Wow! Thank you so much for posting this video! Even as a 50 yo woman I am well known for being absent minded and burning my food. I LOVE my insta pot but was nervous about using it till this video. Just made the chicken and it came out perfect! Potatoes are almost done too. Thanks so much!
I have to say that your videos were some of the first ones I watched when I got my Instant Pot and now every time I use it I tell myself “sealing, not venting.” I am sure I’d forget to put it in sealing but because of your saying I check each time! Love your videos even as a non meat eater!
Great and ty for sharing...im going to get a pot for myself. Small tip..always put a small pinch of turmeric in rice.....turmeric gives alot of health benefits.
Great instructions on basic prep~! I hate to cook meats, so was considering an Instant Pot to minimize how much I have to touch the raw meat. I'm pleased that you can cook directly from frozen! I may go ahead and try one.
I just got my 1st instant pot as a Xmas gift and I’m excited to make your recipes, love it that is for new beginners... thanks for sharing, i will be subscribing
Good basic stuff, thanks! On whole chickens: I suggest pulling the giblets from the body cavity prior to freezing. That way you don't have the nasty bag of goop inside the cooked bird.
Love your podcast, I have 2 instant pots had for some time at least 3 or 4 yrs and never been used think they will be now with down to earth recipes. Thank you for sharing.
I used to be terrified of the old style pressure cookers... but everyone says these new ones are so much better. So.. just get one and start experimenting. I'm having a grand time now! So glad I finally gave in. LOL
Yes please. Some advice on what you can stir and what you shouldn't stir when cooking in the IP would be really appreciated. Sometimes what I cook does singe at the bottom.
Do not stir anything with tomato sauce, tomatoes, or marinara sauce. The tomato product needs to go on top, water at the bottom, everything else in between.
Happy New Year Kristin!!!! You are truly amazing! Thank you so much for more great ideas with the Instant Pot, loved all of them. It is people like you that help people like me that don't think out of the box, so to speak. Love you and your ideas. I have a question on the hamburger, does it have to be frozen, and if not frozen, does the time change? That is a wonderful idea for hamburger, and the best part is all the grease remains inside the bottom of the pot! Simply wonderful. I am so looking forward to all the recipes you will be sharing this year. Thank you so much for all your work that you share with all of us. Big big bear hug to you! Claudia
Gotta tell you ; even though I don't personally own an instapot ; your channel was the first thing to come to mind today when a friend wanted recipes for the instapot ! I sent her your way !
Thanks for this review, it was very helpful. I still haven’t bought an Insta Pot but I’m sure it will be in my kitchen soon. What pushed me over the edge is seeing the grease that drained off the ground beef! That was amazing. I’m thinking that seasoning your food before you cook it should not be a problem, correct? I’m so glad I found you, your videos are wonderful. Thank you and Happy New Year.
I’m so happy I found this video for beginners. I’m still learning with my insta pot. I’ve done a whole chicken n u r so right it’s sooo tender I haven’t gotten to make to many meals with it as yet. My husband doesn’t eat veggies n he can’t have any green ( ex. green beans) as he is on a certain blood thinner. We like out meals very simple nothing fancy besides he’s more of a meat n potato man n definitely no hot sauce or any to spicy. I appreciate u showing how to do ground beef. Thanks for that. ♥️😊👍
I caved and bought one of these. Now know I am a farm wife of many years and can cook from scratch on a wood stove. I personally do not see some of these recipes and being easier or less clean up truthfully in many cases, however, I bought mine specifically for making yogurt from our dairy animals...ie goats, sheep and cow. For that, I hear good things. AND we raise pinto and navy beans as one of many crops on our farm and found this to be, at least in this case a potentially less time-consuming way of making beans. I am sure this item will have many uses. I bought accessories and plan to try them out. Thus far I seem to have more stuff to wash. No different that if I prepared these meals conventionally.

Hello! I just received my Lux 3 qt.Mini Instant Pot for Christmas as I am just cooking for one. How do I adjust the recipes for say the rice which of course expands? I would appreciate any tips you can give me for my cooking. I have done the water test but am anxious to try rice. Also, do you have a tried and true recipe for stuffed green peppers? Love your show you are the reason I wanted my pot. I found you on U Tube one day and decided that as an 82 year old great grandma I might cook for myself instead of just snacking or eating frozen meals if I had this pot. Thank you again! Barbara Gates
Hi Barbara! You made my whole day! First let me ask what kind of rice do you have? Then I can help you even better! If you would email me at Kristen@sixsistersstuff.com - then I will for sure be able to answer any questions you have at anytime! Thank you for your sweet comment! I'm so glad you found me!
