I don’t want to share anything with them because it feels like they have been using that against me. I don’t feel comfortable sharing anything

Experiencing this now. My boss will ask about my personal life then try to throw it in my face conversation.

Yeah, right. Micromanagers don’t want to hear any of your preferences. You have to adapt to only their preferences. There are no options. As a person who was supervised by many micromanagers, I have to adapt to their rigid styles. There’s no discussion.

How do you deal with frantic managers who always need a quick response and don't have a filter? They're always all over the place and it makes it hard to focus.

That sounds like a struggle! Boundaries and clear communication would be key here. You can check out my article for more helpful tips! www.scienceofpeople.com/micromanager/

Sounds like a new manager. Personally I'm on the edge of a promotion and I find myself frantic. It's something I know I have to work on. I'm sure your boss knows too but is terrified of failure or starting off on the wrong foot to their superiors.
Show them you can be trusted, have their back, and depend on you; they will calm down.

@@MikaKapuscinski Not new at all unfortunately. They just have an anxious leadership style paired with very unclear communication. Attempts to insert clarity don't help because they later change their mind.

Wish I’d seen your video about 5 months ago. Too bad I’ve reached my limits.
