I got my first z fold 6 yesterday. And I must say. I'm actually glad I waited until the 6 to get one. I'm very impressed with the overall size. The outside size is cool, if they increase the outside size just a bit it would be perfect. The inside screen is amazing. I give my z fold 6 a 10/10
Dude, I recommend always pulling it off diagonally not in a straight line as you are putting a lot of strain on the lower layers of the screen and you might risk damaging the screen layers.
As an apple ecosystem user, I'm very impressed & satisfied with the fold 6. I never thought I would switch to samsung, but z fold exceeded my expectations.
Me2 i switched
Even Samsung says don't remove it 😂 you just bored dude just doing stuff
It's okay as they lose the adhesive after a few months. Still work 100% and doesn't void any warranty.
I wish they make an anti reflective screen protector for inner display.
@@KINGDINGALICIOUSbro i had the worst gen of the z fold (z fold 3) and believe me, its much Better to buy another protector…
@@Shan_Shahi think they might.. i know I've seen at least seen privacy and matte ones.
@CastroJordan I wish they made an anti reflective one for people who hate the glare, plus anti reflective screen protector on a reflective screen makes it more anti reflective, it's actually better to have a more reflective screen with anti reflective screen protector. I have put the s24 ultra anti reflective screen protector on the s23 ultra, and it's actually less reflective than than the s24 ultra with the anti reflective screen protector, plus some people don't like the natural display are prefer saturated, so to have the anti reflective screen protector on that display is much better for people who prefer a natural display and for people the prefer over saturated they could get a glare screen protector.
On the main screen I wouldn't dare to do that... Didn't even notice one... Didn't impact the touch sensitivity so just left it there... Mental peace I guess...
It will bubble up eventually. Happened maybe 1.5 years into the fold 4 and happens within 6 months for some. I agree with Greg that it's nicer without it and I had no issues after removing it even using the S pen on it.
What "main screen" ? Inner screen ? How can you not notice it...
Yeah finger pints on the adhesive. Who would have thought
Feels barely different. I did that with one of the first models. Not worth it
@alphaspartan because of the crease, I simply don't understand why they can't get rid of the crease it's 6ᵗʰ get already, Chinese manufacturers have gotten rid of the crease for a while 5000+ mAh battery, 8+" inner display with a wider outer 6.5+" display. Samsung could easily give us a more similar fold and a bigger battery if they could overall increase the width of the device, which could help shave some millimeter from thickness
Greg taking one for the team like every years Fold!
Actually his wife is taking it, this is his wife's fold, his hasn't shipped yet.
I have had very little to no dust issues with my Z Fold 5 by leaving the inside screen protector on, and my screen is still after 7 months of ownership very smooth to swipe across and has no scratches.
Also, if you use a large microfiber lense cloth for cleaning eye glasses, (Available at Wal-Mart).
It's really simple and quick to keep the inside and outside screens free of fingerprints and dust.
In my opinion, you're taking a big risk of scratching the inside screen when you wipe off dust particles without the protector because that's what the inside protector is designed to protect against.
I buy my devices at the Samsung Experience Store in Houston,Texas.
The manager at the store told me that "it does void the one year free factory warranty" if you remove the inside factory installed screen protector.
The Z Fold 5 & 6 inside screen protectors are covered for a free replacement at any Samsung Experience Store in the US during the first year of ownership.
After that, the Samsung Care Plus covers free inside screen replacements at any Samsung Experience Store.
If Samsung is willing to go through all of that trouble for free, then why not leave the screen protector on? 🤔
i think it feels better this year. when i was setting up the phone it said do not remove. and thought of you straight away.
You do you ... I'm keeping mine on until it peels off by itself. It worked for me before and I'm sure it'll do the same this time.
Same, pointless peeling it off unless it's bubbling or something
Fold 4 I took it off and it was super easy. Fold 5 was a pain to take off, but a year later and still works great.
I'm not getting Fold 6 this year, I wanted a bigger phone all around. Wider and taller, I want it to be even taller than S24U.
I took it off my ZFold 4 after I got it too. Because that's what had cracked the inner screen on my ZFold 3 and after watching Greg's video I decided to do that myself too. And I had any problems it my screen since removing it too. I did just get the ZFilp 6 this time but I'm not sure if I should take the screen protector off yet or not and I'm thinking about keeping it on just for a little while though??? 🤔📱🤔📱🤔📱
@@cynthiaj.simmons870 It makes sense that the screen protector would crack the screen. Anytime you put one thing on top of another and try to bend them in half, both will behave differently and when you glue them together it will put strain one on the other because at the bend on each will have a different radius. I hope that makes sense to you.
