The complete absence of lolirock dolls is a crime. Also how can the company say the show didn't make enough money while at the same time putting in the bare minimum in the merchandises ?
They expected the music to be what made them a lot of money.

As much as I hate to admit it, the lack of good merchandise was definitely the show's downfall. It's part of the reason why other shows like Totally Spies and Miraculous ladybug were able to get several seasons.
I agree, it's been 4 years since the 2nd season ended and we still dont have any confirmations of a 3rd season. They even left us on a HUGE cliffhanger. The producers said that they needed to wait for the "right audience" to make the 3rd season, in other words they want Lolirock to be popular enough to continue it. As well as the lack of merchandising.
Edit: another thing on why the show didnt get a 3rd season, is because a lot of parents ( Karens) are complaining that Talia said "hell yeah" one time and to them its considered "swearing"

@@empandora123 I used to be obsessed with a child, but stopped watching it because it god bad fast. Now, as I'm old older rewatching both shows, it makes me sad that Miraculous got so many seasons and not Lolirock :(

5:40 this one was answered on the Tumblr. Aurianna and Talia don't have a Shanila form. Iris has one because as the heir of Ephedia, she's way more powerful than most of the other characters.
It feels more like a "maincharacter special treatment" to me but at least it makes a bit of sense.

I hate when a show makes the main characther look like they are the only characther that matters such as giving them 2 new froms while the rest of the girls are still have the same form they've had for 2 seasons such Lolirock and Sailor moon for example
Its so confusing that the girls are hiding their power in front of ppl, but when it comes to concerts, they dont?? And why does nobody getting confused about how they doing all of that??? 😭😭 Expect one guy from one of the episodes lol
I'm assuming they don't bother hiding it during concerts is because the audience thought they were special effects.

Talia and Ariana are older than iris so it would make sense for graymore to attack their kingdoms when they were kids and iris’s when she was a baby

@@stellamoonbow7635 So I know that Talia and Auriana are 3 years older than Iris in Ephedia ages but only one year older in Earth years but I think they would still look a lot younger than they do in the cartoon?
I think why people don't watch this is to it's simplistic plot and things that feel forced, such as the band, like there could be so much chances to incorporate it, like they could have battles where they sing against each other and they activate spells when they sing, like honestly how cool would that be and a compelling story line. And Gramorr's backstory sorta feels basic, even when I was a kid I got a little disappointed due to the lack of story, but I do understand it is a kid's show and there was probably financial issues, just stating out some opinions :')

The one miscalculating move that the producers didn't do is to sell dolls and toys as this show is targeted towards children, they should also created something to profitted not just on their music who barely even liked by some.

exactly u dont know how many times I've looked up official dolls for the show only to come up disappointed with repainted/ redecorated dolls to look like the lolirock characters 😭
Might be a nitpick but I never really got why Iris kept her pendant, like her power and only connection to her home planet, (which also looks pretty heavy), on such a thin, easily breakable piece of string. There was even an episode where it got snatched like that! And she learned nothing!
Praxina and Mephisto are the best characters from Lolirock change my mind

That was what I wanted to know, Aurianna told Iris that they were sent to find her, but they never said who it was that told them to find her
Yeah, had the show continued, I would love to have seen a flashback episode on how Talia met both Amaru and Arianna and learn who it was that sent them to earth in the first place. Maybe the King and Queen, a mentor of their's, just anyone.
@@tylerfish2701 I thought Gramorr locked up her parents. I mean how would they get a message to the two if they were locked up? The only other person I think told them to find Iris was Izira, Talia's older sister without them knowing it was her....
@@JadenYukifan28 There is a theory that the message was made before Iris was sent to earth. Not to mention, the girls never knew about Talia's sister until the episode, Xeris, but I get where your coming from about them not knowing it was her who sent them.

I found the plot of LoliRock was simple but the songs made it almost worth it to watch the same thing happen pretty much again and again in season one.
This video is super accurate, but I'll like to comment on the Shanila part. See, Shanila is a form that Iris summons when she is super pissed off. In the most extreme situations, like the medalion case and fighting gramorr. If they keep showing Shanila in periodic intervals it will become boring and won't make the fans any excited because they know that Shanila comes once in a blue moon. And Iris is a special princess, the most powerful one, meaning she is the only one who will have superpowers related to Shanila. For the other princesses, Shanila is just like a phase, becoming mature, like human bodies do. It kinda makes sense.

