Bro what. 82k on the dash. What a steal. I’ve had my 2006 cts for 6 years and it’s been the best daily driver I’ve ever had. Never put a dollar in her other than tires, break pads, a battery and oil changes
I have an 04 CTS-V and when I heard there was a clunk when engaging the clutch my first thought was the rear diff bushings since my car did the same around 80k miles. They make a killer aftermarket bushing with a kind of hook that bolts to the diff housing to add additional support. That aftermarket bushing has now lasted me a solid 70k miles with little to no degradation.
Thank you so much man, you gave me hope now. All the videos on TH-cam are several years old and have terrible angles on what to do with maintenance. I got my 05 a little over a month ago for 10k and 155k on the dash. Brand new RPM transmission(w/ warranty) which is why I had to get it.

Oh and pro tip, set it out with the direct sunlight on the tail lights. Then pull on the tail light lenses. If they pull loose, then you know you need to re glue them before you lose them on the highway.
Instead of buying a CS rear diff bushing, you can buy an Energy Suspension part # 3.2125G and cut it down slightly and it's a direct fit in the diff without cutting or pressing out the metal sleeve (the most time consuming job by far which can be a days job) and expensive if renting the tool. Why? The motors aren’t good, it’s not fast or powerful or even quick? Why do you have such a sentimental affection for the car? They have really bad interiors for a Cadillac. I have the same affection for my 05 deville. But that is a completely different animal. Not trying to be rude, just curious.
I have a new buddy who specializes in used parts for my V2 and anything CTS or V. He gets all kinds of stuff. I'm in north NJ, he's just over the border in NY state. If u need anything, lemme know. ALSO, save money on emblems and replace the inserts from ReBadge Design. I'm the V guru if u need help n sourcing the good stuff.
That starting issue seems like the car hasn't been properly tuned after the cam swap, i had the exact same symptoms with my cam swap, it would randomly die after starting or hiccup and go up and down the range trying to get to its idle setpoint. Bumping up the cold start idle and a few airflow related settings helped for me, but it probably needs a bit more than that, especially if you dont know the cam specs.
As a prior CTS-V owner and NH native, I subbed and plan to follow the series. If the stability message still comes up on the screen, the previous owner probably disconnected the yaw sensor. Especially if he tracked the car often. Pull up the rear of the center console and it's right there.
@@adamhayden5152 well I’ve always wanted a V8 like GT350 or the CTS V but right now the car is making about 750whp with the current setup and the cash price of the 17 CTSV was 60k so I spent less than half that for a built heads, bigger turbo, built block, clutch and all that with a retune. The car is in the shop getting all the mods done and I have a 6 speed which I know lots of cars are going to Auto which I don’t want. Now I only wanted a different car for the power not for luxury or anything like that because with this car I can barely hear the radio and if I had a V or something I would have a loud exhaust and headers and all that so it’s not for comfort just power.

Nice find
I paid $6k for mine. It had a bad cam. I wanted a test mule for learning HP Tuner. TSP 233/239 110LSA and it rips. The really are special cars.
I know it’s late but there’s one up for sale pops out of reverse won’t go into 5 or 6th, asking 5k worth it?
I have an 05 cts non v has that same rear end clunk going in reverse. Now I need a trans so I'm told. I love the car. I'll never get rid of it. Just can't afford to fix it yet.
Why? The motors aren’t good, it’s not fast or powerful or even quick? Why do you have such a sentimental affection for the car? They have really bad interiors for a Cadillac. I have the same affection for my 05 deville. But that is a completely different animal. Not trying to be rude, just curious.
I dont know if it was cheaper than my latest V1 I scooped up to build ;) - but awesome video! You've got a new sub.
Thanks brotha I really appreciate it!
Thanks brotha! Saw that via a Google search and also grabbed a spare sensor just in case that one was bad 🤙
I was going to buy a CTS-V but decided to mod my Subaru even more for more power. I do love the Vs but the 17 and newer I want is in the 60k range.
You wanted a Cadillac but decided on a Subaru? Why not just buy a ats 2.0t? Can easily get them up to 500whp and have the luxury.
@@E85_STI ats can easily fit a v8 the Camaro rides on same alpha platform. 2.0t ats can be had with a 6speed and comes factory with an LSD…
Hahahaha I love the Yokohama edition leather seats comment !
Might be MAF SENSOR might needs to be changed or clean for the idle issue
I've been building a few, get rid of that diff brace and do a nice poly bushing in the diff, it's your safest bet. Those braces are known to cause issues.
How much was it I don’t know if I missed that part or what I don’t recall you saying the price
$5k brotha. Forgot to mention it in this video. More details in the second video if you're interested
