- Welcome back for another episode of our Caribbean Princess Cruise vlog 2018. In today's episode we exit the ship and make our way into Roatan, Honduras. We were docked at Mahogany Bay and I spend some time exploring the port while Jenny returns to the ship. It was a great time. Follow along with us and enjoy the episode.

Wasn’t even apart of the loca fam when you cruised here. First I’ve seen this, but I totally agree: get out there. Don’t stay in one tiny place your whole life.

I just had to text in….love you two. This is just a tip for Jenny. Hi Jenny….I just got off a 15 day Hawaiian cruise on Princess cruise last Tuesday. My friend said I could never do a cruise because of problems with walking, heat (I’m fair), breathing etc…..so she bought me a rollator from Amazon, around $100, and it was a God send, an absolute life changer. I’ll be 75 in March and I wanted to stay active, particularly cruising, but was basically home bound until she got me this. I could walk and keep the pace….even took it on a river cruise on Kauai where there was an uphill dirt path to a fern grotto. It was easy to manipulate, every tour operator was so helpful….the one problem, it wouldn’t fit through the cabin door, so just left the brakes on right outside the door. It’s jazzy….hot pink with zebra embellishments…..and oh….there’s a seat to rest on!! An absolute game changer. I was able to get fresh air and exercise. Check it out! And no I’m not a rollator salesperson!!!
It’s great fun to watch you guys the way cruising used to be we are cruising on Caribbean Princess hopefully in September but it’s so much fun to watch you guys on the ship the way life used to be thank you so much

Another great day, another great vlog!! I’ve wondered what Mahogany Bay was & now I know (I thought it was like the private island for Carnival & it kind of is)!! Anyway - was so nice to see Tony enjoying the cruise life & sharing his joy of the beauty that surrounds us when we cruise (and just how precious life really is - something I sometimes forget)!! Loved the chairlift & the chats you had with people going in the opposite direction!! Tony & Jenny are genuinely nice people who know their “pleases & thank yous” & who enjoy meeting and talking to folks - everyone & everywhere!! Does my heart good to watch you guys!!
And the Caribbean Princess truly is a beautiful ship - I love that Princess makes me feel like a princess!! Thanks LocaFam!!

Roatan is a beautiful place, one of my favorite ports. Weather is always great but the sun, whew! I think my next cruise Im taking a small umbrella for shade.

Roatan is one of the places i haven't been to in the Caribbean. I hear the snorkeling and diving is great there.
We went to Roaran when there were huts selling goods at the end of a short pier. Boy has it grown Looking forward to visiting it again
Seems like there are a couple piers there. This was Mahogany Bay. Not sure what the other one looks like.

Ya know Mahogany is a tree right and grows everywhere there....the heat this is a lot tho...I agree...and your right another country to say you’ve been to....ahhh...the adventure of Cruising tho...
I also don't do great in the heat (humidity especially) so here's a tip I'm sure you've heard, but it REALLY works! Get some of those "cooling towels" that you wet, wring out, and put around your neck. They are so worth it! You can find a ton of them on Amazon, and Wal-Mart has them in the camping section for about $7. Also, cruise during the winter! Lol. We cruised last December and the weather was perfect, so much so that our next one is January 2019. 😉

Is the chair left only for Carnival co. Ships? Not sure if could handle the stopping and going but the view looked wonderful.
There are a couple places to dock in Roatan. Only Carnival and Princess dock where the chair lift is. It was great. - Tony

We went there last year. It rained kinda hard the whole time right up until we left. I almost fell in the shopping area twice because of the way floor lol. It was still pretty. We get another chance and hopefully it will be rain free in November. My husband wants to do the chair lift but it makes me nervous. I close my eyes on rides like those lol.

Jen, shoe recommendation. Sherry from CruiseTips recommended Nike Tangun’s. My daughter and I both have feet that hurt and since buying those, our feet are GREAT!

This is one of our fav ports ..we partied at fat tuesdays ..awesome frozen drinks ..we walked to the beach it was a nice walk ...hey Man U went on a cruise in July!! It’s gunna be super hot lol nice vlog my friends

When it is a busy time there is more stopping on the lift. When we went in Nov. there wasn't much stopping.
Isn't it amazing how they funnel you through the "shopping area" before you even get to the port itself? It is the same in Cozumel.

I think your hat keeps you warm whilst providing zero shade, Usually when I'm on a chairlift, I have skis attached to my feet LOL

I'm taking my fiance on her first cruise in Dec. We are going on the elation Dec 22nd for a Christmas cruise. There are still some cabins available and I think you can get some lobster rolls too. Lol
I would've died a hundred times over on that chair lift, shudder. It was super pretty, though!

How to Pronounce Roatan. For all mainland Hondurans and their descendants who live in Roatan, the island’s name is distinctly Spanish. For the many visitors to the island, the island’s name becomes a bit more Southern American in nature. Generally speaking, the island of Roatan is pronounced as roh-ah-TAHN.

Was the chair lift 14 per person? I am I the process of planning out our September cruise and was unsure about Routan.
They offered it on the ship for $9 per person but yes at the lift it was $14 per person.
You would have to pay me to go on that lift. Not a fan of heights.
If it's Japan or England, do you walk on the left side of the corridors?

For the future Jenny and you need to taken an 🌂 umbrella with you for the shade it can give you. Umbrellas are not just for rain 🌧 ☔️ they can give you good shade also.

Next time why don't you and Jenny try cruising in the month of May or the beginning of June when it's not so hot
We probably will do that also :). We tried to go on a Canadien cruise in June but couldn’t make it work, so did this one. It’s was a blast but yes got. :) - Tony

I'll be in Rotan in early April on the Carnival Breeze. I like it there. I skipped the chairlift because its an easy walk. Plus, I did not want to pay the $14. I just might this time so I can say I did it.

It’s no always obvious where to get it stamped. You gotta find the customs office in most cases. - Tony
