👍👍 @FULTON OFFICIAL - Nice comparison video so just subscribed! Gotta admit I'm shocked that underdog X-P 12 actually looks as good as it does vs 2024 in some cases. A great example is the oversaturated over-bright coloring of the ground in 2024 @2:05. Even the buildings look a bit too bright and low contrast. On such a bright sunny day I wood think shadows should be much darker and more pronounced. I'm still on 2020, until 2024 hopefully gets out of Beta, but from the many YT videos I've watched I think 2024 environmental lighting seems to be a mixed bag. I do think the once absolutely brilliant Asobo team is losing the plot in 2024 with so many bugs and bad decisions, including the unnecessary reinventing the wheel of the sim's GUI menu system, especially setting up joysticks/controllers. Regarding flight models, as a former IRL pilot, I didn't find that, overall, X-P 11 flight models (very subjective to be sure) were significantly better than 2020. In fact, in some cases X-P 11 flight models were an absolute joke. Performing some aerobatics maneuvers, like @AaronT-TX pointed out in the comments below, were completely unrealistic, and often humorous. And I used to do successful touch and goes with jet airliners in the ocean. It was hilarious. There was hardly any physics interaction (if any) between an aircraft, or even a seaplane, with water in X-P 11. I can't imagine the situation has improved much in X-P 12 since the same guy, CEO Austin Meyer, is the flight model guru. And I obviously can't comment on 2024 flight models yet, but hoping taildragger flight-ground modeling is improved a bit. Happy New Year from Thailand!😁
Oh yes, MSFS2024 is clearly superior in graphics than Xplane 12. Even thought I much prefer Xplane, in fact I bought MSFS2024 (139 eur) but when I realized that the whole "sim" is based in Azure, I asked for a refund inmediatly. I´ve flew MSFS sims since MSFS 1998 to X (then due to my old PC was unable to play 2020). Finally had a new PC able to handle 2024... but as I told, I decided to broke with MS forever. Then, tried the Xplane demo that my new PC handle perfectly, and I loved it so much that finally I bought it. So happy with it now, is just all I wanted. By the way, compared with the hugh amount of flying hours in those MSFS sims, I am really learning to fly now in Xplane... what a big difference!
Xplane with ortho4 is quite competent, but it is very time consuming. Also, the fact that you cant mix and match mesh and scenery is a bummer. There are alternatives which can downstream and process orthos as you fly but those seem to be performance hitters and they still lack the mix and match capabilities. If only xplane was able to overcome these problems, it would be just fine.
Great video with jaw dropping comparisons. Another clear example of why Flight Simulator 2024 is the best flight sim ever created even with it's current imperfections.
This really can only be stated by an average casual-gamer...it simply looks better. The other is used by NASA, professional aircraft-manufacturers and pilot-students in flying.-schools and can be FAA-certified. No comments lol.
But don't forget guys microsoft is a big company And xplane is not big like microsoft but then also xplane is great and the best is xplane physics Pilots need real experience but real physical also
MSFS looks much better, but still not sure which one to choose. Is there any performance things that I should know about as I have a relatively old computer?
I suggest starting with a good computer-preferably a gaming PC with at least an RTX 4070 Super. MSFS 2024 is the better choice since running X-Plane at ultra settings can be quite demanding. Keep in mind that MSFS 2024 currently has a few bugs, but it’s well-optimized and runs smoothly on Windows, as it’s a Microsoft product. I purchased mine from the Microsoft Store and haven’t experienced any major issues. The only lag I encounter is occasionally at large airports.
XP12 flight model still has an advantage I think but is far less prominent. FS24 has almost on par ground and flight physics now. You probably wouldn't feel a big difference between the two, if any difference at all, behind a computer screen and a joystick... XP12 still has the advantage of 20 thousands custom made 3D airports. But FS24 is going to have their own similar airport gateway to do the same thing as well... Although it's going to take some time to catch up to XP12, they probably will. Finally, do note that XP12 is still offline usable, which can be an advantage, especially for a professional use in flight schools for example... Ben Supnik, one the lead dev at Laminar Research is also working on a long overdue of the terrain rendering tech but it won't probably be shipped before XP13...
It is what it is, but the X-Plane flight model is still much more realistic, especially for Helicopters. In MSFS, they behave way too unrealistically compared to real life.
I like msfs 2024 but the scenery is not always true. In Tekapo New Zealand I see a forest where there should be a desert. In msfs 2020 it is portrayed correctly. I don't have xplane to compare it with but would be good to see.
One thing that is left out of this video is how MSFS 2024 is completely broken and unfinished. Even with a top of the line CPU and RTX 4090 MSFS 2024 is very broken and needs to be fixed, they should have never released it the way it is now, all a money grab,
I used to play Xplane 11 but since msfs2020 released it's been my main sim. I'm holding off 2024 until summer 2025. There's a lot this sim does well but it has its caveats. You should compare xplane default airports. Their layout is more accurate and consistent than msfs. Xplane particle effects are also better. Again I'm not dick riding but show the whole story
Another FS 2024 fanboy making another useless stupid video. Are you 10 yrs old. Both fs have pros and cons. Choose one and enjoy it. Both can co-exist in the market.
I actually think XPlane looks much more realistic. I could almost confuse it with actual photos of the real world. MSFS looks like a childs cartoon. (WTF have I been smoking?)
Exactly my thoughts. The airports in particular. The shaders are just … off. But it looks “pretty”. But yeah airports to me are definitely a surreal cartoon wasteland in Msfs2024.

