I was a Deck hand on the Western Ladies Ferries that operated out of TorQuay and went all the way up too the River Dart , I was sixteen years old back in 1976 and it was a glorious job , RIP Captain Jack Chivers who got me the Summer Job , it was wonderful I even got too steer the boat once in open water , loved it ❤The western ladies Ferry’s where former World War Two Torpedo Boats , not sure if they’re still seaworthy or running .
