Alex = kinda Shania Twain looking but Sarah's bit funnier, another informative and detailed farming video. Farm girls really like tractor driving. Especially all the smiling they do lol... Thanks alot Andy!
Your spring time chisel plowing and spreading videos are my favorite to watch each year. The rear windshield wiper on my 8850 is just like your 8360Rs. 👍👍
It's obvious that you love working on the equipment and farm Andy. I'm most pleased though to see the love you have for your kids too which makes you a great role model for so many of us viewer. Thanks so much for posting and God Bless.
Hi Andy, as far as I'm concerned you should have millions and millions of viewers!! This is the best farming channel on TH-cam! Hope Alex and Mrs.H feeling better!!
Too many puedo farm channels vying for popularity while ignoring quantitative instructional, informative content. The non-farming public mistakenly views the few with voluminous subs & presumes those few represent modern Agriculture. Millions of YT channels exist, farming must compete w/ a plethora of topics, everything imaginable. Further, some "farm" channels are a turn off, a disgrace to the profession. The (grounds) site is an unkempt shambles, junk strewn everywhere, equipment falling apart, can't convey & demonstrate what are their objectives? just give me some views so YT will send a check. Face it, farming is not a sexy topic & YT thrives on click bait. hint: farming in a 💅👙👙is not farming. So wholesome channels like Andy Hourigan grow slowly, & covid is declining, so real work supplants free time to surf new content. One lesson to learn here, is THIS: In total, Andy's viewers are among the most consistent & loyal of any channel viewers. So the road to 100,000 may take a little longer than w/ those channels sponsored, (make that *owned*) by deere or case, but that road is paved with folks that are truly invested in the Hourigan way, the Hourigan family.
Don't crow too loud there Andy. I never missed a day for 11 years then spent the better part of 7 months, six surgeries getting rid of a nagging problem that got real bad at 6 am on a Saturday morning. Surgeries, chemo, and radiation saved the day for me.
I have had the privilege of chisel plowing witha John Deere 8310 R and a case IH Ecolo-Tiger seven shank disc ripper and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I have also use an 8360 RT crawler tractor on that same descriptor and it doesn’t slip as much, but it seems like that unit has had more troubles.
Hey Andy ! you have a good humor whit the soil testing whit a shavel and rolling in the dirt to make shure the soil is ready .😂😂😂 Very good ! i love it! time is $ on the farm .good luck whit the planter . Thanks to Alex and Sarah to pick you up in there tractor for us . you are the man! Thanks Andy Hourigan the great and have a good day.
It was nice to see Alex and Sara again back in the tractor cabs. Alex, I hope you keep feeling better. Y'all stay healthy. Looking forward to more cultivating and planting vids. Andy your planter overhaul is interesting but its looking great as it comes together. Take care and God bless yall.
I think it's great your girls get out there and run those tractors, good for them, your teaching them to have a good work ethic, they are learning things are not free you have to work for it they couldn't have a better role model, your a father your kids can be proud of.
We have corn and beans going in right now. My father is doing corn my uncle is doing beans and I'm running the vertical tillage tool ahead of the bean planter. We have 420 acres of beans and 270 acres of corn . You guys will be planting soon enough as well ! Great video keep up the good work !
You must sleep well at night Andy after running around all day- literally. Today must have been legs and cardio day. It’s so nice seeing Alex and Sarah smiling as they do field work. Definitely two hard working young ladies! Thanks for sharing another great video.
I hope Alex isn't coming down with covid with that cough. Love the chisel plowing videos and it's great to see the girls out there doing it as well. Alex may be short but she drives the tractor tall.
Would you please show the different stages of growth of the alfalfa? I myself used to grow alfalfa but the get big or get out pretty much shut me down so be it!!! But andy I appreciate you sharing your family with us!! I mean You are extremely hard workers!! God bless you all!!!
This one was really great Andy & family ! You have captured the nitty gritty ( and shitty ) aspect of getting the lagoon empty and the general run up to seeding ! Interesting for sure . Can now understand the importance of the shop work to keep everything running as you have shown . Best wishes for a good run with the planter after the upgrade . Still amazed at how your soils stand up to the deep tillage . Another season just rolls right on !
Great Video Andy. I think you've been farming long enough to not need a shovel, a bucket, a trowel, a moisture meter, a probe, a thermometer, and Litmus paper (gotta check the PH) to know when your fields are ready for the plow!!. And you just had your manure haulers in there. I think you were informed well enough! LOL!!🚜
Good to see Alex and Sarah out in the field! Do they draw straws in the morning to see which does chisel plowing and which does manure? We know Sarah enjoys chisel plowing! With tractors we also know Sarah likes them bigger and badder! Andy, you’re just full of sarcasm today, must mean you are starting to feel better! Keep it up!
Just an everyday farm doing every day work with out the fanfare. Yup tractors get dirty. That custom fuel trailer will do the same as them expensive ones for a lot less money and headache. Its a lot dryer than I thought it would be with the recent rain and snow last week. I will be starting planting and tillage next week in Connecticut. Keep up the great content.
It's not often I watch your channel ..... but it does happen. I'm so impressed with your kids ........ they maneuver the tractors like they never did anything else. I realize ... You must be a proud father. I myself grew up on a farm. In Sweden, it is completely impossible to buy a farm of 5000-10,000 acres ...... they are too expensive ...... and they are extremely few. You have to have large areas .... to get bearing capacity.
The farm I work at has a 9320. That's probably one of my favorites they have. Only down side is it doesn't have a pto. But man does that turbo sing, and I never get tired of hearing it
Hello Andy I did say that not long ago I dont get sick but something has me now, not feeling well. Great video nice to just get my mind off of other things. Your daughters doing great. Have a good day.
