hour. Netflix for 3 to 4 hours took around 35%. Camera for 7 hours picnic photos and videos would be 50%. But if you do intensive tasks like video, gaming, and meetings, you pay twice as much for an Exynos S24 with a far worse user experience. I would easily recommend the A55 over the S24 as the former has 95% of the features, is under half the price, has significantly better battery life, and does not heat up.

      @andyH_England The A55 can't be handled by a Normal person due to its size. Batteries on s24 and S23 both last an entire day of use for me.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      @@principleofmeaninglessness Still, the heat on the Exynos, although it was more performant, was unacceptable. Either the chip is trash or poorly optimised for high-performing work like gaming. For casual use, just doing basic tasks it is fine, but those that want a phone that performs well in every situation should avoid the Exynos 2400 S24, as for its price it is compromised, and when the Summer comes this will be even more significant. Its failure to run benchmarks and when it did the extreme temps meaning the test was abandoned are deal-breakers and Samsung Knights trying to defend this are not helping.

      What's the worst part is, how can they deliver an inferior chipset at the same price as they are offering it in the USA region . I will suggest everyone to simply ignore and boycott samsung phones, just because they must understand that the customer must be valued. It's clear in the eyes of everyone that samsung is selling a rip off to the countries where the government isn't taking any serious actions against them. I don't think anyone must prefer Samsung just because of the flagship or photography experience. People either must switch to oneplus as they are improving by listening to customers well, or trust me at least apple phones will offer a better price to performance in this price.

    Only 1 issue, mixing in performance benchmarks in battery tests will produce inapropriate results, because higher performing device will end up producing "more work" e.g. more frames per second etc., with higher power draw. Which doesn't mean the device is less efficient, in the end.

    You should have included your S24 QSD in the test for all the Exynos haters 😉.
    Something important that could have been emphasized more clearly is that the power consumption of the S24 is lower in TH-cam and higher in Meet. Most likely because Meet is doing a lot more processing of the image. Gotta use that 2x performance of the Exynos 2400 for something 😅.
    To make the battery life and heat comparison a bit more fair you could put the S24 into light performance mode which makes it about 10% slower (still crushing any mid range SoC ^^).

I have an S22+ which is a good phone and it does it's job very well so I'm gonna use it for at least 3 more years but the battery life is very poor. My mother has a S23+ with a snapdragon and the battery lasts a lot longer so this might be the last time I buy a Samsung flagship if they don't get their chipsets right as time and time again it has been proven that snapdragon is just better. The more powerful the processor, the more it heats up. 2400 heats up more because it is more powerful. 1480 heats up less than 1380 because it is slightly stronger. I think this is the problem.

    Well the S24 SoC has 2x - 5x better benchmark performance, that's worlds apart and not even a fair comparison. Looking at 4:05 which is very interesting, you notice that it's even better optimized (lowest power consumption of all) but on the other hand has highest power for other tasks. As they're all performing the same task it seems S24 SoC fires its high power core(s) up unnecessarily early. So Samsung could definitely do some optimization per software update for better battery life.
    To check this at least in parts, you could do the same test but with S24 in energy saving mode (would still outperform the others by far performance wise).

    People say the Exynos 2400 is crap, but I don't get it. This video isn't a fair comparison. He doesn't mention the screen brightness and resolution, which were different for each phone. The speaker volume levels weren't set to the same level either. He also uses benchmark apps, but if you do a battery drain test, that's not fair because a more powerful chip with less battery capacity will, of course, use more battery than a mid-range phone with lower benchmarks and a bigger battery. You also need to consider all the extra features and options you get with an S24 series flagship phone compared to a cheaper A series phone. You don't buy an S24 for the battery life but for the smoothness and extra features. If you want an extremely long battery life, buy a cheap Chinese phone and be happy. I have an S24+ with an Exynos 2400, and my battery experience is great, so don't let this video fool you. You get what you pay for.

      That 2600 nits is useless anyway, no one will use it in real daily activity. The max brightness i ever used only on 30%-40% and i rarely use it. Unless you have abnormality with your eyes or you facing the sun directly, even that you don't need 2600 nits brightness.

    Why wouldn't Samsung want to make it all the same ? Have the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips in all their flagship models regardless of the country or region the phones are being sold, i'm sure that will help to push up sales of their handsets globally. Qualcomm Snapdragon chip's good performance is well known throughout the world as these chips are used by many smartphone manufacturers. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that the Exynos chip's performance pales in comparison to the Snapdragon's chips but at least until they have managed to resolve the battery life and heating issues, they should use Snapdragon chips in their handsets.
