Can you please let me know what driver should I use for the USB to Serial cable? Thank you so much

The way I did this as I was running Windows in a virtual machine on a Linux host then no driver was required as the virtual machine was set up so the cable appears to Windows as just a serial port and Linux doesn't need any drivers for these cables as it comes with them, the cable I used is a prolific one so if used on a computer running Windows it may need the older prolific drivers if it doesn't work when plugged in at first

@@PaulMcGeeM0WNUthanks for the reply Paul. I’m using it on an old computer with Windows XP and when I plug the cable it isn’t able to install or find the driver, so I’m on a dead end. I also tried in a PC with Windows 7 and the same thing happened

@@MrCacciLLo If the cable has a Prolific chip inside chances are it will not work without using an older driver from around 2007 I think it is, this is because the vast majority of Prolific chips are often identified as fake and the current Prolific drivers in Windows somehow detect this and disable them, what you'd need to do is remove the existing driver, unplug the cable and then install an older one, a quick search around Google (or any search engine) for Prolific old drivers should bring them up

@@PaulMcGeeM0WNU Thank you so much Paul, at the moment the only way Windows XP or Windows 7 recognized the cable was by installing a driver called CH340, Windows recognizes it but the Motorola CPS software is not able to communicate with the radios (tried 3 of them). I don't know what Chip is inside the cable, I will try some Prolific drivers like you suggested. Thank you so much
