It took me 10 years to find out there was a lure upgrade in the Mystic Ruins forest. For 10 years I only had 129 emblems, as I managed to clear all of Big's missions without the ultimate lure upgrade except for the third mission of Twinkle Park. And 10 years later I still get lost in that damn forest ! *DAMN YOU, MYSTIC RUINS FOREST !*
The moment I realized there was a full map of the forest you could access from the pause menu after countless hours of getting lost, I literally cried of frustration and joy.
@@spencerbowden2979 The idea was to break up the action. In execution most people just play straight through each character separately so you just end up having to do some fishing levels. The Chao Garden was made for the same reason.

After getting Froggy out of Twinkle Park, Froggy somehow hops all the way to the mystic ruins and to the Ice Cap....Strange. But maybe it's because of story direction. Big was probably at the Ice Cap before Sonic and Tails arrived there for a Chaos Emerald just searching wherever there was water. Then Froggy hops away right back to the city....-.- Okay, you have a point. Emerald Coast being the 3rd stage for Big while only the 2nd stage for E-102r would mean E-102r got there before Big the Cat (Seeing how slow Big is, Not surprised) As soon as Big fishes out Froggy again, Froggy gets away...Again. Well. This time E-102r snatches it away from Big but this is where his story kind of connects to the others due to Froggy having swallowed both Chaos and a Chaos Emerald-Which is all Eggman was after- To free Chaos from the Frog. Froggy somehow got away from Dr. Eggman and ended up in the Hot Shelter. It's Big's last stage so he probably got here long after Amy left it because it was already filled with water. When Big meets with Chaos 6, Sonic is there. I think I forgot the part where after the Ice Cap, It was night time--Right around the time where after the Sky Chase event was so he ran into Tails. I think Knuckles only connects to Big's story in the prologue of things. The only pointless part of Big's story was probably him going into the past 8,000 years ago for the sake of a piece of story from Tikal. Not all that interesting...And don't ask how Big knows how to drive the Tornado 2. It will only raise more questions. That last part of Big's Story though connects with the Super Sonic Story since there is a Chaos Emerald in the Tornado 2. But I think that's how Big's story aligns with the others. He doesn't interact with Amy at all except if you decide to talk to her in the City though at around that time she was probably either being chased by Zero or about to go grocery shopping before the Egg Carrier flies by.
When you're trapped forever in a giant Master Emerald for centuries and no one can hear you scream, you'll probably do anything just to be able to finally talk to someone besides a Chaos liquid monster
Nothing in the game ever hints about giving the Hedgehog Hammer game another go for a secret reward so it's understandable to not be aware of its existence until you looked it up.

Aww... I was hoping I missed one big secret one as a kid. Knuckles' Golden Gloves were the most secret thing I felt I found. The lure in the jungle is a satisfying find too. Remember, we didn't have TH-cam when we had Dreamcast. So finding the Long Hammer and Gloves were cool as hell. At best you had "cheat" sites.
I forget that Tikal was the spirit that tells you how the upgrades work. Sonic and his friends dont think its weird some spirit is explaining things for them.

3:20 I love that she specifically says "it's __your__ jet anklet!" Meaning despite finding it in some random building, this is one of Tails' own inventions. Apart from the Miles Electric, it's hard to name any gadgets he's made in the past 20 years worth of games, but between Adventure, Adventure 2, and Tails Adventure, he was basically Batman and Lucius Fox rolled up into one.

Why didn't any of them keep the Adventure and Adventure 2 Power ups/clothes and such and on that matter why did Sonic only keep that ring braclet he got from Chip/Gaia only at the end of unleashed and why isn't he wearing it anymore?
In terms of secret upgrades, the mandatory ones don't really count. Sonic is his bracelet that reduces his charge time. Tails is his boosters on his feet that let him fly faster. Knuckles is his yellow gloves. Amy is her longer hammer. Big is his lures. And Gamma is his gun.
Big's lures are mandatory. You need them for the B and A missions as well as some Mission Mode missions since you have to catch bigger fish in said missions and the big fish will completely ignore the lure without the upgrades. Also I believe Tails's Jet Anklet is mandatory for the A missions since Sonic and Eggman are much faster.
@@robonaught in terms of beating the story of the game, they are not required. They just make the game a little easier. There are some people out there who beat Tails' story without the anklet because it wasn't required. I'm one of them. I didn't find the thing until I went exploring with Tails AFTER the credits rolled.

@Yukicross121 that's strange since tikal isn't there unless you get the feather i was wandering around there for while when i was younger and went by the place of the cutscene a lot not knowing what to do and then i realized the feather and was able to leave

Just how many persons forgot or are simply unaware that each level has 3 missions, with the first one being the story mission?
Sonic- I got everything
Tails- the ankle boasters were so stupid
Knuckles- I never found the knuckles attack
Amy- I never found the bigger hammer
Big- found it all
E102- I don’t think I ever found that blaster

Why didn't any of them keep the Adventure and Adventure 2 Power ups/clothes and such and on that matter why did Sonic only keep that ring braclet he got from Chip/Gaia only at the end of unleashed and why isn't he wearing it anymore?
I think they took them off after learning the moves by memory. They still have the stuff just not on them

Just came here for nostalgia.
In terms of secret upgrades, the mandatory ones don't really count.
Sonic is his bracelet that reduces his charge time.
Tails is his boosters on his feet that let him fly faster.
Knuckles is his yellow gloves.
Amy is her longer hammer.
Big is his lures.
And Gamma is his gun.
Big's lures are mandatory. You need them for the B and A missions as well as some Mission Mode missions since you have to catch bigger fish in said missions and the big fish will completely ignore the lure without the upgrades.
Also I believe Tails's Jet Anklet is mandatory for the A missions since Sonic and Eggman are much faster.
@@robonaught in terms of beating the story of the game, they are not required. They just make the game a little easier. There are some people out there who beat Tails' story without the anklet because it wasn't required.
I'm one of them. I didn't find the thing until I went exploring with Tails AFTER the credits rolled.