When it comes to the backstory, I think it’s possible that Gramorr attacked the other kingdoms way after he took control of Ephedia. Gramorr could’ve taken a lot of time to gain control and have an army. What’s kind of confusing now is why didn’t the other kingdoms help while Ephedia was still under attack? It seems like they only helped once they got attacked.

yeah, or it was just like a warmup and since the other kingdoms were allies with ephedia, so the allies couldnt really stop the take over of the capital
Something that never made sense to me was auriana and talia saying that they were from voltar and xeris but then saying they were ephedian.
Then to add to it their home planet ended up being ephedia, when i thought they came from separate planets. so you're telling me that Iris is the princess of an entire planet while the other two are only princesses of certain regions or colonies? But then Talia called xeris her home planet so i'm confused.

Ephidia is the planet of talia, auriana and iris
ephidia is divided into states
the main capital state where iris is from
is also call ephidia (its confusing)
xeris, Borealis, volta, calyx are the other state
That's maybe because, they were raised in Ephidia after losing their own home planet. They ran away afterall(because of Greymore's attack), maybe they got adopted and soon called Ephidia their own too.
Or maybe Talia and Iris are Epehedians cause the planet is called Ephedia and Ephedia is also the capital of the planet or main country whatever then xeris and Volta are split places. They literally could of just called the planet a different name it wouldn't have been that hard
@@nagassv5526 i think this one makes the most sense, The capital state usually has the more authority and is more known then the others, That would explain why Iris is more powerful then the others.

I've always wondered how mafesto/maphisto(?) died, considering that he can fly and is most of the time in midair. He could've easily avoided his death by flying away so that the rock doesn't crush on him?

they just used his “death” as an excuse for praxina to be the main villian of season 3
@@cvlliz_700 thought so, but it's a really bad excuse considering his flight ability 😭 + I don't think lolirock really needs a season 3 since everyone got their happy ending (correct me if I'm wrong)

when i was younger watching this show i was rlly hoping for dolls bc the designs were really pretty, and i was so sad looking up that they dont have any, and sold music instead. But their music is free on youtube lol

Bruh I remember when this aired in Nigeria and I loved it so much, my best friend and I would argue who would win a fight between lolirock and Winx club. Too bad there wasn't a season 3 tho was kinda bummed about it.

I think if Iris had been left on Ephedia she'd probably look the same age as Talia and Auriana in the flashbacks. It never gotten the chance to be mentioned in the show but in a F.A.Q on the official Tumblr. Years on Ephedia are three times shorter than on earth.
In earth years they're teenagers but in Ephedian years, Iris and Auriana are 45, with Talia, the oldest being 48.
Actually, during one scene in an episode they showed Baby Iris in the arms of the Queen of Ephedia. She had Blonde hair rather than pink

I do agree that it could have been done better and I do think there should be a season 3. Also, I thought they were going to redeem Praxina after they befriended her when she had amnesia

I agree that the producers saved money by using an arena but I also see the reason why the characters use if it they have that power to go into a pocket dimension to keep others safe. Dr. Strange tries to use the mirror dimension to keep others safe and if my hero academia characters can go into another dimension to reduce damage and protect their citizens they would. But none of the characters have that power so they practice to battle and reduce damage around them in their lessons.
in a certain episode, talia created a sentimonster (such as replicas of Mephisto and Praxina), to help Auriana and Iris practice magic. why don’t she create one in a battle, but only let the evil twins do so?
I love this show but it felt rushed and I felt it annoying they had no outfit changes every episode. Other things too like Nathaniel seeing Iris’ transformed nothing was done about that afterwards
True like winx club most of their outfits changes in each episode or in each season and in each mission im not really tryna compare they both really good shows
My theory for why they aren’t in school is because it’s summer vacation
Mine is that they all grew up on Ephidia and since Grammor ruined the planet the schools got destroyed too and they didn't get to learn enough information to be in high school (Yes I watched the show)

to be honest unlike a lot of people i dont mind the company's decision to not make dolls or merchandise.
companies arent entitled to MAKE dolls, if they just wanna make a show then thats compeletly fine in my opnion.
i agree, but it wouldve helped a lot with funding, especially since its mainly a kids show and the characters have the same body shape (makes it easier + cheaper for dolls)
I just thought it didn't make sense how the other princesses talked about their Shanila which is basically puberty with their families and all when their kingdoms were destroyed when they were kids.