So funny. The comments you must get about the soil test comments. We see all these big 70ft units planting into dirt, no Soil in site and they still test to get told they have desert not soil.. Good on you and your girls. Hard workers.
Love watching your videos do to how your Kids are so involved in the farm and muti tallented they are welding one week Redoing the planter operating equipment
Great to see Alex back on set. What's the contingency plan if the planter is not ready on time, get your Dad to do it all with the smaller machine? Amazing to see that dust after the recent snow. Loved the Andrew comment " are you planting?" . Given what you have done to the planter, he will grow up to be a great comedian!
Nice to see Alex back in the saddle she does good work you are really good with your kids I see Sarah is working to she does good work also you have some nice kids you are a great Father to your kids ever one should have a father like you. You really have your hands full farming I don’t no how you keep up on all the things you half to do put you get it done i don’t know how you keep up with it all your great keep up the videos l love watching them. Better get back on the corn planter ha ha see ya have a good week
Nice video . I miss the field work . the spreading and plowing . Good too see that ya got some good dry ground to work . The Girls have Beautiful smiles ! The big Tractor that i ran was a 8870 ford & a 8970 for plowing lol . Years ago the big tractor i ran was a 966 farmall hydo worked great pulling 5 bottom IH plows . That tractor also was good with the John Deer 336 kicker baler .that was a 100 hp and new only cost 26,000.00 . now a new 100 hp is over a 100 grand ain't it ? I posted on FB last night i made my first million last year . But it cost me a Million 2 dollars to make so i'm still 2 dollars in the hole lol . Enjoy the video . 👍👍
Nice to see spring work starting. Hope your Wife and Alex feel better soon. Spring colds are the worst 😫. You should share some of your cold and flu medicine with them. "Bourbon " lol
Thank you for showing close up of Manure injection into ground. I love it the reuse of cow Manure for crop planting application. Boy you were not kidding about the dirty stink of cow Manure. Your boots must be a mess, stinky I now know what all those tanks are for sitting with all the other plowing tow behind Tractor are for. Where Farmers store all there PLOWING tow behind equipment. So, so interesting on your video. Thank you very much for showing what they all do.
Love hearing the girls laugh and I’m sure Andrew’s foot probably hit the ground getting off the bus and he was calling to confirm some work to do. Great job All
Andy, you have to be so dang proud of all your kids! I was laughing to myself thinking of the comments you were going to get about walking in the manure behind the tanker. I'm sure someone will say something. LOL I will tell you, I would rather play in that poo than what I'm in today, we had a septic tank back up in a rental house and flood the basement, OMG what a mess! All on top of getting my MRI results yesterday and finding out I have a tumor on my spine along with at least 5 herniated discs and degenerative disc disease. Oh boy, what a couple of days.
You need to get a bunch of those car air fresheners in that manure injection BIG great looking JD Tractor. Just a thought. That extra seat in Tractor really makes your video of this great. Clear none jerky video footage. Excellent job my Farming friend. Thank those girls of your for there hard work. Love to see Female country young women working those BIG Tractor's. It's a group effort, no matter what sex in the country. This is were the real Females of the great USA shin. So glad you make videos showing hard working Females being strong. Those TWO Tractor driving girls are A+ in my book.
Always great videos love seeing how the the field work gets done and the prep for planting. How do you decide how deep to chisel plow? Its great to see the young ladies out there enjoying the field work.
That looks like some lovely soil where Alex is should think it takes very little to work it down to get a nice seed bed. I though you already had had autosteer in the 2 chisel plow tractors called Alex and Sarah 😂 It's such a nice feeling when you can start the new season off and get back on the land again, great video Andy 👍
School days are always long for farm kids. Once you get into the afternoon, the minute hand seems to move at half speed. It would have been good to see the bus drop Andrew off in the field. When I was growing up, we would always be out of school by time first cutting started, but missing corn silage was always painful.
Well Andy I don't farm near as big as you do and we still mold board here so we either go out with a heavy disc on small grain stubble and or sometimes corn stalks and sod and the other stalks we will moldboard. My role of thumb when I get in corn stalks of the moldboard plow is if the stocks will turn and not plug the ground underneath is probably fit. As to your comment about walking away from the planter project for a little bit there's no shame in that no harm no foul to the most respected guys that have helped me with mechanic work over the years around our place here have told me sometimes you just got to put the tools down walk away and it'll come to you and sometimes just got to go to bed at night and lay in bed and think about it a little bit and it'll come to you no shame and walking away from it taking a fresh perspective either couple hours later or overnight
Count me in as one of “the millions and millions of viewers “ !!! Thanks Andy & Alex
Alex and Sara are hard-working young farmers. I'm sure you are proud of all your children.
Wow the A Team is running like a finely tuned machine. It is like poetry in motion. Andrew barely got off the bus and is already chomping on the bit.
Alex has such a beautiful smile. Love video Andy it's always good to get back in the fields.
Woman machine operators, you can't beat them. Awesome keep up the great work ladies........
After a long time i come back and watch your movie, in a cold winter in Brasil...
So nice of the ladies to "allow" you to ride along. To bad you cant find someone to sit in the tractor to load.
Thanks bud
Alex and Sarah are hard working girls. You are blessed with your family.
It's obvious that you love working on the equipment and farm Andy. I'm most pleased though to see the love you have for your kids too which makes you a great role model for so many of us viewer. Thanks so much for posting and God Bless.
One thing I’ve noticed is that Alex is usually smiling 😊 and has a beautiful smile . I’m sure that you are a proud father Andy .

