      If you have a friend that has one, test it out. So comfortable.

      Only time I ever sleep in a tent is if I’m backpacking somewhere that has little to no trees. I dread that now! 😂 My blackbird xlc is so much more comfortable than ground sleeping. My body seems to recover much better with a goodnight sleep in the hammock. I also have a hammock gear brand setup which is very nice as well. But I love the shelf and the foot box the Warbonnet hammocks provide. My Warbonnet blackbird xlc double layer lightweight is my go to camper. Lol… But beware! If you’re camping somewhere that gets 70 degrees Fahrenheit or less at night in a hammock you’ll need a sleeping pad or underquilt. Underquilts are pricey but they make all the difference. I use the Warbonnet full length Wookiee quilt. It’s perfection!

    I like that it's made in USA! How do you get in the hammock with the strings to the fly net in your way?

    • @The_gear_review_channel

      They never get in the way for me so I just get into the hammock as I would any other.

    Hello why did you buy a SL version? I think DL version have similar prize and you can add a insulation as a klymit static or similar to protect your body. I would like to buy this hammock too, that is why I am asking you. I live in north east part of silesia close Opava.

    Your suspension needs a bit more angle to it. 30
    degrees as a start

    Nice hammock! I love my blackbird xlc. I have the double layer lightweight. Got the double because of mosquitoes biting through the material. I’ve had that issue with single layer hammocks. Using an underquilt will get rid of that problem though. Also I recommend loosening the straps. Everyone is a bit different on their comfort but Brandon from Warbonnet recommends being able to bend the ridge line. Hanging too tight over time can damage the hammock especially the bugnet. Check out his video.

      @@The_gear_review_channel I’ll definitely check out your other videos! I’ve got 3 Warbonnet hammocks myself and a bunch of their quilts and tarps. I’ve got hammock gear stuff too which is really nice as well. Most of my suspension stuff is from dutchware. Thinking about getting a superior gear set up too because why not!? 😂🤣

      @@u.p.trailseeker7350 love it 🤣 ditch has amazing stuff and none of which I own at the moment. Not sure if I ever will but that's ok for now. I'm coming from a ground sleeping background which I still love. It's great to test out different styles though for hammocking.

    Your hang angle is too shallow, you will damage it over time. Also with Warbonnet hammocks, you want to get that foot end 16 inches higher than the head end. "2/3 foot higher" - no, you want around 1 and 1/3 foot higher

    • @The_gear_review_channel
      @The_gear_review_channel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually I go for 30 degree angle with foot end just under a foot higher than head.
      When it comes to hammocks I just role with the flow and go with what suits me.
      At the end of the day we are all different and have our own preferences as to what works best for us.
      Knowing people with these hammocks. Some have foot and head end the exact same height and find it extremely comfortable.
      Below is a link to my IG. A few shots up there as to how I hang it.
      I'll be doing a TH-cam video soon showing how I hang my hammocks. It'll be good I hope 😊

    • @barragin9893
      @barragin9893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@The_gear_review_channel Yes - that is correct - but in this video the angle of your tree traps looks about 5 degrees at best.

      @@barragin9893 possible they are. After the video ended I rehung them before getting in. This video is to show the hammock properties up close more than how to hang a hammock. That will come in another video soon, I hope. I'll be showing two BB XLC'S beside each other but more importantly how I like to hang my hammock for my needs.
