The use of game 1 characters is to make a mainly collector oriented line backwards compatible through all games in case you never had the originals. Also, it's to make money based off the nostalgia at the time. I definitely still do like them even though I do not own any of them.
I think eon’s elites are great as a collector as they all look really nice but I think they also were a contributing factor to trap team having lower sales than swap force. It was another type of character in the game with already the largest roster with cores, minis, traps, trap masters, 2 new elements. I mean you literally had 3 entirely different gill grunt figures with different stats and abilities in 1 game.
As someone who's acquired 5 EE's (Gill Grunt, Terrain, Trigger Happy, Whirlwind, and Zook) I agree they do have their ups and downs as beefy as they can be in their original games (Trap Team and Superchargers), they felt more tanky or bulky in Imaginators. While their damage was closer to what senseis and Imaginators could dish out, they still feel someone below average, in comparison. Although, they are significantly better off than their original counterparts from Spyro's Adventure, which have been rendered essentially useless in Imaginators, especially at higher difficulties such as nightmare. Their health bars are very nice for completing the mini-games in Thumpa Whumpa Islands on nightmare mode, though (Chili Run and Invasion mini-games). All in all, I typically don't use them for initial playthroughs of the games, but if I'm going for completion or nuzlock, they're great to have around.
I can see that is how players use them, as slightly over powered last resort characters :) Thanks a lot for your comment! I would love to get my hands on EE Zook, I really liked how he played in SSA.
Sorry, missed your comment for some reason. He is actually one of my favorites from SSA! I really like that almost none of his abilities, except the ground pound, slows him down. Thank you for checking out the video!
I really like the Eon's Elite figures. They look so high quality, I love the golden bases and the shiny finish. Plus, I really love how some of them have slightly different designs (for example, Boomer, Slam Bam, Ghost Roaster)
I never really thought about using EE's to offset the power imbalance in Trap Team. In Swap Force, the EE's act as basic Series 1, which means no extra health or damage. It also means no Wow-Pow. For those Skylanders without a Wow-Pow (or, with a useless one, like Zook's) that's ok with me; but for Wow-Pow's I do care about (e.g. Chop-Chop) I'm less interested in the EE version. The EE are however considered "Specials" and do increase your Skylander count in SF. I am a big fan of the significant EE reposes of my favorite SSA cores (Dino-Rang, Boomer, Ghost Roaster, Zook), but less impressed with the other minor reposes EEs (Spyro, Whirlwind, Stealth Elf). Thanks for the video!
I'll say this much, If I'm ever in a tough as nails situation that my other Skylanders can't get out of, I'm glad I always have an Elite Skylander to switch to if I need to! (Usually as a last resort) Like Spongebob said, "This looks like a job for Ol' Reliable!" The Elites are especially useful against the final bosses in Trap Team and Imaginators on Nightmare Difficulty, which I'd say are borderline impossible without the Elites! (Even then Kaos has consumed many of my Elites 1 by 1)
I can definitely see that what you described is the way many players use their Eon's Elite :) t's mainly their hit points that are much higher than many other characters.
Great video! I’ve been looking to get some elites but they are very expensive! I agree they are very bland but the nostalgia and the fact that they are iconic characters are more than enough for me to enjoy them Also i think it would be on topic if you possibly did a video on the different skylanders re releases, by “rereleases” I mean skylanders like pop fizz, eruptor, stealth elf and trigger happy getting new updated versions each game
Thanks a lot, glad you liked the video! That could definitely be an idea for the future. It's quite similar to Krypt Krushers Basically-series but I guess there is always room for more opinions on the internet :)
I have about 4 eons elite skylanders but I don't really use them as (like some people) I like to think of them as collector versions of the original characters. I normally like buying mine in MIP condition so that I could store them on my shelf but if the going gets tough I could use them as backup characters. My favourite wave of Eons Elite would have to be the 2015 wave as it gave Ghost Roaster, Dino-rang, Boomer and Voodood, skylanders that never managed to get a repose, into the limelight again though I think it was a ridiculous choice to not include the air and fire element in that same wave (leaving poor Sunburn to never have a repose). I do quite like the 2014 wave as well and I love the glossy metallic paint on all of them, but I felt activision chose the most iconic skylanders who were mainly still very playable in the later games (baring imaginators) rather than skylanders that need some improvement in the damage department (Wrecking Ball, Warnado, etc). But overall, I am personally very fond of Eons Elite.
