It was epic. She’s only gotten more control & more maturity in her voice since then. She’s one of a kind definitely. In a class all by herself! I thought nobody but me remembered that moment with Natural Woman Idol #1. Wow. So glad I'm not alone. Her first Christmas special she whistled through the roof to Oh Holy Night and nobody has been able to repeat that not since.... Not even her in later recordings she's done of that same song has she whistled so high. That edge tricks our ears into thinking she’s using more chest voice than she actually is, and it’s masterful AF 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 There are some older clips here obviously, so I think that what’s people are knocking…which is stupid. Comparing those to what’s she doing now is dumb because she doesn’t sound the same as she did 10 years ago, and in her case it’s a good thing! She was never bad, but like a smart singer and musician, she took it upon herself to improve and she’s only gotten better and is one of the most consistent singers in the industry now 🎤

Kelly Clarkson can belt it like no other and she can hit the high notes like a whistle but it’s clarity it’s not squeaky she can hold a note like no other. She’s in a class all her own She’s been my favorite. She’s a beautiful woman inside and out when she sings she doesn’t make any effort. She’s just a raw talent.
Much in singing is about technic, but also if a voice, especially the females, is pleasing. There are so many (often unknown) female singers who can fulfill the technical skills of high notes singing, but only a few please with their voice. Kelly is one of those. Better with age. ❤

Have you heard of a singer called Floor Jansen? She is also a really good belter. I definitely recommend checking something frkm her. She has made a cover of Lady Gaga's Shallow for example. And her Heart's Alone cover is excellent too.
The first time I heard Kelly was her audition on American Idol. I told everyone she would win and she would be the best singer they'd discover. Nothing taken from any of these singers but Kelly just knows how to do a song better though I do love Adele. Belting is insignificant compared to just instinctively singing like Kelly does. She is one of the greatest, period.
Kelly is amazing. Her voice is so distinct. Has so much character. Mariah was the only one who was clearly better than her, when you measure all the different ways she excels. So many different emotions. Never a bland performance. Never just a showcase of range or power. There’s always something being said, even in the happy songs. What a gem.
Helene Fischer should be included in this. Listen to her “Time to Say Goodbye” and “Merci Cheri”, “Caruso”, and any of the duets she sings with Andrea Bocelli.

Have you heard of a singer called Floor Jansen? She is also a really good belter. I definitely recommend checking something frkm her. She has made a cover of Lady Gaga's Shallow for example.
And her Heart's Alone cover is excellent too.
The first time I heard Kelly was her audition on American Idol. I told everyone she would win and she would be the best singer they'd discover. Nothing taken from any of these singers but Kelly just knows how to do a song better though I do love Adele. Belting is insignificant compared to just instinctively singing like Kelly does. She is one of the greatest, period.

Kelly is amazing. Her voice is so distinct. Has so much character. Mariah was the only one who was clearly better than her, when you measure all the different ways she excels. So many different emotions. Never a bland performance. Never just a showcase of range or power. There’s always something being said, even in the happy songs. What a gem.

Yes, she can hit those high notes with ease but comparing them just by hitting those high notes and not their distinctive voice, the texture and everything that comes with it is just crazy.
IMO Kelly Clarkson has them all beat for strength, sound, delivery and consistency. She makes it look easy and some of them were really struggling it appeared.