I remember this show. I think I was 12 or 13 when I saw it, and I was livid with the ending! Especially because they showed Praxina possibly having a redemption. All your points were great, loved the video.
So i think you missed the explanation off the band, the reason was that they could practice magic without people knowing they used magic bc 'special effects'.

I'm still upset with the fact they're posting videos on their TikTok page, but not letting us fans know whether or not their butts are coming back with a season 3. The least they can do is give us a movie to tie up everything.
They don't have enough money for that, and the production team has been disbanded
@@gwenbe6085 on their Tumblr in the faq section, it says that if they don't make a season 3 they talked about wanting to make a novel or comic to tie things up, we just don't know when that will be, or if they will at all since it's all just things they've talked about.

Why did they kill mephisto man.
Praxina had to have her memory erased to be a good person.
Mephisto teamed up with the girls on his own volition on at least 2 occasions and was even friendly with Iris.
He literally told Iris that if he wasnt with generic bad guy he would totally follow her lead.
Keep generic villain alive.
Kill Praxina. And have that the straw that breaks the camel's back for Mephisto. So he joins the girls.
That would be a way better ending.
This!! I totally agree. For me there is only one valid reason why it was Mephisto that died and not her, and it's honestly just that he would probably sacrifice his life for her any possible time given. Because he cares about his sister's life more than his own. But still, I feel like this would've been really good too.
That's probably the best ending for the show
praxina becoming the main villain and mephisto dying I think it's a bad ending, he was like the best character in the show, but I'm kinda glad greymor died, he was like the most generic villain and a overused personality, but I do hope there will be more antagonists other than praxina I mean in the first season we literally only had TWO villains that actually fought, which is little for like 3-5 princesses, and I wish iris and the other princesses had better writing, cuz she's way too OP, I think her power should've been lower because she's newer but she's the princess of the whole planet (or the whole empire idk how it works) she's gonna be the most powerful and she won't get exhausted AT ALL from running a million times and she's gonna save the day🙄, Ik it's like a kids show..or a teen show, but that was a terrible ending, and we should have a episode of auriana in her kingdom, as in like a flashback and what she did in volta like they did in xeris, idk if I'm hating too much but I hope it's fine and this show is weird cuz it dosent reveal alot, like how did talia find auriana? how did praxina and mephisto become villains? and Carissa and lyna should've had more screentime, there's alot of missed potential in this show, but the thing that annoys me is the billion year long transformations tho

Yeah but since Gramorr was doing a full take over and the King and Queen knew before he got to the palace, clearly he took down other kingdoms before tackling the heart of Ephedia. Without eliminating other powerful families from the fight, he wouldn't have had a leg to stand on
answer for the backstory part: talia and auriana's kingdoms could have been attacked prior to the invasion of ephedia, whereas gramorr was already getting his warm-up before basically attacking ephedia, so he attacked xeris and volta first, most likely for the troops not to help ephedia during his time trying to take the crown
also with the other two shanilas never being used, those type of designs are costly to animate so it would have drained down alot of the funds they had.

it isnt specified in the show but crystal luxtra/quintis has to charge up on the magical energy exerted into the area.
I did hear recently hear that they are working on a season 3 now, as of when it'll come out I'm not sure. I think it might be sometime this year.

