Luke, just to let you know, this video was shot on a windswept beach in wintertime in Japan. The behind-the-scenes sub-documentary of the shoot revealed how brutally cold it was that day. The Maids still performed in their skimpy maid outfits, but they had to huddle in full length insulated coats between shoots. All of the members of Band-Maid are so professional. They are troopers who believe the motto "Whatever it takes" to get their music to their fans and the rest of the world. We Maidiacs understand how amazing the five young Japanese female musicians truly are!
Yeah! That shot of them having High-Tea on the beach in the freezing cold, looking so hot. May the Gods bless their little cotton socks. True soldiers of Rock.
The Non-Fiction Days was my favorite song when i first discovered Band-Maid ! The Maids used this as the closing song but they hardly play it anymore ! Akane the Drummer best performances are "Blooming" MV , "Dice' MV and Freedom Official Live ! Thanks
It was so cold during the shoot the Maids wore heavy coats in between takes. Akane & Kanami stood so close to the heaters that their coats caught alight.🔥
The Non Fiction Days English translation.... The broken clocks, which way are they at? You know it’s my choice Either way it was dark anyway By only borrowing Someone’s judgement criteria I can differentiate which is good or evil When I get lonely, I begin to doubt, Whether I exist or not That’s the heavy non-fiction days This lying habit of mine I can’t vomit it out, the poison is spreading The befittingly tough non-fiction days I can’t say they’re useful, ah I can’t smile The non-fiction days, don’t tell me they’re all fabricated Even within this room Don’t fight myself, oh.. Like being archived, my heart is being dyed Word cuts more than swords Just gently recite the words To put it simply, it’s plainly suffering the consequences Common sense, do you know of it? I’m just fine here outside, when it’s finished, Maybe I can see what it looks from inside That’s the heavy non-fiction days Avoiding eye-contact It’s like pretending to be a real imposter After all, in the non-fiction days I’m just acting it all out with a monologue to myself No matter how transparent the non-fiction days exist They’re nearer than it was yesterday Don’t fight myself Give me, give me, give my name Call me, call me, love me Give me, give me, give my name Call me, call me, oh yeah.. These two hands of mine are the only ones left After I abandoned everything I can’t bear all the non-fiction days This lying habit of mine I can’t vomit it out, the poison is spreading The befittingly tough non-fiction days any more… I can see everything Heavy non-fiction days Avoiding eye-contact It’s like pretending to be a real imposter After all, the non-fiction days I’m just acting it all out with a monologue to myself No matter how transparent the non-fiction days exist They’re nearer than it was yesterday Don’t fight myself, oh.. Don’t fight myself
good reaction and comments. this song was not written by Band-Maid but it is one of my favorite songs. I used to always say Do the live but reality is I think it's better to hear the studio version first, which makes you appreciate the changes and nuances plus crowd participation in the lives even more. cheers
Really good reaction. Nice to hear someone that really dive into many different aspects of a song. This is a cool music video and a great song. They have done so many different songs. Their official live videos is almost always the best waus to listen and see them. They often add so much more to their songs live. But sometimes it is very nice to view their music videos too. And ecpecially fpr the songs that doesnt have any official live versions. Some suggestions for live recordings: Morratorium, Sayonakidori, Freedom, Manners/Black, Onset Music videos: From Now On, Rinne, Blooming and Influencer.
Great reaction yet again. It takes a while to get your Band-Maid ears tuned and ready for the layering of the instruments in the arrangements. Miku (Red Rose- backing vocals) had previous experience in a female Jpop idol trio before forming Band-Maid. Saiki (Blue rose- Lead vocals) had previous experience as a back up singer and dancer for other singers. Their characters were total opposites when the first met- Miku outgoing, Saiki- more reserved. But singing wise they are the perfect match and have come together socially more and more over the years.
Love the pauses and comments 👍🏽 and thanks for the kind mention. I’m glad you didn’t have captions on because it forces you to rely solely upon music and melody. I recommend this one a lot as early Maid rock example. There’s a recipe here that influences their music headed forward. Filtered/Deceptive/lo-fi openings. The second verse variation. The dynamic downshift/interlude. A bass feature (missing here) handoff to guitar feature. Oftentimes a mirrored (here) or deceptive outro or ending. All that doesn’t matter if the song sucks. Lucky for us, the Maids don’t often miss the mark. I haven’t heard anything as interesting to listen to since TOOL. Their songwriting recipe is the perfect base for the vocals…or as you might eventually discover…perfect just as written as an instrumental track. Band Maid has 4 instrumental songs. Please keep your eyes open for that. Keep up the good work! Band Maid 🔥 🤘🏽
The Non-Fiction Days use to be their go-to closer. When the song ended, the Maids would give Miku her few seconds to say goodbye, bow, and then all quickly walk off stage. The crowd felt like they'd been run over by a speeding freight train of awesomeness. It all felt so good and the fans wanted more! But they were leaving... until next time! Thx, RMWP!
For your next Band-Maid songs I would suggest "Thrill" the first mv from these ladies and/or "Alone", the first song their label allowed onto a album written and arranged by Band-Maid. It's not fiction, these ladies are awesome!
Classic BAND-MAID!!! A few clues that you are watching an early video: tiny-hat on Akane (drummer), MISA with a 4 string bass, and short-skirt Kanami (lead guitarist)
if you think thats fast......let me tell you...Im a drummer....and it's really fast.....trying to play along to most Band Maid songs you really gain an appreciation to Akane's drumming !!!! You just don't sit back to most of their songs !!!
That is the fun thing about Band Maid..... no verse same as the first. Their soundscape normally has Miku (red rose) in your left ear and Kanami in the right. The harmonies are special because Miku was the original lead vocalist, but after they played their first couple of shows, she realized they needed a more powerful voice. That's when Saiki (blue rose) joined the group. Miku, being the founder of the band stepped back to secondary vocals and went out and bought her first guitar. She has been learning the guitar under the tutelage of her sensei, Kanami (lead guitar). She has evolved into a very good player and even has 2 signature Zamaitis guitar models. Where Saiki has the power, Miku has the vocal range and is also primary lyricist.

Wow!!!! That's crazy--you'd never know by watching!

Alight? Awow!
But Mincho was grateful for the steaming mocha latte you brought her.

Avoiding eye-contact
It’s like pretending to be a real imposter
After all, in the non-fiction days

After I abandoned everything
I can’t bear all the non-fiction days
This lying habit of mine
I can’t vomit it out, the poison is spreading
The befittingly tough non-fiction days any more…
I can see everything
Heavy non-fiction days
Avoiding eye-contact

Thank you so much!!!
It was filmed at Namisaki Wind Farm, Sudahama Beach, Just East of Tokyo - in the middle of winter!
Great reaction. You just keep on being yourself. Being genuine is always appreciated in my world 😊

another option that fans would love is double reaction both studio and live.
これぞhardrock、70年代が甦ります。

Really glad you can say all this as a fellow Tool fan!!

Nice!!! That's awesome.
My second favorite Band-Maid song not written by Kanami, after 'Thrill'.
For your next Band-Maid songs I would suggest "Thrill" the first mv from these ladies and/or "Alone", the first song their label allowed onto a album written and arranged by Band-Maid. It's not fiction, these ladies are awesome!
This is early Maids. Now check out FROM NOW ON. Don't say "I wasn't ready for it" as this is fair warning. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 848

And can I add as a drummer, the level of detail in Akane's drumming parts is through the roof!
