Absolutely mind blowing Rohan!Wonderful treat to our eyes to witness traveling to unknown places and making new friends and beautiful memories. As the documentary was ending you made us all realize what a miraculous gift our Life is. So proud of you my friend!😊
Good to see you my friend! What an amazing experience and video. It brought me great memories from the MontBlanc trip, where we met in 2020. Keep the magic going! Best wishes from Brazil! 🤟
My broo so nice to hear from you! Yes that trip holds such special memories. I was actually talking about the crazy day in the freezing rain we had together over dinner with my family just yesterday, and about how going through tough times together creates a bond haha :) such good memories to look back on. Hope all is well at your end and I hope our paths cross again somewhere in the world!
what a beautifull documentary my bro 🤩 videos, music, story... thanks for sharing all of this and bring me back so much good memories, hope to see you again on the roads !
I love your documentary. You are quite skillful in the way you put together so many beautiful short scenes - amazing long shots from your drone - shots moving along roads - camping sites - dinner with couch-surfing hosts - all so inspiring and fun - so artfully put together with a really good flow. Great job! I've shared it with lots of friends and will watch it again with my girlfriend this evening. You are good company and it was rewarding spending time with you as you traversed Europe.
Thank you so much for those really kind words! I think it partly also helped that I was in places where I couldn't really take a bad picture so that kind of covered up my inadequacies and inexperience with this haha :) I hope you have a great time watching it with your girlfriend too! 🙃
That was so good! I felt like I was there with you at times, and yet still felt like I wanted to go see it for myself too. I hope you have many more adventures ahead of you, and much joy all around. Thanks for all the work that went into this beautiful documentary.
great sights, great views, great recording and great cuts, great choice of a soundtrack. wished you had much more footage of your incredible trip. i'd like to watch each section of your trip as a full video
Brilliant video, amazing trip. Thank you for your account of your trip. Good luck on future adventures. I am follwing a similar route from Portugal along The European Divide trail next year, but I will finish in the UK, this time!
I watched your video because I'm planning to do a few bikepacking trips in Spain. I like it a lot! I've been to Tossa two times and it was so good seeing that place especially recognising the hostel in your video, and also the whole area again. Cheers!
It's really nice to see how you just try to be simple in the whole journey and pushed your limits and went out of comfort zone to do things. Truely amazing da, don't stop with this😉.
incredible footage, great documentary and most importantly incredible effort in completing such a journey. truly inspiring, can't wait to ride with you again. ✌🏾
Ahhh I will start will watching it now but I know it will be fantastic! Thanks in advance for putting this adventure out there. Soooo cool that you did this and a little bit sip we were not able to meet in Oslo but yeah that weather was crazy up there I heard and saw :)
Hi, your journey is amazing. I am planning to embark on a bikepacking trip in June this year from Norway to Spain. I have a few questions. Can you please answer them? Which Eurovelo route did you take? How many days did it take for you to complete 1000km? I'm not comfortable staying in a tent. Can I find a hotel, hostel, or Airbnb in every city along the way? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Heyy no haha. I initially started off that way so I could just grab my valuable items and put them inside when I stopped at a city or something but soon realised it definitely wasn't worth the couple of mins saved 🙈 so it got shifted to the back and it was sooo much nicer to ride that way haha :)
On my two 4,100 mile trips I had my 3 lb Pentax K10D and soft case hanging around my neck and shoulder the whole time. Just was no other way. When it rained, it was under my cape. I did get it to balance on my back most of the time when there were longer times between pics. It's battery lasts weeks taking pics. Doesn't die in a whole year when not being used. LOL. Unlike my phone that dies on ONE day's ride taking 20 pics, even in airplane mode.
Wonderful video of your adventure. Bike questions. Did you have any problems with your bike on your travels and which bike did you decide on for the journey?
Thank you! Sorry about the late reply, but no major issues with the bike except that I had to replace the disc of the brakes once. Nothing much besides that fortunately! It was the Giant Roughroad and it was great for the offroad sections! :)
Hmm I don't think there's a clear answer but if you're looking for something new and affordable I think Decathlon has some good options! But having said that, I got my bike second hand (on marketplace) in very good condition for 500 euros when the new price was 1650 so there are great deals if you keep an eye out as well. The bike I used is called the Giant Toughroad, and it's not the fastest but is very sturdy (almost a cross between a mountain bike and touring bike). It was perfect for me and I wanted to go off-road quite a bit as well so it also depends on the kinds of routes you want to use it for.
What did you use for route finding, map, navigation? Also, how much did you end up spending? I’m planning a similar rtw trip from west coast of California
I primarily used Komoot, it was great. Just make sure to download the sections in advance for regions where there is no internet connectivity. And in terms of expenditure, it worked out to approximated 780 to 800 euros per month (I was primarily wild camping and I had only a minor issue with my bicycle which needed fixing) so I was maybe lucky with those things! Good luck with your trip by the way! :)