You make a great point regarding the collecting value on Eon’s Elite. They did come with the cool podium case and a background after all. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I found it more fun to play with the original or 2and/3rd series versions. You had additional moves and or just more of a challenge. These Eon's Elite ones look nice as display pieces, and are great for children because they get to have 2400 hp and a more simple character.
I have good news and bad news. About 4 hours ago just after it was posted up, I was a sale on facebook marketplace selling 11 of the 14 total Eon's elites. I procrastinated for 3 or 4 hours wondering if it would be worth it at the $15 the seller wanted. Your video convinced me that it was worth it, so I'm going to buy them now! 😊 Bad news though... is that even though I didn’t procrastinate long, there are only 3 of the 11 left after only a couple hours after posting. I wish i had found your video or taken action sooner. I would have bought them all. Thanks to your vide
I wonder behind the development on the eons elites the devs were just messing with the old skylanders stats during development on the next game and realized they could make special edition figures out of it
I at the very least like that the figures sport upgraded move bodies. I always disliked having Dino-Rang with the upgraded boomerangs when the figure did not. So that’s pretty cool!
I think they would’ve been great if they had given them to skylanders who deserved them more, and maybe have them a new move. Superchargers had good EE choices, but didn’t even give them to all the elements, not even fire, which had Sunburn.
The eternal question about which are the most deserving original Skylanders :) I’m glad Spyro got an Eon’s Elite version but I would have loved to see Camo too. Thank you for commenting!
I am with you on one major thing. Overpowered. I know they needed to give them extra damage and all but it was over the top. To make them feel more fresh could of been wow pows or new soul gems to find. The look of them was just a awesome idea and wish there could of been more of a selection. Nothing wrong with having some original feel in the later games though.
I agree with you. It's mainly their hit points that are much higher than many other characters. For what they are though, I think they very quite well implemented.
Thanks a lot! Yes, I’m leaning towards it being a good idea too, just wanted to ask the viewers with more Skylanders experience what they thought. Glad you liked the video!
I liked the Idea though I think the selection could have been better. Sunburn defenitely deserved one, and my favourits Drill Sargeant and Drobot did not get one.
Im not interested in collecting them i like seeing if a skylander can beat a level with just that character im doing a challenge to see if all skylanders can beat the final boss is ecah game ive done ssa, and giants ive haven't done swap-force but im doing trap team on hard mode but part of the fun for me is using all of the characters attacks to dodge and weave my way though the level as well to see if a character is buffed or nerfed
Sorry for missing your comment. That sounds like a really fun challenge! In a game where the amount of figures you own equals the amount of lives you have in-game, that type of creativity is exactly what you need to toughen things up a bit :)

Why is your regular stealth elf level 5 but your eons elite Spyro level 20? I think your trying to frame the oh figures as more useless than they really are in imaginators.
Thank you for your comment. You make a good point but I assure you that it was never my intention. I never actually realized that I used an under leveled SSA core and I'm pretty certain a max leveled one would have been only slightly less useless :)
@@ComingCleanGaming thank you for being respectful. I reacently got eon’s elite chop chop and trigger happy, and they are really really strong in trap team, in trap team a lv 1 wallop has half the health of a lv 1 eon’s elite trigger happy. And that’s just the health,
Thank you for watching! What are your thoughts about Eon’s Elite? Was it a good idea or should the implementation have been different?
I think it's a cool idea, but I wish they were even more unique from their original counterparts, like maybe a new wowpow or something
Honestly I’m not a fan of reposes in general, but at least Eon’s Elite is a bit more creative than “series 2”
@@kingtoasts9485 that’s a great idea. Just a little something to spice up the moveset a bit.
@@EchoSnake999 Yes, for sure. I’m not sure they count as reposes though, they literally have the exact same pose as their original counterpart :D

Yes, Eon's Elite is almost the only way to enjoy the original characters in the later games.
