Corgi refurbishment of Porsche Targa 911S Police Car No. 509. Diecast model toy.

- This model was launched in 1970 with a white body, black roof and red bonnet, side doors and rear engine cover with "Polizei" lettering on the front, rear and both side doors, with red lettering on a white background. Production ended in 1975. In 1973, the Dutch police variant of Porsche was also created. In the video, you can turn on subtitles in your language with a commentary on the action. I made my copy similar to the graphics on the box and made white inscriptions in the form of a decal. This model has an opening rear engine cover and two opening side doors. The headlights are crystals embedded in the body casting. The car also has a blue plastic light on the left (driver's) side, mounted on a chrome lever just outside the door, and a large siren mounted on the rear engine cover. My Porsche was missing a lamp. I made it from a diode on a plastic arm. Thank you for watching the video, I publish videos with car repair on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

My grandparents brought one of these home from Europe for me. I was maybe 8 or 9 (1970?). I remember the light on the side being wobbly.

Great job as always. I had a thought about when you have to paint different areas a different color. I notice you occasionally get some overspray. Have you ever considered trying a trick I’ve seen with house painting? Once you lay down the tape, spray it with the first color (i.e. white) and let it set. This kind of seals off the tape. Then, after repaint with the second color (i.e. red) which should avoid get the overspray under any loose areas of tape.

Nice job like always. Is hard to find parts for the European diecast toys so I’ve been making a lot of parts like on the headlights Ive been able to make them out of drops of resin and they come out really nice and clear

Beautiful casting! Horn out the back looks funny. Was that really a thing in Germany at one time maybe for crowd control? Install a campaign banner on top of that car and it would make a great advertising vehicle for a politician.

beautiful restoration! I've noticed that other TH-camrs who restore these cars will soak the plastic windscreens in liquid floor wax (e.g., "mop & glo" here in the US) to make them shiny; is the plastic restoration liquid you use similar to these products?
thank you very much. It seems to me that these fluids are quite similar because they must have something in them that creates such a very thin layer on the plastic

Porsche fuhr die Polizei in Deutschland fast nur auf der Autobahn, und die Fahrzeuge waren weiß/dunkelgrün lackiert. Die Lautsprecher waren viel kleiner und in Fahrtrichtung montiert. Wenn ich so viel Arbeit in ein Modellauto stecken würde, wäre das Ergebnis eher ein Unikat, das meinem persönlichen Geschmack entspricht und vorbildgetreuer aussieht.
Aber jeder soll das tun, was er mag.
Vielen Dank, ich habe mich an das Original gehalten, aber ich weiß genau, dass in Deutschland die Autos weiß und dunkelgrün waren, und ich würde sie auch in dieser Farbe machen. Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Great job as always Paul. But the color scheme feels so wrong as the german police cars wore white/green in the past, whereas white/red is used by ambulances or maybe firefighters. A nice WE y‘ all! 💯👍
Maybe it wasn't German in the first place but Austrian or Swiss. There are quite a few images on Google with the Polizei Porsche in red and white. In Austria and Switzerland they do speak German too

How do you make decals with white letters on a transparent background?
Thank you very much. there is a special printer for such printing. I do it digitally. they have an Oki printer which has a separate white toner. this can also be done on a laser printer by replacing black toner with white toner. Kind regards
I think corgi made a mistake . The Dutch highwaypolice drove these kind of Porsches in these colors . So the polizei has to be politie.. The German police had green white cars.

Hi Paul, great job. May I ask you what device you use for tapping? It looks like a screwdriver with a special head for tapping? And which size drill and tap do you use? 1,5 mm tap and 2 mm drill and screws?

Thank you very much. I use a 1.6 mm drill bit, then tap the hole with an M2 tap and screw in the M2 Torx screws. Rivets are scored with a punch punch. Kind regards