Thanks for this Documentary, nice trip! Who made this beautiful Paper map btw?
My clothes and gear were primarily from Decathlon (so a mix of brands you get there), and my rain jacket was Patagonia, and it worked very well for most parts except in very very heavy rains. And the bike bags were Ortlieb, which was also very good!
Heyyy! So this depends on the place quite a bit. When I'm in very isolated places I usually just leave my bike tied to a tree and my belongings inside my tent and hike with just my valuable items (laptop, other electronic items etc.) and get back end of the day and it was totally fine. But in places where I felt there might be a problem I usually planned it such that I was either couchsurfing or was at a friend's place (since I had many friends in the Alps for instance). Another option is also to stay at a campsite do you know your belongings are safe. I did that when I hiked up the Galdhoppigen, and the campsite was very cheap for Norwegian standards, an equivalent of 10 euros a night so that's also a good option :)
Including the 2 weeks with my family it was about 2 and a half months. But a lot of that also included quite some hiking. In terms of just cycling, it was 40 days :)
I hope to do a similar trip in the future but with much lighter gear after I finish university 😅 I'm also curious if you got accepted for the PhD, if so what is the PhD in and where are you studying? Best of luck
You definitely should go for it, very excited for you! :) And yes it's definitely possible with much less gear, I guess everyone just needs to figure out what works best for them! The PhD was on analysing and mapping urban heat stress in four Israeli cities, but due to the really unfortunate circumstances there that isn't happening ofcourse. So I'm currently working in India but have a couple of opportunities staring in early 2024 so have some decisions to make soon! Let's see which part of the world life takes me to next haha :)
Yea it was a lot. I did have interviews along the way so I was traveling with my laptop, had quite some electronics to document the trip, and my sleeping bag was huge. And besides that I was carrying food for quite a few days when I was in the mountains as I didn't have access to any shops for 5 or 6 days sometimes, and warm clothes since the temperatures sometimes went down to about -5 degrees Celsius. But I definitely felt way better when the backpack was shifted to the bike. After that it wasn't a problem at all to be honest :)
Amazing…get rid of big rucksack! Where next? xx
Roro, we love you. Such a good piece of work. This should be played at film festivals.
Thank you for sharing your great adventure - inspiring 🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️

Please tell me you didn't carry that large backpack on your back the whole trip?

Best bike for beginners? Something a bit more affordable? I want to start biking locally and between states

Who made this beautiful Paper map btw?
I made the map, being a Landscape Architect helped with that along with a bunch of TH-cam tutorials on how to animate it on PremierePro haha :)
What dry clothes did you use and the brand?
My clothes and gear were primarily from Decathlon (so a mix of brands you get there), and my rain jacket was Patagonia, and it worked very well for most parts except in very very heavy rains. And the bike bags were Ortlieb, which was also very good!

Love from India brother 🫶🏻❤️
Crikey, a full set of panniers AND a big heavy backpack .......... you certainly don't travel light! Must have been torture riding your bike.