Yeah
Shanila sounds to me like magic puberty. If it is a physiological process in which they undergo certain changes to facilitate a higher capacity for magic use, then it affects all magic users. That means: also boys and all the other princesses.
We do know that their magic items are responsible for the transformation with their magical dress to give an external powerup. The innate magic of an Ephedian and their transformation gem seem to be independent. When Izira gave away her magic item (her medallion), she couldn't transform (magic dress) to fight Gramorr (oopsie). Then later at the end of Season 1 when she faced Gramorr again she was wearing a magic dress. Apparently she was able to make a new magic item for transformation - an item that includes a magic dress. If you assume that Iris' pendant holds 2 distinct magical dresses (one for battle, one for Shanila) that "activate" based on the situation, then there is no inconsistency with the other princesses and their Shanila. There's no reason the princesses couldn't make a new dress (for more toys) or add another level.
We know that the twins don't have magic items with a magical dress (or uniform for guys). When they change their appearance it is just a costume or an illusion. There is no powerup for them. They have to rely on their own mastery of their Shanila powers.
Also Talia tolerating the magical concerts does make sense. It's efficient. Talia is a "smart girl", right? Smart girls like efficiency. If they can use the magic concerts as practice for battle, then that's doing 2 things at once! Efficient. Remember the first episode when Iris' magic is awakened by singing into a specially enchanted microphone? Apparently music is a trigger for Iris' powers. So, that's a good reason to do music. Also remember Talia's backstory? She feels responsible for what happened in Xeris. And what do the princess do with the concerts on earth? Charity and helping people and doing good things and having fun. I think Talia tries to make up for what she did as a child.
So, Talia and Auriana already knew a few things about Iris, before they found her. They knew she has an affinity for music and her strong sense of justice that would help them discover the Oracle Gems. They knew where to find her. And they knew what happened in the Ephedian palace when Gramorr attacked. Whatever happened that triggered their decision to come to Earth to find Iris, it must have involved ghosts. I mean, how else would Auriana know about Talia's secret? And then those ghosts told them about The Legendary Princes that was born to defeat Gramorr and was sent to Earth until her powers grow big enough to claim the throne. Yeah, who took the screenshots from within the throne room when Gramorr attacked? Of course it was those ghosts! Also those ghosts are very funny, because Auriana really likes ghosts now.
Everything makes prefect sense, if you watch over and over and over... and over. The binding spell that trapped Gramorr wasn't meant for him. It was meant for Iris when her powers get out of control. Gramorr was the beta test. It needs work, because he broke free. It was meant to stall him just long enough for Iris to awaken her powers by herself at a much higher age. Talia and Auriana came early, because they found those ghosts! Ellira wasn't even in on this! She had just 2 simple orders: Raise her to be a loving, caring child and don't tell anyone!
They probably are still in a band because they get there magic from there music like musa from Winx remember when Iris lost her voice but could still talk but she couldn't use any magic when she can still say the words

bro i loved lolirock so much, it was my favorite cartoon when i was younger. it pained me so much to see it was canceled, even though making praxina a villain seemed like a fun idea (which i’d still die to see)
*Seeing many comments saying they are Surprised to see that Lolirock is known by others is Incredibly strange for me. When I was 13 in 2016, Lolirock was the LIFE of many girls of my age. I've met many of them By blogging (visiting and creating articles about Lolirock) (btw, we've never talked anymore since 5 or 4 years. I ve stopped stanning Lolirock in the end of season 1 because the season 2 tooked a long time to be realized. I was really surprise and happy when i saw 1 year ago some episode of the S2). Hope all of these fervent fans are all fine and have found another source of happiness). This time was really nice. I really wish Lolirock will have a S3 because the end is A little disappointing and sad, especially about Mephisto*

Lolirock made part of my childhood (literally, I was addicted to it) but now seeing again after 6 years, and after seeing so many different stories that makes sence,I agreed in every single thing in this video...I just have a special place for it cause this show made me really happy when I was younger (and also cause I absolutely love the music from the show, for more cliche that it is)
I just watched the show again cause it gave me a little bit of nostalgia,not for the history or romance in it...
Iris couldn't control her voice which poses magic, to help her they come up with an idea which is the band (she uses magic freely after the band as you can notice the difference)
Also techincally Season 3 of this show is not canceled its on hold lol cause rn they trying to get more views since they made an official tiktok account to get attention & views. There are gachatubers that are trying to get this show trendy again. Also i can see dolls for this show. idk why they made dolls. yeah the music is catchy but u dont gonna get that much money from that.

