Crazy, my fold 3 screen protector was bubbling up and started getting dirty under it. After 2yrs I removed it beginning of this month in January. It does feel smoother. Let me tell you though I do take care of my phone and have a VRS Guard protector case also. It's one of the first and best case I bought so far. I dropped my phone about 20 times and the case holds its stand. I was gonna upgrade to the f5 fearing of the screen but now I'm hanging on to my f3 for a longer period. I may be back to give update periodically on the condition without the screen protector experimentation. For a precaution odd reason I do not open my phone in the cold mornings or wherever it's cold.

That is from Samsungs site. It only voids it if that is what caused the damage. If my screen breaks it may not be covered but that's $29 with Care+. Obviously an internal issue would still be covered as a screen protector wouldn't cause a battery or motherboard failure.

Yeah.. I did this with my fold 3, and it only enabled the micro particles of rock, dust, etc which get into everything, to live down the center of the fold. Tiny particles not even really noticeable in day to day use. And then what happens when it closes without that cushiony plastic covering the screen? Cracks started to form. I'm sorry but do not listen to this. The screen protector is there for a reason.

@@halfmanamazing549 The selfie camera is not good.
The video recording is good, the photos are good but not the best and my requirements are slightly higher than that. ;). Especially when you know how expensive such a fold is, well.
My biggest annoyance is the 6.2 inch screen. I'm often away from home and then I don't open that screen completely and I use that 6.2 inch screen. It's good to hold but it's too narrow for me. I bump my thumb against the side edges of the cover and I hate it.
If you use the fold open, it's a wow feeling, the multitasking is crazy good, nice screen, sound is okay, etc...
But I prefer a normal smartphone where I immediately see everything in large, don't have to open it, which is easier to take pictures, etc...
It depends from person to person, one will be 100% pro, I'm 80% for it. Of course you also have a double layer of the fold, using it with one hand is of course also a bit less fun.
I also expected better battery life.
I sometimes only got 4H30 on 4G/5G, with a bit of luck 5 hours.
But this sometimes also happened on WiFi, using the fold open, about 5:30 am, depending of course on what you do with it.
If I mainly used the front screen on WiFi, I easily got 7-8 hours, easy.
Anyway, you prefer to use the fold when you open it.
When I'm in a store, I'm not going to open that fold there, others don't have to see everything now ;). I catch myself that I often use that narrow screen and then I was annoyed by the side edges of the cover that I bumped into with my thumb.
I sold my fold5 at a heavy loss ppff. That value drops down to tell you.
I bought it for 1900 euros. A week later it is in a well-known and reliable shop at 1670 euros = wtf. I ripped my pants quite a bit. In Belgium on a 2nd hand site, nobody wanted to pay 1400 euros for it, nobody ppff. And it was still the 512GB version.
Only with amounts of 1000-1250 euros were many interested in it.
You can't lose that fold to the paving stones.

A word of caution on OFFICIAL replacements: the chance of it being as flawless as the original is slim, to none.
I went to get mine replaced due to "micro" scratches on the original Fold4 after a year. Lots of bubbles, and it separated at the crease three days later; it also had tiny dimples that looked like little commas, as if the corner of something had gouged the plastic while it was in the box.
Went back for a second; bubbles, so they replaced it on the spot, and it too had those dimples, in slightly different locations.
The third one was installed perfectly. But...dimples. Took it to a different location, and the manager straight-up told me: "I'll change it out for you, but honestly, this is probably the best replacement I've ever seen. They all get those dimples from pressure from the alignment jig in the box."
I decided to cut my losses and keep it, but the dimples bug me. And two days later, bubbling at the crease.
I should have just lived with the micro scratches, but who knew brand new official replacements would be so much worse? If it weren't for the fact that a Fold5 is on the way, I'd just yank the thing off. So, word to the wise: take care of your original.

@maxeachannel567 If I decide to return the Fold5 and keep my 4, that's what I'm going to have to do. Good to hear it's not an issue.

@maxeachannel567 Well, the THIRD protector peeled up as well, so I let Assurion have one last crack at providing a good one. The installation of the fourth looked like crap, and worse yet, they trapped a couple of specks of dirt UNDERNEATH the protector.
So the guy's telling me the protectors are peeling up because something is wrong with my hinge, even though he can't see anything wrong with it. 🙄 Then he's warning me about using the phone without the protector because of how delicate the screen is to the slightest scratch or piece of dirt. I said "Like the specks you trapped underneath?"
Anyway, he wanted to change my entire screen, so I said no thanks. I remembered a third-party protector I had purchased last summer, and figured I couldn't do worse then Assurion. Peeled off the official protector (the dust had started to dimple the screen; glad I pulled it off in time), installed mine, and it's flawless. We'll see how it holds up.
Then Samsung botched the Fold5 delivery, so I had to decline delivery, sight unseen.
Just gonna wait for the 6 at this point. 😂

I've taken the inside display screen protector off the Z Fold 3 & 4, the Z Flip 4 and the Pixel Fold. It is a better experience without the screen protector on and I've never had any issues. Not even a single hairline scratch on any of my inside displays.

Samsung really needs to fix the micro-crack issue on the crease. Every foldable I've had with them gets the cracks right around 11 months of having the phone. Brutal for an $1800 device.

@raizo476 Yes, I did. The micro-cracks aren't really cracks, but more like stretch marks along the entire crease from it opening and closing. I haven't removed the inside protector on my replacement phone yet, so we'll see if the stretch marks appear this time.
