  • After my buddy and I were kicked out of the state park up the street, we drove over to Dyer cove with out Typhoons.
The main lighthouse is government owned, but not in use. The second lighthouse (can only be seen in the distance) was sold by the government and is now privately owned.
The winds were gusting to 20mph, so there was a lot of ruined, jerky footage, but the good stuff is pretty good.

Superb! Excellent editing, music and piloting. BTH- How do you like Yuneec vs DJI?

+Partok81 Thanks, man, I really do appreciate that. My goal is to make each video a little better than the one before it, and the feed back helps me know I'm on the right track.
Last year, I almost bought a Phantom Vision 2+ but decided against it because there were lots of stories about fly aways and bad customer service. I did a little research and decided on the Q500 Typhoon - great reviews and lots of positive comments about Yuneec's customer service.
It's been a little over a year, and I love my Typhoon but there's room for improvement. The aircraft itself is superb - sturdy, stable, easy to fly, and reliable. It's slow, but it's designed to be an aerial photography platform, so that's kinda part of the deal. It does have some quirks ('yaw snap' is one), but they aren't deal breakers. The camera is decent, but really should be better than it is, considering how expensive it is. Still, Overall, I'm very happy with my Typhoon and with Yuneec. So happy, in fact, that I'll be upgrading to the new Typhoon H soon.
That said, DJI seems to be getting their house in order. They've been working on the customer service problems, and their customers seem pretty happy with their products. If Yuneec hadn't come out with the Typhoon H, I would definitely have bought a Phantom 3 this year.

+DaveIn NH thank you for your honest and frank assessment of your Yuneec Q 500. I do not know what yaw-snap is exactly. Right here I am guessing that it means that it over rotates to your yaw command. I can see how that could be a hassle when you're trying to line up a shot smoothly. I know what you mean about the Q 500 camera being not as good as the quad costs. Looking at videos that people have submitted the coloring seems a little bit over saturated. But I guess this could be dealt with in post processing.
So you think you may be moving to the Yuneec Q 500 4K? I am taking a methodical approach to moving up to a premium GPS quad like yours. I've flown toy grade quads for years. To get myself a custom to a larger quad I am going to buy a Sema X8 which is about the size of the phantom. After that I plan to start with a low-cost GPS quad like the Cheerson CX-22. After I put some around with that for a while then I'm going to move up to a Yuneec or a Pro Drone Byrd.