Another thing that confused me are their transformation trinkets. So in order to enter their ephedian forms they must transform with their accessory thingies. So like...On their home realm do they have to constantly wear those to remain like that (we did see a baby Iris with blonde hair and the necklace around her neck)? Or do they outgrow them at some point and no longer need them? And why the royalty at that? Jodan for one didn't have it, but Auriana did, so it doesn't apply to everyone?
I have never seen this show before but I will literally watch anything you make a video on because you have phenomenal taste as do I and it will most likely be something that I would like anyway
so I really respect your opinion but one of the saddest things is that there is not going to be a season 3 I really believed in 2018, 2019,2020,2021 and now 2022 I am sorry for the people that still belive beacause it is false hopes the devs didn't made any effort to raise money for the show through merchandise and I am going to say this sharp here they shot their bullets and after so many years it is starting to be darker and more darker with every single year there is a way to flip the pancake though but the devs need to act know before everyone forgets about the show and all of the people who are beliving in it stop beliving and all of that going in the shadows but the really emotionally destroying thing is that you are going to remember this show after 20 or 30 years if you are lucky and say "damn man it was a good show"

The one thing about Lolirock that no matter how much after rewatching I will never understand is the disappearance of Lev. It will forever irritate confuse and piss me off.
He is shown in Stop in the Name of Lev (part two) at the very end, to be holding off Gramorr's attacks. We know he is fairly strong (at least strong enough to hold him until Iris went through the portal) but we see him get hit by a blast of crystal. I'm not very eager to believe he died there, because I feel like Iris had a lackluster reaction to it in general, and if he died I like to think she would be more upset. (Only because he put his life on the line for her.)
Because of this, I'm assuming Lev is alive. If Lev is alive, then where the heck is he when the girls come back to the throne room after Gramorr's defeat? You'd expect to see him with Izira because didn't he say he was going to join the resistance? But no. Nowhere to be seen. And the worst part, the part that gets on my nerves the most, is not once, not a single time, does Iris ask or express confusion in not seeing him. (Sheesh even a scene like, he's not with the resistance? Did he lie again?)

For the shanila part, it's kinda easy to guess. In the first episode, we can see how Iris has a hard time trying to transfrom, but does when she sees that her aunt, talia and auriana are in so much danger. When she asks at the end, talia says that she did it because her most powerful magic manifested, which is love. I think her shanila form only comes, not because she decides so herself, but because she sees that her loved ones are in great danger, and she feels like it's the end or they will get hurt deeply, and the powerful magic manifests at those moments. (Not sure though)

I’m sorry but I really hate “Talia and Kyle sitting in a tree”. Like first off, Talia is right. Like the whole time and also was that the real Kyle the whole time or was that just a thing created by Praxina. And if it was then why did Talia decide to be in a relationship in the end? The only reason they survived that episode was because of a spell Talia taught Iris. Proving her point that she should focus more on learning spells than “having fun”. Also (this is more of a nitpick) why did they NEVER apologize to Talia for giving her phone number out without her permission? The whole episode was just so strange to me. And it also doesn’t help that we never seen Kyle again

When I was like 12, I watched LoliRock entirely at the apartment in North Carolina and this memory was back in 2014 right after Totally Spies!, I knew it was life-changing for Zodiak Kids. I don't care why the show ended on a cliffhanger since 2017, since I was 15, I've watched the last episode of the second season there was in the end, UUUGGH!!, I hate to say it, but the company was poor and it was practically canceled due to unknown reasons yeah, it never makes any sense and it seems frustrating when everyone saw Praxina in a cliffhanger ending in the last episode of the second season, duh, I'm not that stupid, it's very abruptly exhausting, I have no idea Iris cuts her hair short in Shanila and yeah, Totally Spies! was in trouble in 2014 and it was also kind of a bummer and it does suck they are no dolls and it was kind of annoying, but I adore Canada and I don't know why LoliRock was canceled in a cliffhanger just like ReBoot did since 2001 and I'm very upset that no third season was produced and renewed and yeah, it so badly and utterly sucks!. 😕🌙♦💖

No network wanted to produce it, funding issues.. not really sure how animated shows like this worked but it could be some of the reasons.