Did u feel the phone become a little lighter when folded or unfolded after u removed it from ur Z fold 5
@@MaheshKumar-rg8hn Not at all.
I removed the fold 3 screen. Without it its prone to dents nade fingernails. I tried 3 different protectors and none of them last. The bubble up in the middle where the fold is. I even tried the dome something brand that cost an arm and a leg. If rather keep the fold 5 factory one intact.

Greg now that it's off would you kindly make a video about putting on a matte or anti reflective inner screen protector? The glare is really my main issue with the Z Fold 6 especially compared to the OnePlus Open and other Chinese foldable devices. Please help!!
I take mine off when it starts to bubble underneath
Hi Greg. Did removing the inner screen protector make the phone any little bit lighter than before? I still feel that ZF6 is heavier and will do more if it makes it lighter further.
The reason why users are advised not to remove the internal protective sticker is because when the first and second generation models were released, Many users remove the protective film, causing the internal screen to pull and cause internal damage and rupture,This also results in a pop-up message during initial setup of subsequent machines informing you that this behavior is prohibited.
It is not recommended to remove it because the film is very sticky and may cause uneven stress on the internal screen and pull it if you remove it incorrectly. This will cause damage to the internal screen, and this film can prevent the screen from being scratched
@GregglesTV I don't see the reason for taking that screen protector off. It's a free layor of protection, and I don't think it hinders the viewer experience, and you can wipe it periodically to maintain both the physical look and keep the viewing experience nice. I'd take it off only if the viewing experience is declining or badly damaged.
Well one reason is to put on an aftermarket one, they make better after market protectors that have anti glare and even privacy protectors.
@StrainXv Well, I had take mines off on the Fold2. Because that one kept coming off after like half a year. So, I did use an aftermarket screen protector. But with the Fols4 and Fold5 I just don't see a reason for it.
I took it off of my fold 3, haven't felt the need to honestly with the 4 and 5..probably gonna leave it on the 6 haha you're bold!
I took mine off on the 4 and 5. Skipping the 6 this year.

What’s up ! Greggles 😎 does Samsung still let you trade it in without a screen protector?
I dont see any reason to remove the protector. I think its called a protector for a reason.
Not sure why you're taking that off, but i'm totally happy with my.
Can you replace it with a matte protector?
He is right it doesn't do anything to the warranty. But I removed my z fold 5 protector and replaced it with a privacy one and it was the worst thing I ever did. After a couple weeks the protector starting cracking and I had to replace it like 3 times was horrible. This time I'm not touching it. Leaving the original protector on until I upgrade to the z fold 7.
I've taken mine off on fold 2,3,4, & 5 because it makes the screen smoother to swipe. However, on the Fold 5 it was less smooth after removal for some reason which is making me hesitate on my Fold 6. Is it smoother before or after on the 6? Please answer!

I can see how you'd like it better with the screen protector off, but (not having owned any of the Fold phones, yet) I think I'd leave mine on for maximum protection of that delicate and expensive-to-replace screen... Really seriously considering getting the Z Fold 6 in the next month, as I'll be making the final payment on my S22 Ultra in August and can upgrade.
I saw the pink in person and the first thing I thought to myself was "the balls on this guy for ordering the pink". Lol. Has any reputable tempered glass screen protectors came out? I want slap one on here before I get any scratches
Spigen 👍
The pink is really out there lol. Greg always goes out for the weird colors. If I loved pink, I would have gone for it. Its different. I like the pink the Flip 4 had.
It's more manly than the blue, wow.
Lol, i didn't see it had one, so I added another one on top. 😂 Still works great for me lol
I dont know why this is even needed. I put a matte screen protector over the factory one. Zero issues whatsoever, did that on my zf4 and zf5 as well. Absolutely zero need to remove the factory one.
Is there glass under the protective? Thank you
what do you use to wash the extra glue residue
You should get the whitestone utg glass screen protector for fold 6. After the whole recall of them for fold 3, they updated the thing, and now its alot better and stronger while also making the folding screen feel more like glass i had it on my fold 5 and so far its pretty neat. And also it doesn't scratch as easily.
ised mine for one whoole year with fold 5 never peeld it out now im using fold 6
My fold 4 bubbled after 8-9months. Currently, fold 5 used for 1yr 1month, just start to have bubble from middle top of inner screen.
Guess I will be peeling off mine too. Bought a hydrogen, yet to arrive, just not sure if will stick it on later after received....
Thanks the inside screen dosent need a screen protector just the outside front and black glass and after a while the inside screen protector looks like crap
Hey man, you said that's your wife's phone. Let her decide if she wants the screen protector on or off. Your pink Z Fold still hasn't arrived. 📱🤷♀️
Can I add a screen protector on top of their screen protector? I always buy ArmorSuit for all my devices?
