Oh those old springs, u got rocks too. We used to use a 34' Morris, it pulled hard, and did not have the wide chisel. We used the straight chisels, they did a nice job turning over the soil.
It’s neat seeing you guys’ type of chisel plow. In my part of the world (midwestern U.S.,) it means something entirely different. Last time I stopped by my local equipment lot, they had a 23 shank Krause landsaver, which is 30 feet wide and in the right conditions would stop a 500 horsepower tractor dead in its tracks
Horse Lake Ranch no it’s not actually. What I’m describing is a coulter chisel. www.kuhn-usa.com/crop/tillage-tools/primary-tillage/coulter-chisels/landsaver-4810
Its workin up nice buddy. When you do skip passes it feels like you get done faster then you realize you have to go back yet hahahaha. Glad the lights worked out for ya!!👌
Thats wicked we have the same chisel plow and i can spin my tractors out ripping in the fall with it! were not too far from you I'm over in Dawson Creek area
What model of chisel plow is that? I have a 39ft case IH 5600 chisel plow I do nh3 with behind my case 9150. 3/4in knives going doing 3-4in at 5mph. Degelman harrows on mine
LEDs 🙄🤣😂🤔🤬 I put a whole bunch on the service truck, all new wiring, so everything works great!! Had a couple of extra LEDs, so I changed out the dead halogens on the back of the cab on the 3394.. I could swear they worked when I put them on, but... I guess I didn't check. First time I needed them in the field, they kinda half work, only part of the LEDs light up and not very bright.. I know they worked before I put them on.. need to swap wires....
I don't know how you keep from having the chisel clogging up with residue. We always had a problem with our chisel plows and field cultivators, even in bean stubble... Usally had to disc fields first. Residue management was a real problem for us.
Good luck getting the manure on! If I remember correctly it's been awhile since you were able to spread any and you have quite a mountain of shit to get through! lol
Nothing works a tractor like a 30 foot chisel plow. We run a 25 foot chisel plow on our 580 quadtrac. Our ground is hilly and full of stones . We try to vertical till with a Salford 25 foot unit . But for areas of high compaction we still chisel plow or rip them. Those older case 4wd tractors can do tillage well . Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends!
Your getting cold and we are just starting to warm up in Aus silage and hay on the round in some places looking forward to a bit of sun after a cold winter (for us) even saw some snow this year. when was the last time that tractor had a valve set on it? Might be my ears but sounded like a loose valve at the end of that vid
Some times I ask questions during your broadcast and I find an answer to my question in the rest of the video, your so comfortable to listen to that I find myself having a conversation with you...great channel
How the heck do you not end up with sunburn welding without gloves even my last lot of arc electrodes make me look like a tomato. Currently not enjoying the results of repairing a number of galvanized ring feeders but at least the next larger lot of welding is painted and not galvanised.
Not sure if u can with covid but if u go to watch ur calves sell do a video on that do u sell um at dawson creek bc i use to live in grande prairie alberta
@@farmerfarmer2801 actually i am wrong..we sold the majority..there are still 15 more calves to sell that could fit on the truck....I'll take video of that
I hope you film the manure spreading I'm kinda looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing tyson
Would love to see you spreading
Its in the process

I some fields yes
it has been cold and snow here in wisconsin but getting warmer now. love your videos
Yup I much prefer the 2 inch spikes as well. Way smoother job after them to
yea and dont have to change them every year
I am amazed at the size of your fields and how straight you plow. I don't farm any fields that I can plow straight
And my fields are considered small here
Looks like it is doing a good job ! Hopefully it will help you in the spring !!
Nice video. Hopefully you get All Done soon before the Cold Comes 👍👍
Not a bad looking & pretty good sounding 'ol 9270. 👍🏻👍🏻🙂🍻🍻 Thanks for the ride along.
Your welcome.. the ole 855 sounds good
Awesome . Look like the 9270 she puts HP to the ground real nice. Sounds great.
Looking good Tyson. Good to see some tillage
Thanks 👍
I love those big flat fields.
Me to..but I still like trees bordering every mile
Great video of tillage, thanks for sharing
Our Indian summer just started, we have till a week on Sunday to get after it, good luck over there.
Want part of bc are you
I love that 9270 case IH
Gee, bare handed welding 🥽. Good way to keep a nice tan on your hands!! Careful. Good video. Thanks.

I could stop this tractor in its tracks to if I put it deeper.
I believe that's called a subsoiler up here
@@horselakeranch yea if I pulled a sub soiler it be only 12 maybe
@@Northern_Farmer i seen a guy working some saline soil with one then he spread manure on it. Be interesting to see if it helps

I fund it makes it easier to get lined up for the autosteer. I think I have to redo the calibration...it shouldn't be that hard

And some new fleece lined work gloves also

All good!

Nice!!
I was going to ask if you'd spread any manure yet.
But probably be better on frozen ground, won't get stuck, hopefully 🤔
Spread a few loads
Like like the video TYS on chiseling .
Thanks Leo

If you ever have a big ball of fire fall in your hands, you’ll never forget them again, it hurts, trust me I know lol 😂
The thick chisel points are the ones i use also
I like them better
Looks like the chisel plow is doing a nice job. Isn't autosteer nice? It sure makes it nice when you don't have to turn so sharp on the ends.
Sure is
The harrow behind the Chisel Plow.
Was called a hundred stick harrow in Sweden in the past.
We call them diamond harrows
@@Northern_Farmer
Different names for the same thing.
The tractors I drove in the 60's and 70's
managed to pull such a harrow with 4 parts.

How much fuel does the tractor burn per hour tilling?
7 to 10 I think

Old smokey needs a set of tires real bad! how much would it cost you to buy 8 tires for that tractor?
Probably around 12,000