It is what it is, but the X-Plane flight model is still much more realistic, especially for Helicopters. In MSFS, they behave way too unrealistically compared to real life.
3:55 which airfield is this?
Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport TNCS
Comparing scenery sim to sim means nothing unless you also compare them to the real world!!
I like msfs 2024 but the scenery is not always true. In Tekapo New Zealand I see a forest where there should be a desert. In msfs 2020 it is portrayed correctly. I don't have xplane to compare it with but would be good to see.
why even use XP12 without AutoOrtho
because all the settings are set to default.
One thing that is left out of this video is how MSFS 2024 is completely broken and unfinished. Even with a top of the line CPU and RTX 4090 MSFS 2024 is very broken and needs to be fixed, they should have never released it the way it is now, all a money grab,
I'm running it in VR on a 12700K and a 3090, a three year old set up. Not a single CTD yet, smooth frames.
Got you :)
i really like X-plane 12 but it appears laminar has a long long way to go
Xplane 12 is a flight-sim. Msfs 2024 is a game. But visually msfs 2024 it is best.
Both games.
someone was right that XPlane is specialized in a sim for people who want to become a pilot and MSFS is more for everyone
If Xplane would just work on the graphics Microsoft would have nothing on it.
X-plane has the lighting right and better than msfs2024 in my opinion but not the better ground and object textures.
Another FS 2024 fanboy making another useless stupid video. Are you 10 yrs old. Both fs have pros and cons. Choose one and enjoy it. Both can co-exist in the market.
🤣🤣
I actually think XPlane looks much more realistic. I could almost confuse it with actual photos of the real world. MSFS looks like a childs cartoon. (WTF have I been smoking?)
Exactly my thoughts. The airports in particular. The shaders are just … off. But it looks “pretty”. But yeah airports to me are definitely a surreal cartoon wasteland in Msfs2024.

Microsoft can't do rain, X pane close up waves look better. Mind msfs is still in beta
graphically, what Microsoft has put on the table is really impressive! but unfortunately for me it's still just a "game" unlike x-plane!
X-plane won the water on the tarmac
One thing I notice, the scenery in MSFS2024 is always tending to be barren and dry, compared to reality. Possible fake global warming psi op ?
Puddle flight sim vs MSFS 2024 😂
🤣😂
In all aspects XPLANE 12 > MSFS2024

I'm first
xplane is an outdated simulator that feels like it's from the early 2000s.
xp12 is way far superior
i m done with fs2024 cartoonish look and colors
Plane 12 tncs update
2020 wins
They need to make x-plane 13.
Why is xplane so ugly, can they make a proper looking game these days.
its costly
como vas a comparar X-CHISTE 12 con MSFS 🤣
🤣😂
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the best and X-Plane 12 is the worst and trash simulator...
OMG MSFS 2024 looks far more superior.......!!!!!!!!!!!!
