I bought one of these models in the 90s and it was about the same color as this one, a metallic blue. The great thing about the restoration is that it looks almost exactly like new - even the thick mercedes star emblem is just like the original - but the flimsy plastic rear antennae have been replaced by much sturdier nails! Excellent restoration work!

I think this was more of a salvage operation then a restoration!
The custom paint job glued the whole thing shut.

nicely done, nice and shiny again. and the paintjob is way better than original, in that era the paint might have flaked off while you opened the blister. :)
a possible restomod could have been to paint it gold and give it a sand-coloured vinyl roof. these limousines often had vinyl tops with rubber foam between to cover the weldign seams of the roof... :)

Było sporo pracy, ale jak zawsze wyszło super! Też mam ten model (plus grafitowy Cadillac Limousine). Niestety ich denerwującą wadą było żenujące spasowanie drzwi, poniżej standardów tej firmy. Firma RealToy też robiła model tego Mercedesa, być może podróbkę. Trochę brakuje mi napisu ,,Mercedes Limousine" na pudełku. Serdecznie pozdrawiam w Nowym Roku 2023.

Hi! I just found out that I have a rare Gama Mercedes 1:11 from the 70's. Missing the batterycompartement, wire and hubcaps for the wheels. Any ideas where to look for?

Hello. if you have at least one rim then you can copy it in silicone and create the rest, worse if you don't have any wheel caps at all. Unfortunately, I don't have this model, so it's hard for me to say anything. while looking at the photos from the internet, I saw that the battery box is hinged, which makes it very difficult to make parts of it, but you have to check the auction portals carefully. sometimes someone sells only parts for this type of toys.