My daughter has a six quart ! I got them the 8 quart for Christmas and some add on’s ! Son in law is delighted ! I’ve not used mine too much but I will from now on !
I got my chop and stir at Dollar General for $2!!! Couldn't afford alot at the time and ran across it at DG. Its a colored one but works just the same. Makes life and hamburger meat so much easier. Just wanted to throw that out there if theres anyone that cant afford alot or just doesn't spend that much on cooking utensils.
Wow! Excellent video I am definitely going to pick one up. My question is about pre marinated chicken. How do you think that would be in the instant pot?
Thank you for showing these basic recipes. I am just starting to get into the cooking healthy thing. These tips are useful. I cannot wait to get my Instant Pot. I will be watching your recipes. Have an amazing day Cheryl A Nocera
Hey! I’m so glad that I found your channel last night. I’ve been wanting an instant pot and been wondering if there was many easy and quick things that I could cook in it and have been looking online to find some easy instructions to teach me how to use it if, I bought one because I have been saving for one. I did take the money that I’ve been saving for one and get me one today. I hope I bought the right one for my family but by listening to your video on that , I think I did.I just had back surgery on Dec.28 and I can’t do a lot right now so these easy recipes of yours are going to help me out a whole lot.I subscribed to your channel just by watching these 6 recipes that I will be trying. And I love those bear claws, do you know where I can get me some? Thanks again for what you are doing, please keep it up! Have a good day. Hey I just wanted to come back on here and let you know we had the whole chicken recipe tonight for dinner and it was great. My chicken was already seasoned and it was 8 lbs. but it was falling off the bones after cooking for only 60 minutes. Thank you again!
Actually, I just bought a Duo Crisp + Air Fryer Instant Pot. It should arrive tomorrow. I would like to know how to cook presoaked dried beans in the Instant Pot. I have yellow split peas, black-eyed peas, and green lentils to start off with. I will probably start with the yellow split peas since I have the most of them to use.
To take it a bit beyond basics, you can cook quinoa perfectly in one, and just add a bit of ground cloves, and it turns out soooo good! Just don't put too much water in it. You need to first rinse the quinoa, and then soak it several hours, or overnight. I even add apple cider vinegar to the water to break it down more. All this is because it gets real bitter if you dont do all that. Believe me it works!
Great recipes! I want to try the steamed vegetables. How often do you change the ring? Any secrets to washing it each time? It seems like it is sometimes hard to get the smell off
Go to amazon.com and buy you the set of three extra colored silicone rings, they're only about 11 bucks. Then when you get smelly Foods use the color ring that you cook your smelly Foods in and you save another colored ring for cooking the stuff that has no smell to it at all and you save the other ring for doing things like bread or whatever which might absorb smells backwards and what not but since the silicone rings are so cheap that's the easy way of dealing with them. As far as washing them I just use warm soapy water rinse them off dry them off and you are good to go.
I remember someone sliced up some lemons and poured some vinegar and water in their instant pot and I think steamed it for 5-6 minutes. They said that is supposed to help remove the smell.
@@crickettgreen2670 I agree with everything that Crickett said! I have about 4 rings and I switch them out. When I store my instant pot, I don't seal the lid, just put it upside down on top so my rings don't sink so much. ha ha.
@@SixSistersStuff Howdy, can't say I had high expectations about a pot, but your happy nature and clear info made that kinda fun. Son of a nutcracker, I need to figure a way to make 4 cheese pizza. Have a great day! :)

Hi! I got my instant pot for Christmas so I am just starting out. Thank you for this video! My question is.....if I put frozen chicken breasts in, can I also add seasonings with it?
Ok, So I have some questions about the ground beef. It looked really dry! I actually prefer some fat in my beef. I was curious why you dont (or have you ever) cooked it in the steamer basket in your pot? If so how did that turn out. I also would prefer it not all come out in one big chunk.
Hi, I have two questions re the rolls. They look delicious and was wondering if you're using self rising flour in addition to the yeast, and if not can you use self rising flour instead of the yeast? Also, about how many rolls does this recipe make ( with 7 cups of flour)? Thanks!
