      Not yet, but I’m hoping to do a deep water jigging trip and maybe another full day. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a boat of my own this year so I will prob be using that most weekends!

    I fished Yankee for voter 50 years ! Lot of good times ! I live in Florida now . Fishing is a whole different thing ! One thing I do like down here is they ice the fish you catch ! Wish they did that up north ! They put the fish on a stringer in a box with ice and give you a number of the stringer . Fish that have been sitting in a burlap bag on the deck in 80 or 90 degree heat turn to mush very quickly ! The over night Trip I went on with Yankee they did put them in a box of ice !

    Our saltwater season is wrapping up here in RI. Even though the tog, cod, and black sea bass bites have been red hot this fall. Earlier this year, I went out for haddock on the Wicked Tuna boat Dot Com. Last year, I went out for haddock on the Capt John boats out of Plymouth. I've never been on the Yankee Fleet, but would like to, maybe next year. I've done pretty good both times. Caught a dozen keepers, some throwback cod (which is closed most of the year in MA waters), redfish, silver hake, and even whiting.

      That’s awesome that you went on DotCom! I didn’t know they did charters for haddock. On the trips I did this year, the haddock fishing wasn’t great at George’s bank, but the cod was a little better. I had a trip scheduled to go tog fishing this winter in RI, but I ended up having to cancel. Definitely looking forward to the tog fishing next year. Thanks for watching!

      @@DiPietroAngling The Wicked Tuna boats run haddock charters April through mid-June until their commercial tuna season starts, then they run tuna charters in September and October.

    Can you throw top water poppers out there?

    • @DiPietroAngling
      @DiPietroAngling  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I probably wouldn’t on this trip, because this boat packs people in very close together and they have rules about what you can use for tackle. I wasn’t allowed to use a high low rig on this trip because they have a one hook maximum (which I really don’t like). Thanks for watching!

      It’s definitely nice not freezing on the offshore trips! Tight lines!

    I went out on the Yankee Fleet eons ago with my late nephew and late father. when we got out of the harbor the swells were huge! Someone was cooking eggs in there and the smell of that had me hitting the rails almost immediately lol. When we got to the fishing area I grabbed a pole and rubber legged n all started fishing. I tell ya within like 15 minutes I was ok. Of all the people on the boat I think maybe 7 of us actually fished everyone else was too sick. Their mistake was not to fish somehow the motion of the boat was easy to deal with a line in the water. I caught 2 cod and a pollock.

      Yes, I booked the last one in October for this year. Not sure how the weather will be but hopefully we will go out. I’ve seen videos of these trips and they look like a blast!