Nice to see Alex again! What a thrill it must be for you and your wife to have all these young people involved with the family farm!

You must sleep well at night Andy after running around all day- literally. Today must have been legs and cardio day. It’s so nice seeing Alex and Sarah smiling as they do field work. Definitely two hard working young ladies! Thanks for sharing another great video.
Good to see Alex again. Another great video!
I hope Alex isn't coming down with covid with that cough. Love the chisel plowing videos and it's great to see the girls out there doing it as well. Alex may be short but she drives the tractor tall.
Your daughter's are such pretty young women, I hope their brothers are educating the young men chasing after them how how they should be treated😉

Tillage is necessary w/ repetitive manure applications🚜💯
Great Video Andy. I think you've been farming long enough to not need a shovel, a bucket, a trowel, a moisture meter, a probe, a thermometer, and Litmus paper (gotta check the PH) to know when your fields are ready for the plow!!. Don't discount those tools, science plays a critical role. Andy listens to his Agronomists, seed consultants, & advisors & his DAD.
It’s nice to see your daughter smiling keep it up girl looks good on you
Looks like no more snow coming.
Fun to see it getting started again.
Awesome narration Andy! Couldn't have said it any better myself!

Andy I very much like that idea having a clean tractor before shooting the youtube video with your girls driving around in the field ;-)
You need to get a bunch of those car air fresheners in that manure injection BIG great looking JD Tractor. Just a thought. That extra seat in Tractor really makes your video of this great. You are lucky to have talented tractor operators that are content.

When I was growing up, we would always be out of school by time first cutting started, but missing corn silage was always painful.
One of your best vids. Thanks!
Alex is doing a fine job with that chisel plow
Enjoy your videos Andy! Hope the warm weather arrives soon and stays for more than a day or 2..
You sir talk just to talk and not say anything. I've listened for 10 minutes and I just can't take it anymore. Have yourself a good day. Bye.
Bye
Well Andy I don't farm near as big as you do and we still mold board here so we either go out with a heavy disc on small grain stubble and or sometimes corn stalks and sod and the other stalks we will moldboard. My role of thumb when I get in corn stalks of the moldboard plow is if the stocks will turn and not plug the ground underneath is probably fit. Good to see the plow in the ground! Thanks Andy
Looks like she is doing one heck of a job !
Well another good video. Seems like everything is going well 👍