@@hopes9254 some part of it is that yeah, the show was being created in France(I think?) and France doesn’t care about the Hell word like America does, which got the show cancelled cause American parents didn’t like their kids being so casually exposed to the bad word ‘Hell’

okey backstory: Graymor attacked Talias and Arianas palaces before Iris' so like he was attacking all of the kingdoms that day if that makes any sense
why are they in a band?: Ariana basically forced them to. After they did auditions, Talia and Iris basically dropped the idea, but Ariana kept persisting them to make up the band. She even named it, so they basically had no choice. and also so they'd fit in better. Also generally people would think that their magic was special effects.
Arena: okay uh, well "I haven't heard of any show caring about background characters or destroying buildings" so why can't they now? Sure might've been financial issues, but of course you wouldn't wanna hurt people during a fight, like bro- how does this not make sense to you??? They summon the arena to cause less damage. There, simple.
Shanila: okay that form is basically a last resort super powerful magic form for Iris, if she's in trouble her normal powers can't handle, she transforms, and she only needed to use it a few times. And also it would be cool. And we do see pictures and a little backstory on Arianas and Talias Shanila's, but they're not really important to the plot line, unlike Iris'

He only had screen time once in ”back-to-ghoul” Volume 2, Episode 23 we never actually had a chance to see his face. In my opinion they should’ve made an episode where we get to know him better. Also then using the finisher spell to end the battles I guess it’s just them taking inspiration on Japanese magical girls, mostly Precure who will have great fights and such and then the finisher move and the show already has a lot of precure influence so I would not be surprised if they did that cuz if it.

This is my own theory but I feel like during battles..the reason why their "end" spell is always crystal luxtra is cause..when the girls perform this spell, it requires full concentration and plus the spell itself is a straight beam of light. In order for this to work the enemy has to be weak in order to not move and be a perfect target so the spell hits perfectly at it..this spell can't be scattered around much and nor can the girls themselves move during casting it or else it won't work.. basically the first spells they perform are just to get it heavily weak and then to finally blast the beast away by crystal luxtra

I think the band focus was because of a plot point that was forgotten with the episodes : their magic comes from their voice. So naturally, the more practice you get, the more magic you get / more precise with your spells.
The rest of the issues, the conflicting backstory, the arena, is just common french practice : make a grand story and make it sound / look like there's far more going on than shown. Usually leads to inconsistencies, small or insignificant questions answered, characters that are a bit off.
the only thing i dont understand why would they make praxina to be the powerful villain to the last when the show was shut down. for me its pretty useless the show was amazing and plus the thing i hate is that they dont change the story lines and their trnsformation dress.

I know this is a month late, but the reason why we don't have a season 3 is because it would be too expensive and would take too long since season 2 took 5 years to make. Plus, the studio who owns Lolirock aren't interested in making more seasons. The official tumblr website said, we can make our own season 3 in the form of fanfiction, but I highly doubt it will give the same satisfaction the show gave unless it's made by a good writer.
Don't they also say on the faq(on their Tumblr) that they talked about maybe making a comic of novel to tie things up if they never are able to make a season 3? Im aware it was just something they talked about but at least we have that confirmed?

I just noticed season 2 ended with a cliffhanger We don’t know what happened on earth after iris reunited with her parents so we are just left guessing what’s next but the show was already canceled they could have at least do one more season and not a cliffhanger

For the whole Shanila thing, also yes I know I'm replying after a year, the reason why the other girls didn't have an outfit most likely has something to do with Iris being the daughter of the Queen or whatever. I'm guessing she was just born special or they half-assed it and didn't want to put so much budget into animating several other forms that have a ton of detail. I know I'd get tired after a while too and I wouldn't blame them. Though, I would TOTALLY like to ever see a new form for Talia and Arianna since it sounds very interesting and especially with their color schemes!
Wow, I barely remember what happened in this show as I only watched in passing while getting ready and seeing it on TV after channel hopping! I was also too old for this to keep my interest and was only good for background noise😅🙈.
i also never understood how praxina didn't die along with mephisto, they literally fell from the same height and in the same way, not to mention that they could have used their teleportation powers.
