Made this last night for pre dinner nibbles and I didn’t make enough. It was an absolute hit with friends. Crunchy, flavourful and so delicious. Added to my favs worth making. Thanks Chef
This looks excellent and I'll definatley try it. I make hotwings over a braai (bbq for our UK and American friends) and this will be tried as suggested in the video but I'll try it over hot coals as well
Just made them for Sunday lunch! They’re absolutely delicious! Very tasty and crispy! What I like about your receipes is that they are easy to make and original. It makes a change from bbq chicken wings! Thank you very much for sharing!
Gr yes I need you to bring me a pack of ground beef and a can of tomatoes if you don't care about me a can of Rotel tomatoes to unless you want to take me up
And yes, I’ll get a goulash done. Might have to wait till the new year now but I’ll get it out early. I’ve filmed quite a few videos recently stashed away
BOom! How delightful, i used tallow and popped the wings in the oven, very crispy and tasty, I think my sauce wasn't quite right but still very tasty. thank you CJO 👍
Heya chef, are there any additional steps needed to air fry these? Obviously they won't be as crispy but for a week night it's probably a bit too much to do a proper deep fat fry.
You can add them directly to the air fryer, replacing the fry step. They won’t be as crispy but will still be good. Give them a splash of oil to help the crisp
Yes, it's that freshness and clean taste. Thanks, Chef. Unrelated, but I'm making a Moroccan pumpkin tagine now, and love the flavours from dried figs, apricots, cinnamon, Rasoul hanout, cloves. Will be doing your dish tomorrow.
You want a neutral oil for this. Rice bran will work, but not coconut oil. It will overpower the flavour and ruin the caramel. Vegetable, sunflower or safflower are the best alternatives
@ChefJackOvens This is the pronunciation police here, sir. I'm going to let you off with a warning this time, but, going forward, pronunciation is pronounced: Pro•none•see•a•sh•unn And not: Pro•noun•see•a••sh•unn. Consider yourself warned, sir.
Wow that's a Lot of fish sauce. I use a Vegan fish sauce as it's less than half the sodium amount of the original, but still has that wonderful flavour. Fantastic recipe Jack. Ta 👍🤤😃 Oh yeah it's the flats for me. I love sucking the meat off the bone after twisting them apart.
Ever heard of Vietnamese flavours on fried chicken? Well yeah, this is Vietnamese fried chicken. plus a fair few Vietnamese restaurants serve these including one that is extremely reputable here in Australia
Maybe overseas Vietnamese people created this dish and it actually good and got famous. It's just that we don't have that in our hometown, not gonna represent it
what i love about your videos is no unnecessary bibble babble, just straight to the point
❤
Thank you 🙏

I'm Vietnamese and love the ingredients that you added to represent our signature flavors. These look very flavorful and tasty!
Thank you so much
That superb crunch and stunning sauce! Another keeper. Thank you Sir.
❤
Always a pleasure
Definitely looks delicious. This may just be the dish that I take to the Christmas party at the office. Thanks for another awesome dish. 👍
I'll defs give this recipe a go thanks chef!! 😊
These are my favourite wings. So much flavour and the best crunch

Thank you 🙏 The sauce won’t stick as well if you don’t fry to create that crisp. They will still be good but not as good

Are you going to make Christmas meals this year again?
May I recommend/ask for Goulash?
Christmas content is being filmed as we speak. Will be rolling out in the next few days leading right up to Christmas
And yes, I’ll get a goulash done. Might have to wait till the new year now but I’ll get it out early. I’ve filmed quite a few videos recently stashed away

Chef, what would you say is a good replacement for peanut oil? My bf is allergic to peanuts but would love to make this for him
Ricebran oil or coconut oil.

Right on time 😂 was thinking about wing night for Friday dinner! Thanks ❤
These are amazing
LoL - the pronunciation police. I so love that. Almost as much as I love this new recipe. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Haha. Thank you 🙏
Oooh loving this recipe delicious thanks Chef.
the vegetable(herb) on the last if you change to lime leaves(very thin slice) will be better but overall look very good repices. From a Vietnamese :)
Adding lime leaves yes, but definitely do not remove the herbs
Bravo! Everything except the heat for me.
Depending on the chilli, these aren’t that spicy. Of course, if you don’t like heat, the chilli can be left out

Im a sucker for wings haha 😂
OMG - It's absolutely mouthwatering - have you been to Vietnam?
Omg! This is on this weeks dinner menu. Mmmmm 🤤
Wow! A must try for me!
What is it best fish sauce substitute?
This looks amazing! Do you think this will work with fried tofu as a vegetarian option?
Is 7-8 minuyes really enough time for first fry? Im always worried about undercooking the wings
Yes then the second fry finishes the cooking. I’ll never post something or a timing that’s incorrect
It's tough to find sunflower oil in Florida.
Ironic. Sunshine State, but no sunflower oil.:)
Love your commentary! Especially when you comment on all the trolls trolling.
Haha
Fish sauce wings are the best 😋 thank you, chef
Looks amazing... i actually prefer flats. ❤❤
looks lush
What can substitute for fish sauce?
Fish sauce is the ingredient that can’t be replaced in this dish unfortunately.
Hmm, wing in fridge ✅ Sauce ingredients ✅ herbs 🌿 to mix in 😬 Oops…..luckily I have Culantro, Vietnamese Parsley some call it 🧐 Wish me luck 🤞🏾
Mint and herbs? Fish sauce? This guy knows his stuff
The best combo
