First of all, have fun! It depends on how much you like to snorkel. It wasn’t that great, but it was OK. Don’t bother paying for the magic chairlift ride to the beach (unless you like chairlifts). You can walk in half the time. It’s less than half a mile. What other ports are you going to? We have videos of almost all of the ports in the Caribbean.
We didn't take the magic chair lift but walked as you suggested. The beach and loungers at mahogany bay was our favorite port compared to Costa Maya or Cozumel.

We have never needed any shots or pills for travel to the Caribbean (except when Covid was a thing).
