I think the project is dea for the moment as the Planning Permission was revoked following an Application to the Court by objectors. I personally thought the project should have gone ahead but with a much higher Tower element so that the look was really striking when approaching Torquay Harbour from the sea. There was a lot of opposition to the scheme on account of intended car parking on the "so called "Cary Green". Memories are short, however, because a large part of that area was, until 20 or so years ago, covered by the very unattractive Marine Tavern, which was a flat roofed building and a not very celubrious pub.
