    Mike didn't throw the guns away. He kept them in the garbage bin because he knew 'trevor' would be on the ground for a while and he didn't want people to see him lying there and surrounded by 10 guns. Mikes expects 'trevor' to fish those guns out of the trash once he's fine

      I never hated Hamlin because I see nothing wrong with wanting to be professional but it is an awsome twist to realize that he is actually a great team player taking all the hate to help a partner with a personal matter. He went from character I dont mind to character I really like and respect.

      The reason Jimmy even got into the case was because he saw old people being taken advantage of, and asked his brother for help who ended up backstabbing him anyways. If instead, he would have been offered a job and won the Sandpiper case while being able to see all the people he helped, along with feeling like he has a loving brother and support system like Kim around him 24/7, I find it much more unlikely that in those circumstances he would become Saul.

Even at the end of season 3 when he tries to let Chuck retire with all glamour and asks his employee to find a nice retirement party place before opening the letter just to see that Chuck is freakin suing him. WTF. Still the man agrees to cash Chuck out with his own personal funds and loans. And if all this wasn't enough, he's now got to live with the burden thinking Chuck killed himself because of him. This was such a good episode. The B story with Mike was great because it showed what a badass he is and that even as a criminal he still has a moral code.
    The A story with Jimmy was great because it was so revelatory. We found out that Howard isn't as big of an asshole as we thought, he's just been Chuck's hatchet man all these years. Plus we learned what an asshole Chuck has been to Jimmy. Yes Jimmy has a troubled past and he's far from the most honest man you're going to meet. But Jimmy was really trying to be a better person for Chuck. Hell, he became a lawyer just so he could be more like Chuck and win his approval. That's not even taking into account everything Jimmy did for Chuck all this time in taking care of him. But Chuck would never see Jimmy as anything other than Slipping Jimmy and even worse would never allow him to be anything else. That's a true fucking betrayal no matter what Chuck's reasons are. And this begins Jimmy's real descent into what will eventually be Saul Goodman.

    Back when I first saw this episode, I remember feeling like Chuck regretted his words. Just with the way he chased after Jimmy.
    I feel like maybe the writers intended for Chuck to maybe have a soft spot for his little bro.
    And maybe back then... he did on some level. But as the series goes on, his hate for Jimmy just grows.
    Micki was right about something. He was jealous.
    And I'm glad the group doesn't immediately dismiss Chuck as some evil guy (not yet). He did work hard and it DOES suck that his own mind has turned against him.
    It's revealed in season four that Chuck graduated high school at the age of 14. That's CRAZY! Think of all that pressure that puts on a kid. And yet, he never felt like he was enough.

    I think people give Saul a lot of passes because he's likeabable or because his heart is in the right place. Chuck has about 30 years history telling him Saul is someone that likes to cut corners and trick the system when he wants something bad enough. For someone like Chuck that loves the law and doesnt see it as a game that isnt the kind of person you want to be lawyer or work with. And also not so long ago Saul proved he didnt change with the banner trick. Chuck isnt some asshole giving Saul a hard time. He's someone that has lived with his brother long enough to know the person he is.

      But Jimmy was trying so hard to change throughout all of season 1. He had that slip up in the beginning with the skateboarders but after that he was trying incredibly hard to be on the up and up. Also the only reason he tried that scam with the skateboarders was because he desperately needed the money for him and Chuck. Season 1 Jimmy is trying to be a good person, but at every opportunity Chuck sabotages him because of his past. Had Chuck let Jimmy join HHM, he probably still would’ve cut corners here or there, but he never would’ve become Saul. Chuck created his own monster.

    Jimmy is a good bad guy, Chuck is a bad good guy. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. The new Jimmy is always doing bad things for a good reason while Chuck (we find out), often does the right things for the wrong reasons.

    Chuck was right he saw what Jimmy was becoming, just imagine if saul has the same amount of power as howard in breaking bad series, W.White would have been untouchable, as a drama they always show it from the perspective of main actor and all people whom are against him, who might've been doing something morally right on their part are seen as villians, in the end chuck was right about Jimmy, but he was wrong when he said people dont change

    I feel like Mickey is missing the point of the Chuck/Jimmy relationship. It's a nature vs nurture concept. Is it in Jimmy's nature to work in the morally gray areas? Yes.
    Did he look up to and love his brother A Lot? Yes.
    So could have actual positive reinforcement from Chuck kept Jimmy on a better path? There's a good chance, yes. We all know that's not how it goes. But I like how they show Jimmy actually had a good heart through this. *So it could have....*

    Chuck knows who Jimmy is. Even the way jimmy started investigating this case was... questionable. But i think he could've show Jimmy the legal way to do the right thing, show him it'll pay off, work as a team legally, instead of hindered him right away.

    It's funny how everyone forgets Jimmy is not a good person. Chuck is one hundred percent right, Jimmy with a law degree is a dangerous person. But we love Jimmy as a character and really don't have a connection with Chuck yet.

      so you fall on the side on nature over nurture. There is no telling how different things would have been had Jimmy had a brother who gave him the positive reinforcement he horribly craved rather than undercut him at every turn and make his desperate. People can change

    • @shamidkpzd
      @shamidkpzd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. I mean wasn't he just trying to scam the Kettleman's into giving him business in the second episode? And then the whole ad stunt he pulled among other things. These were all recent, not even things from Jimmy's distant past. Like Jimmy is likeable and entertaining and the show has you rooting for him. But in the end, I wouldn't want to hire him for my firm either. A person willing to do the unethical and questionable things he does to get what he wants is not the person you want working at your law firm.Can you imagine the lawsuits? Tank the whole reputation of your business, no thanks.

    Chuck hates Jimmy because Jimmy is unethical, not because he doesn't work hard. Everybody acknowledges he works hard.

    • @jonathanjoestarwithpluck4930
      @jonathanjoestarwithpluck4930 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      If you’ve seen the later season you know that Chuck hates Jimmy because he was always the funny, sociable one that people loved, whether it was their parents or Chucks wife. People loved Jimmy more than Chuck, even though Chuck was a far more moral guy who followed the rules, and he couldn’t stand that. That resentment is also a driving force in their relationship. That’s the irony of it, Jimmy does the wrong things for the right reasons, but Chuck does the right things for the wrong reasons.
