- My thoughts on some next gen jeans I've been using and some I just picked up. Prior to owning these 5.11s and the Vertx ones, I hated jeans. These definitely converted me and made me more stylish in the process! These are some of my favorite Jeans for concealed carry, everyday carry and just general purpose. I go with 5.11 for Pants and Vertx for Jeans.
The Vertx Defiance Jeans are very light and stretchy. My only complaint is that the zip in front is too short for men. Very difficult to pee standing.
The 5.11 Flex Defender Jeans seem better looking, yet the pockets are not as deep and low as Vertx Defiance Jeans.
i think vertex defiance jeans with levis 512 fit would be the best pant ever

Thanks for the comparison. Been wearing the 511s. As summer comes around I’ve noticed they wear i bit warm. How much cooler are the Vertxs’ ?
I'd say a pretty noticeable difference, I just ordered another pair of blue one from Vertx to try more in the summer months. Overall they have felt cooler to me with a lot less sweat build up in my opinion.

The 5.11 are still awesome. The Vertx are holding up great as well. I prefer the 5.11 fit being thinner though. Can’t go wrong with either

Personally don’t care too much for the “AR mag” pockets that make their way into every pair of tactical pant. I much prefer a hidden cargo pocket, or two.
I agree with your approach, tell me, did you manage to find such a model?
@@user-tm6ve2bu5p there are some condor pants that have one on the right leg, but it’s not the best quality cargo pocket and it’s kind of small. The Vertx Delta Stretch pants have a really nice zipper I put my wallet in the only problem it it’s on the wrong side. I’d prefer on my left side because I already keep too much stuff on the right

I don't think I bought them during a special sale or anything. I did buy the 5.11s at a physical retail store, and the Vertx on Amazon.

Do you have to go up a waist size with the vertx for ccw?
I wear 34s normally but ended up getting 36s for carry, seems to be perfect for an appendix carry g19 with a spare mag and tq.
So, its been almost a year what are your thoughts on the Vertx?
Definitely prefer them for the hot weather more, over all I like the functionality and the added little pockets a whole lot. They have held up well over time and don't seem to have any material or stitching issues that I can tell. All in all, I still highly recommend them, my only real complaint is that I can't seem to find the right color/size/price combo in stock regularly.

Do wish vertx fitted like the 5.11 in NY opinion 5.11 looks better but not as functional as vertx
