yeah the thing that I find crazy is that half the time they say something like it's supposed to be the joke, but it just literally comes across as... a stereotype of conservatives. Like the kind of flimsy joke character that we would make up in a comic about how stupid and shitty THEY are. Like the joke half the time is "haha this guy's an awful human being, AND THAT'S HOW WE ALL SHOULD BE/ARE!"...
I agree. Most of it I just go "huh?" and simply don't feel anything while the rest of it doesn't even get a lift from my eyebrow it's that boring.

It feels like (despite not having seen the show mind you) that they tried to make it seem like they (conservatives) can be tolerant and embrace "woke people" as well by trying to show a "woke person" who isn't completely demonised and awful to the ridiculous point they usually decribe them.
Unfortunately for them as you pointed out all that did was show a person who tries their best to genuinely make the world a better place for everyone and the only issue with the "woke" character is that he comes across as a bit annoying.
This is particularly funny since the actual main character is shown to be quite meanspirited, abraisive and unlikable whilst unapologetically acknowledging it himself. Like when he said "I want the record to show I am a d*ck." Why would anyone be drawn to such a character?

Years ago I would’ve questioned this statement. These days knowing that 9/10 of the people I’ve met who hate cats also happened to be horrible conservative trash has made me see it as a pretty accurate assumption. I absolutely see it as a red flag now.
Edit: Actually, it would be 10/10, seeing as the 1/10 represents 2 people who don’t _hate_ cats but simply don’t like them due to their allergies. They don’t take it out on the cats, though, and one of them even donated to a local cat shelter recently.

Yeah as a cat person I think hating literally any animal is a red flag. It's fine to be AFRAID of some animals, but it shouldn't be normal to HATE them as a whole. I used to be afraid of dogs as a kid but I've never used that as a reason to be angry at them.

This show might seem anti-woke, but it's actually super woke. The main couple has a working wife with a higher paying job than the husband, and they're a blended family. They *gasp* divorced and remarried. Plus, there is a gay character.

Also, the "My teammates can see your junk," part kind of confuses me. The shot from before where he's shown playing the game, it looks like he has no background and just has the gameplay behind him, but when he's complaining about Birchum's "junk" being too visible, his room is the entire screen. Did he switch to showing his room just so that the people watching his stream could see his dad in his underwear, or did he somehow switch to that on accident? Or were they not even seeing any gameplay in the first place, and were only seeing him and his room while he played? Would anyone even watch a gaming stream where you only see the face cam in the first place?

There might be some more context in the actual episode (he stopped the gameplay for a moment to talk to his audience, and then Birchum came in), but from the way it's shown in the trailer, it looks like he just switched to showing the whole room so that his audience could see Birchum in his underwear.

Why Patrick Why?
Voice actors don’t get paid a lot and will voice a character in any show or movie if the money is right
I’m not a professional show runner but I thought I’d share my thoughts based off of everything in this video:
1. I hate the animation. Every adult TV show now has this janky, low-budget, and ugly animation style. Why do people think it looks good? The character design is so EWW. I hate the art direction in every way imaginable.
2. The only two voice actors that I actually like are Patrick and this other girl that I forgot the name of. The rest SUCK.
3. Why is Brett Cooper here? I’ve never seen her voice act before. It’s like casting celebrities with no talent because they’re popular, except with TH-camrs.
4. When you center a show around politics, your show will age like milk. Times change and politics change. Instead of choosing topics that will become irrelevant in 10 years, focus on topics that are timeless.
5. Making a show about politics, regardless of which side, will automatically cut off 50% of potential viewers. Some people will disagree with its beliefs or prefer not to associate with politics, either way, you’ll lose viewers and money. If their goal is to make money off of this, then they’re going to fail.
6. This shows makes references to memes. This is bad because when the meme dies out, so does your reference.
7. The main character is shown to have a man vs society conflict in the trailers, which is fine. However, they show many clips of the main character insulting other characters and never give him a good motivation for his actions. This will make the audience root against the main character, which is something you never want when writing a story.
8. If I were to watch the trailer without any context, I’d assume the main character is a villain. He insults, disrespects, and is hated by the other characters. He doesn’t show remorse for any of his actions either. They made the main character into a villain archetype. This can work, but given the set up the show built, I don’t think it will. If this show is trying to display conservative values, shouldn’t they make the conservative main character a likable person?
9. This is almost like a parallel to Velma. The main character is unlikeable, there’s a bunch of political jokes, and there’s horrible animation.
Overall, this show is going to last 5 years maximum. I’m calling it.

It's a shame. Some of these would be great in the right context.

There were MULTIPLE sections in the frst 3 minutes in which I busted tf up laughing, but the best bit was (2:35) "I'm black and that USED to be enough, but I'm also bilingual, and I'm nonbinar-"

The context for that was that he was not afraid to get fired because he added being bilingual and non-binary to his resume, and back in his days being black was enough as in he was the token black employee. Like schools hiring him to show of that they are diverse. This is what i understood from watching the first episode.

Thankful to anyone who didn't grow up aware of who Adam Carolla was. 20+ years ago, he used to be a regular on the local Los Angeles radio station and would host a sex advice show with Dr. Drew. He's very much this type of guy and wrote a book about how guys were turning into chicks. Still what's crazy is that he is known for saying that women weren't funny and often had callers on his podcast that he would berate because he'd get lost in an unrelated misogynist tangent. I'm not surprised he's doing this stuff.

i mean they clearly chose to depict Birchum as a rip off of Ron Swanson (but Ron Swanson is actually a good person usually, and his actor is a wonderful human being) so I think it's only right that we reclaim him.

I guess patrick is now looking for scraps which sucks cause hes a good actor and has a nice voice. So, I did some digging. Patrick Warburton is apparently a “lifelong conservative with liberal values on certain topics”. Whatever that means. So, it’s evidently not that surprising that he’s on this show. Danny Trejo, however is a Democrat who helped a convict overcome a drug addiction. So, what the fuck is HE doing here?

It's like the creators of this show took everything from other shows that poked fun at conservatives and made it into something serious.