Wondering the exact same
I came here searching for the same answer lol
and I ordered armorsuit too 😂
I'm leaving my own for protection.
I take it off it just feels better when you have that plastic piece on there it feels like it's kind of cheap feeling but when you take the screensaver off it gives you more of a better feeling with your fingers just me
I'd say their narrow outer display is what limits us from the larger battery and making the device silimar, they could slim down the device if they added 10-15mm of width on the outer display, they havent done anything since zfold 2 asides sliming down the bezel to give us 2-3mm wider display i want to see atleast 7-10mm increase in outer display next year even though I think it will be zfold 10 or 11 by the time we finally reach the tridtional smartphone aspect ratio or maybe not.
Glasses first. Also see the chi a phones. Full form factor
For my fold 3 I took the factory screen protector off and put a Whitestone Dome screen protector on it and It was smooth and didn't get much fingerprints. I keep one because I sanitize my phone a lot because of Covid still being out there taking people out.
lets hopw you dont end up noticeing scratch marks/scuffs etc
I agree.
Do your screen open all the way up? if so is it flat? Mine do not seems to open all the way.
When I had the fold 3, I left the screen protector on to protect the display. I have the fold 6 now, and I still leave it on for peace of mind
Would NEVER do that 😮😅
Does the crease look any better without it?
Well it is first durability test 😮 and it pass so it is a strong screen so after see how hard he press on the screen it will be okay to place better screen protector
Plot Twist he always buys a second one for a backup
But! This is his credibility by telling people they can do it please keep us updated.
When compared from my samsung fold 4 vs fold 6 I do noticed a slight different. My fold 4 have more sharpest and pop and my fold 6 looks for soft out. I don't know if it's the screen it's laid on. Or I might have a defected one, I'll have to compared it with another fold 6. Any body here feels the same way. 4k looks better with my fold 4 than my fold 6 in terms of brightness and vivid.
I didn't remove the screen protector from my Fold4 until it started to bubble. Doing the same for the 6.
Zero point in taking it off!
why rush though? it starts peeling off after a year
Lol come on greggles how are you gonna just do that and that's not even your device lol. You just straight jacked your wife's device lol
He probably did it on her other devices and asked her if he could do it for the channel. Let's face it he needs to get more subscribers.
True his is pink and hers is blue How rude!
I just got my z fold 6 yesterday and the main display is smooth enough for me. I usually could only stand glass screen protectors so yeah.
Took it off last night man. Hate every single screen protector in the world.
My screen is better and more protected right now😂
after less than a year, I took the screen protector off my z fold 4 a week ago when it started to peel off because I couldn't see the screen properly in the sun and at some angles, so far I have no problems
Edit/Update: almost 4 Weeks no Problem
Does it feel like glass wo the film?
Hard to watch this. I took mine off my fold but only when it was old and needed a fresh one.
hey tell me your wallpaper name just got my zf6 today no film allowed for me
My fold 2 was horrible and the screen protector would start to come up on its own, but with my fold 5 i have had for 1 year and i dont even notice it
I don't take mine off until about 3 months b4 I'm about to trade in.)
Hi. is there a factory installed protector on the outer screen as well?
Nope
I did not even see it whas on there LOL...
"You can trust Gregg. I removed the plastic protector from my first fold and used it for more than a year without any issues. This year, I am doing the same."
When Marques Brownlee did it, the whole device power down and he damaged it.
A bit heavy handed lol
Greg does it fingerprint less with screen protector off?
Can you not see the finger prints and smudge marks all over the screen after he took the protector off? It's extremely noticeable.
You can always wash your hands instead!😂
I think back to the days MKBHD...
100% warranty voided guys.
No it's not lol
No. I asked to a guy in a Samsung center
Wonder if I can do the same with my flip 5 ?
Yup
THAT'S NOT YOURS! GIVE YOUR WIFE HER PHONE BACK AND QUIT MESSING IT UP!!!😂😅😆
Not, its not warranted and if the screen messes up the won't honor the warranty, and you will have to pay.
Not true I've done this every single phone I've never had a problem and you can even talk to them I talked to them last year as well online and they said it does not void the warranty so what you're saying is incorrect
That is false. It will not void your warranty. When my 4 had the hinge problem they sent me another without screen protector.
@@TyTheGreat don't understand??
@@GregglesTV no what I'm saying is if you take the screen protector off and I breaks the screen, they didn't cover it.
@@TheElder_wrong...
Samsung gives you one free replacement per phone. If y’all didn’t know.
the name says it ... screen protector 🙂
Noooo...
I thought about removing it on the 5 but I never did. Cool 😮
😵💫🤯😱