LOL I was thinking the same thing ;) no seasoning? I figured she was showing more Instapot technique than actual recipes. I have not used my Instapot yet so the video is a great help, I can swing the seasoning ;)
You're going to love your 8 qt... My first was the big one too... Never any questions about sizing down recipes to fit and you're sure to have leftovers! 👍
Dawn Lanni I already do love it!! I made my Christmas ham in there along with chicken wings and I’ve also made Mac and cheese. So yummy and love how quick and easy it is to use.
I never use the preset buttons because those cook times are chosen for me. I may want less or more time. Of course you can adjust those times after selecting the desired preset button, but it’s just as easy to use the manual button and select your own preferences to start with.
This seems so advanced to me. I´m a beginner and I just uploaded some instant pot unboxing and water test videos. Please let me know how i can be better.😘😘😘
Thanks for the recipes and the tips. You answered a lot of my questions. I just got an Instant Pot and today I came across your videos. Now I am addicted.
For pot in pot cooking I see 'anything marked as oven-safe' but does this include the disposable aluminum foil pans as well? I dont want to buy a cheesecake pan if I dont like it so want to test it in an aluminum pan first before investing.
Can you PLEASE get the IP blender and do a review for us?! I'm looking to get a new blender (my nurtibullet extractor started leaking :/ I tend to over fill...) and I can't decide between a ninja or this one!

Hi! I got my instant pot for Christmas so I am just starting out. Thank you for this video! My question is.....if I put frozen chicken breasts in, can I also add seasonings with it?
Kate Myzell yes of course. Just add some broth of your choice with your own added seasoning.
@@EkAks Yes! Exactly what Pakeezah said!
Six Sisters' Stuff awww thank you dear 🌻
Pakeezah i
Mavis Anspach yes???
Thanks! I love you!
Have not bought yet. What size should I get and what might be bet price?
Ok, So I have some questions about the ground beef. It looked really dry! I actually prefer some fat in my beef. I was curious why you dont (or have you ever) cooked it in the steamer basket in your pot? If so how did that turn out. I also would prefer it not all come out in one big chunk.
Hi, I have two questions re the rolls. They look delicious and was wondering if you're using self rising flour in addition to the yeast, and if not can you use self rising flour instead of the yeast? Also, about how many rolls does this recipe make ( with 7 cups of flour)? Thanks!
good video but sister, I beg you season your food. you don't realise how much your missing out on
court I said the same thing. Lol 😂
LOL I was thinking the same thing ;) no seasoning? I figured she was showing more Instapot technique than actual recipes. I have not used my Instapot yet so the video is a great help, I can swing the seasoning ;)
Girl!!!! I was screaming...WHERE IS THE SEASONING🤷🏽♀️
Marc D I thought the same I think she’s just showing us how to use the pot and she helped a lot 🤗
i prefer not to if i want to taste it all natural chicken instead of season chicken !
My favorite way to shred chicken is with my hand mixer. It's so fast!
I got my first instant pot for Christmas ( It’s a 8 qt Eeeeekkk 😬 ) but I’ve been subbed to your channel for about a year now lol
Welcome to the club! You are going to LOVE it!!!!
Hi there. Why didnt you use the poultry setting and steam setting. You do everythign manually? Is there a reason? Thanks!
I never use the preset buttons because those cook times are chosen for me. I may want less or more time. Of course you can adjust those times after selecting the desired preset button, but it’s just as easy to use the manual button and select your own preferences to start with.
Thank you so much. My mom got me one for Xmas and I was at a loss lol This will really help our family😊
I love these recipes!!
You can cook potatoes in under 20 minutes?! Oh my lord I need this.
What if my instant cooker doesn't have pressure cooking option?
Please let me know!
Thank you for your recipes! Happy times ahead! 💕🎶🍀
Use manual button instead
@@kaslyn2007 Thank you! Managing somehow. I do have a pressure cooker but I was determined to make the most of the instant one .. 🌞💕🎶
Cheers!
I'd love to see mre complete meals. I feel like veggies are so quick to cook that I wouldn't bother using an instant pot.
For pot in pot cooking I see 'anything marked as oven-safe' but does this include the disposable aluminum foil pans as well? I dont want to buy a cheesecake pan if I dont like it so want to test it in an aluminum pan first before investing.
Awesome
Can you PLEASE get the IP blender and do a review for us?! I'm looking to get a new blender (my nurtibullet extractor started leaking :/ I tend to over fill...) and I can't decide between a ninja or this one!
